The Morning After Love
Last night we went to see Courtney play at the Wiltern. This girl has really gotten it together. What a star. Energy, presence and light like never before. The show was brilliant and with the all girl line up, they really give the men in this game a run for their money. She has really become one of my favorite people in the world. Sweet, endearing and a true pleasure to be around... even more captivating than the old self-destructive artist be grew to love. I am really happy to see her talent take the front seat away from some of the headlines she has endured over the past few months.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
We did the CFR show live from the venue last night. At one point, we had Courtney, Billy Morrison, Billy Duffy, Steve Jones and myself all on air at the same time. Great show. Great time.
Not many people dressed up last night. I know, it wasn't Halloween yet, but I have to say that the winners from the evening were Steve I and Riss, who came as a sexy dead couple. Steve as a zombie and Riss as a dead fairy. They really outdid themselves. I am hoping they took pictures. Carmen and I kind of pussed out last minute. We went as... ourselves. I wore the ears, but it was just too damn cold for the swimsuit and shirtless look of the Bunny Boy from Gummo. Plus, I wasn't able to get my accordion last minute as it was apparently thrown out due to a malfunction. Today, we are hoping for a festival of creepy images flashed at us on screen.
For those of you who sent us the "getting to know you" questionnaire, don't feel ignored. Many of your questions should be answered tonight.
Have fun tonight,
DN

is TPC.com being put up tonight, like you said before? *grins* I had Hallowe'en yesterday because my best friend has gone away today... it was a zombific affair, I'll say that! to be honest we looked more like the living dead at 4am when we were still awake
it must be fun to see rockstars and celebrities dressing up in costumes...

dave,
my girl and i were at the show too! courtney was really good. did you catch when she was about to do her encore she told her guitarist "do it better than navarro"?
classic.
how old was her lead guitarist, 17? they were all great.
and youre right, courtney was not crazy, she was sweet. she sang well. the band was great.
but dude, what about juilette and the licks? un-Real!

Dave,
First off, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Too bad you didn't do the costume, the pictures would have been awesome to see!
I do have a quick question for you. How do you feel about people making money off of Dave Navarro related things on Ebay? I am really torn over something regarding that. As I mentioned in my first post here, my 8 year old daughter is learning to play guitar with her Dad...AND she has a huge crush on you! :) I am an Ebay-aholic, and while looking around the other night I found some of your guitar playing instructional DVDs as well as VSH tapes. I have no clue where to find them off of Ebay. I would love to get them for Ashlyn, however, I hate the idea of YOU not getting any of the money for the purchase. How do you feel about it...and is there anywhere else to find those DVDs so I can buy Ashlyn one?
Thanks, Dave!

Happy Halloween!!
Ahhh I am awaiting TPC debut today. I thought well maybe Dave wold surprise us early...
Sounds like the show was awesome last night. As for Courtney, she really has to prove herself to me. I was at her show in Portland when she toured a small while with manson. She thouroughly disappointed me when she left the stage in the middle of Doll Parts and only played maybe 30 mins. All because we weren't boosting her ego as much as she wanted. Since then I lost what respect I had for her. Hopefully she will change my mind.
Have a great evening tonight! I have to take my 2 stinkers trick or treating. My son is going as a Ninja Turtle (man do I feel old) and my daughter as the princess from Princess and the Pauper.
Love,
Karrie :)

So Dave, are you actually going to answer the getting to know you questionare thing? Meh, and I who thought I'd be doing you a favour by not clogging up yer mail account with it :p Ah well, I guess I'll just have to get someone to fill me in on your answers. I do intend on sending it back to everyone who sent it to me, though...when I get around to it :)
Have fun trick or treating everyone!
I've figured out why no kids ever come to my house, by the way: There ARE no kids closer than a mile and a half away. Which sucks because I have several pounds of candy in the house, and I can't fucking stand candy (it's too sweeet) Ah well...:)

Happy Halloween people!
You know, I was going to ask if anyone sent our Panic Channel boys the getting to know you email.. I just replied to all that were on the email sent to me.
Although the thought of Dave in a coffin freaks me out a little bit, the pic is quite appropriate for today.
I went to the Hollyood Forever cemetery last night and they had some incredible dedications to the dead going on. That place is so cool. I want to go visit and take a tour during the day when the graves are more visible. afterwards we went to a club down the street and boogied down. Met this guy Derek dressed up as a Rastafarian.
and for those who would like to see some folks in their costumes, this is my sis the pirate and me the dead bride.. hehe

hi mr Navarro
my name is yann,i'm a french guy from Paris, I just want to thank you for all the joy and the good stuff you bring to me. you allow me to learn the guitar amazingly. in order to have the right sound, i spent all my money since my 14 years for my guitar rig ( i'm 21 now)i give up the idea of buying a PRS cause it costs really much more in france than in USA... i don't know how to say all i feel about your music for all this time, just thank you really, you are so cool, and modest i love that.I was at the JA gig in Paris 2 years ago at the Elysee Montmartre, and i loved it so much that i cried.
i hope that you will be back soon in Paris with you're new band or CFR why not(?) just another thing, what kind of distortion pedal should I buy for my fender twin reverb in order to have a good crunchy sound ?
thank you so much even if you don't answer, I respect you from the bottom of my heart

Hey everyone!
Haven't had much of a chance to post here lately, things have been rather hectic over the past week. Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hey to all of you! Can't wait for the TPC site to go up tonite!
So did anyone else dress up for Halloween? I went as the lizard king (a.k.a. - Jim Morrison). Granted, last night wasn't Halloween, but, everyone celebrated anyway. My friend's band PT Grimm was playing a show, they do a cover of People Are Strange...so naturally I was on stage to sing it with them. Lots of fun! But I'm sure to go deaf by next year if I don't start wearing earplugs to these things!
Happy Halloween everyone!

Heyy Daveeee
Happy Halloween to you, and the rest of you here ^-^!!
I am so going trick or treating...and guess who I dressed up as?
I am being Carmen for halloween as a Pussycat Doll. I know no one could ever beat her beauty and be exactly like her but, I idolize her and the outfits of the pussycatdolls look amazing so I'm being Carmen as a pussycat doll...
I will be taking pictures...so I might post a link of me dressed up as her later sometime after I get the stuff developed..and like I said I know I can't look exactly like her (I don't really..actually this one guy friend of mine who loves Jane's Addiction before her knew I adored Dave and Carmen he said I kinda look like a mix of you two..ya know how like you get father's genes..moms genes and yeah..combine n poof! i saw it as a compliment so yeah <3!)
Anyways..I'm going trick or treating soon
Ciao Dave and all mwahhh

Happy Halloween, everyone! Hope you're enjoying yourselves... or recovering from a Saturday of having enjoyed yourselves.
I had a blast last night. We went to a toga party with a group of very festive friends. The one stipulation was that the toga be unique and reflect our individuality. I found this great shimmery sequined fabric, and went as some kind of futuristic ancient Roman disco diva. Meanwhile, my 'better half' wore a snakeskin (pleather) toga. (TIP: Don't ever try to make a toga out of pleather. It sounds good in theory, but not in practice! Trust me on this.)
Cheers,

Maria!!! You beautiful little mouse!!! You really ARE a mortisha! I think I remember seeing you at Dragonfly, you and your sister were behind me, I remember thinking, I should let this little girl in front of me, cause I was probably blocking her view!
Well, I went to a Halloween 'thing' last night, saw way too many nurses, a couple fairies, and Bigfoot! Swear to God, this guy was 8 feet tall, he was on stilts, and he almost toppled over on top of me...and then......the most handsome man came to my rescue! Basic black, eyelashes, cleavage, working like a charm....
ok, snap back to reality, as eminem would say...Elvis(Scrappy) and I are waiting for the kiddles...
and to the rest of my family, keep your prayers coming, my son and I have reached an uneasy peace, he is going to counseling with me tomorrow, and hopefully he will come back home as well...

Hey, Kairee!
I am ashamed to admit i AM the Moron and dumbass attitude person to which you refer! But in my own defense, i do have to drive in New jersey right outside of NY, so technically, it's not an attitude, it happens to be a fact! These people for the most part are dumbasses and morons!
No offense to any other NJ'ers here, i'm sure you are excellent drivers!! just like me!!! hee hee

Oh and to that person who was talking about Courtney Love in Portland that time she came with Manson, my cousin was allowed, along with people from other radio stations from around the state, to interview her (hope that makes sense). Anyway I guess she was such a grouch at the time that they were told in advance what NOT to ask about and some guy did anyway and it was pretty bad. Since my cousin is the only person I know personally who has met her it's probably gonna take a lot for me to really give her another chance. Although hearing from Dave that she honestly is doing better is a start.

Hi Lori_in_IL,
You mentioned ebay before....I'm an ebay shopper myself, mostly for unique,
hard-to-find & vintage items. Notice how many fashion designers have been copying vintage clothing & leather bags lately? Not too many folks have an extra $500.00 to throw around for a leather bag! lol On ebay, you can always find the original vintage styles for much much less.
Occasionally, I buy the odd CD or video/DVD there. The way I figure it, as far as the older music items for sale there, somewhere down the line someone had to have bought the items they are selling or they're an unwanted gift...they're just being re-sold on ebay.
A friend makes a very good living selling new stuff on ebay. He & his wife quit their computer consulting jobs to become ebay Sellers. So they must be doing very well. He sells new CDs, music DVDs, vinyl & music t-shirts.
He gets the items from a distribution company which also sells to small indie music stores. So, yes Lori, don't worry, the artists are getting their cuts on these ebay sales~~!!
take care,
itanja

itanja,
Thanks for the post! I love Ebay, more so when I have the money to spend! :) I normally don't buy things like cd's or dvd's, etc. I did, however, think I was getting a good deal on Queer as Folk seasons 1-3 on DVD. It stated they were the "Asian version release." Seller was asked if they were bootlegged or legit, and she was adament that they were NOT bootlegged. So, I bid and won. I was thrilled because buying them new in the US is expensive. Well, I later found out from Showtime that they are indeed bootlegged. So, everyone involved with the show will see none of the money from the MANY DVD sets they were selling. I would never intentionally rip off the artist, and I truly felt bad about it. I guess that's why I am now worried about someone else making money of a celeb's name. I guess as far as the DVD's and CDs that ARE legit go, they did have to buy them before having them to sell on Ebay.

Hi Lori_in_IL
Well ebay is obviously not doing a very good job of banning Sellers from selling counterfeit items on ebay. ebay is just as greedy as the next guy. Fraud is rampant as ebay.
As a shopper, I guess you have to do your own research. If something seems too good to be true, your feelings are probably correct.
There was report on local TV about a guy buying his wife a 'cheap' Hermes bag for 'only' $1,000, it was suppossedly the $9,000 bag! Hey, if you are crazy enough to spend that much for a piece of leather you deserve to get ripped off! I do laugh at people obsessed with designer label stuff. You are basically giving these designers free advertising plus you get to pay for doing so.
Anyway, the Buyer went 'outside' the ebay system & bought the bag directly from the Seller privately. The lying Seller offered the Buyer a few dollars off, so he wouldn't have to pay all the extra ebay charges. Of course, the $1,000 'Hermes' bag was a fake. Well, DUH!
The local NBC consumer affairs TV guy tried to get the Buyers money back to no avail. ebay couldn't help either because the Buyer went outside the ebay system.
happy shopping~~!!

itanja,
I actually found the Ebay Answer Center awhile ago, which is a member to member message board where you can ask questions. I have learned quite a bit there since my QAF DVD fiasco. I really was ignorant to all of the rip off artists on Ebay before then. Thankfully, pretty much all of my transactions have been good ones!

emily,
It has been...wow...11 years since I went to his gravesite. That was 2 years after he died I do believe, and the amount of flowers and stuffed animals and letters left there was just amazing. We also drove by his house, where the car that Michael Jackson bought for him still sat in the driveway. It really was an emotional trip for sure.

bienvenue Yann!
Freak you got to preview the site?? oh the perks that come with being a main agent :0) lucky bugger.
good lord that must be a huge project to create an entire site...
We're thinking of switching message boards at the Chili Peppers site and that's going be quite a bit of work if it happens. I wonder which message board the Panic Channel site will have. One thing I'll tell you now is Infopop has way too many bugs and is not very user friendly on the control panel.

Hi all!
Emily~You shouldn't feel like a lazy ass because of the morning question, I'm soo much worse than you are! (and now I feel lazy too! :p)
So I've figured I'm going to post the questionaire here, as I never did get around to mailing it to anyone (does this get me off the hook? :)
1. What time do you get up? Usually between 11am-1pm...

19. Favorite brand of clothing? Juicy/Yanuk (soo comfy :)
20. What color is your bathroom? Green/white with golden details (not my choice :p)
21. Where would you go to retire to? Right where I am. I plan on building myself a house somewhere on the property some day.
22. Favorite day of the week? Ummm...I think Thursday, because that used to be the only day of the week I had a full day at uni. Of couse I didn't go, but to this day I always make sure to have Thursdays off "because I have to go to uni" :p Oh, I usually take mondays off too. Ah, what am I talking about, I take every day off :p
24. Where were you born? Drammen, Norway.
25. Favorite sport to watch? I despise sports... You know how you can have a porn filter on your computer? 26. Who do you least expect to send this back to you? N/A
27. Person you expect to send it back first? N/A

Hope yer all well!
