Just wanted to remind everyone that Dave is on Howard Stern the day after tomorrow (Monday).. for those in LA 97.1 I believe airs it live from New York (3am to 7am then rerun it until 11am). If I'm guessing correctly, he's on at 8:30 am NYC time, which is 5:30 am California time... then 9:30 am is the rerun in Cali.

Hi Dave,
umm, ok, I will ask this. How did you know you were in the right place to start a relationship? Was it meeting THAT particular person?
Two men have asked me out today, and those in the family who have met me, I am sure will be shaking their heads when I say I told them both no.
I don't believe in fate, or chance, but I do believe we can't choose someone to be our soulmate, it has to be mutual, and that's pretty much what my whole faith in God is wrapped up in. I believe that if I believe in him, he will make sure I have what I need.
Right now I am fighting an addiction, substitute for something, that's why I believe once an addict, always an addict, i just need to find the right addiction
Anyway, thanks Dave, for allowing me to be here. I have met more great people in the last three weeks, than I have in three years. Whenever two or more, indeed...

Posted by: jezebel at October 2, 2004 05:14 PM
To Slubby: I'm not an addict is not a Jane's song. It's a song by Belgium band K's Choice. On the p2p programs it's shared as a Jane's song. Don't know why. The sound is nothing like Jane's. Good song though.

Hey Dave,
Is there a place I can download or at least just get the lyrics to "She Won't Last"?
Thanks!

that nails it! I've had some very negative stuff happen this year and the past couple of months this place has been one of the only positive things in my life. And given me a reason to be positive, and inspired me to start working on my own music again. I hope to join in the next online jam. people here blow me away with their support for each other. hats off to the familly. and Dave, thank you, you are an inspiration, as a musican, and a person. you've inspired "shoot", this comunity. and so much more.
ok i'm done with all the sob talk. Rock out tonight on CF. I'm off to a friends gig, so once again I won't be listening, but hey I'll check FreAk's site tomorrow.

I posted this on the last entry but since Dave closed it shortly after I wanted to make sure people see it :)
Hi All :)
After lurking around here for a while now with nothing really to say I figured since there are so many people asking about getting copies of the book signed I'd offer to help you out. :)
I plan on attending the signing in Ridgewood, NJ and I stopped by there today to find out if there's a limit on the amount of books I can get signed, and they told me that there isn't a limit just as long as I wasn't talking about 50 copies of the book for myself (which would just SCREAM e-bay).
So now I'm offering to pick up the book for any 6767er out there who unfortunately lives too far away from any of the signings to get a copy signed for themselves... Just feel free to send me an e-mail or IM me on AIM(wetodd3029) if you'd like to figure out how to do this.
I'm thinking that the easiest way (considering the signing is on Thursday) is for you to just paypal me the money, but of course that's open for dicussion.
I'm thinking as far as price it would be something like this: $29.95 for the book + $1.80 NJ sales tax + $3.85 for the priority mail flat rate (US Residents) which would bring the total to $35.60...I'm not looking to make a penny...i just want to help out some fellow fans...if the book ends up being cheaper i'll send you back your change :)
I don't know anything about international rates or currency conversion but I'm willing to help those of you oversees too! :)
Have a Great Day!
~Marg :)
P.S. Whoever was looking for a cheap hotel in NY I can help you out with some advice...
and Whoever was asking about the Scar Tissue signings, just google it, that's how I found out about this signing before it was posted here. :)

Hi cori,
>>I gotta say...I must dispute the theory that the bio section and chatting, etc. is a "online dating"....not true Dave...not at all, IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU!!! :D<<
I THINK Dave & the guys was talking about some website called MySpace, he wasn't talking about THIS weblog. Then some females called in who have their photos up at this website.
The guys sounded really horny tonight, lotza sex talk. LOOOL
take care,

Whooops, Cori....
"Then some females called in who have their photos up at this website."
I meant to say, THAT website; MySpace.
Posted by: itanja at October 2, 2004 08:05 PM
woohoo Abby, congrats girl!! :) it was great hanging out with fellow 6767 peeps on MSN.
Dave, that was a pretty cool show man, shoot was played and everything! Wish I had some cool stories like Matt so I could have called in, but I do have some crazy jokes.. maybe next time I'll call in tell some :) or maybe i'll tell one on my next post on here.
I've read Anthony's book too and the structure is interesting.. he tells stories and reflects on them and goes over what he did right and what he did wrong.. laying all these issues out in a thoughtful way. I would definitely say it's a great 'how to' for people wanting to stop their addictions. It also explains a lot for those who have never even seen or tried drugs before. He ends it on a high note with a chapter entitled "a moment of clarity". He wants to throw it all away one more time but then sees Buster, his gorgeous rhodesian ridgeback dog and realizes he's never seen him high. good stuff, with interesting stories of volatile and crazy relationships with girls.
my personal favorite in there was when during the OHM era when you went to play in the north pole or way up in canada or something.. he cracked up then and the way he describes it... hahaha! I'm sure you'll read it, don't want to give too much away.

here's a joke you might not have heard..
warning: the following material may be suitable only for adults.
A blonde went into a world wide message center to send a message to her mother overseas. When the man told her it would cost $300, she exclaimed: "I don't have any money. But I'd do ANYTHING to get a message to my mother,"
The man arched an eyebrow (as we would expect) , "anything?", he asked. "Yes, yes, anything," the blonde promised.
"Well then, just follow me," said the man as he walked towards the next room. The blonde did as she was told and followed the man.
"Come in and close the door," the man said. She did. He then said "Now get on your knees." She did. "Now take down my zipper." She did. "Now go ahead ... take it out ...," he said. She reached in and grabbed it with both hands ... then paused. The man closed his eyes and whispered, "Well... go ahead,"
The blonde slowly brought her mouth closer to it and while holding it close to her lips, tentatively said..........
"Hello, Mom can you hear me?"
hehehe
:0)

These are my confessions:
I have two sets of lyrics running through my head simultaneously,
one is the panic channel manifesto
(ok, jerry maguire memo)
To the haunted, to the outsider, to the unloved,to the alone. Come now and invest the switch wiht your power.
Your triumphs shall be our triumphs.Your sorrows shall be shared...
*hi eric, youaremystrongestweakness *
and the other one is this song I was going to sing for tix tonight
I woke up this morning with a bad hangover
And my penis was missing again.
This happens all the time.
It's detachable.

I believe it was shane who said something about meeting a lot of great people on here...i would so have to agree...i've met great people like whitepony, ellen, jezzi, and cori among others...this is such a tightknit community and the vibe here is so awesome. i just wanted to say thanks for creating an environment for me to escape to when things arent so good...at least over here i'll find numerous positive things each day...and the people i have met and talk to almost everyday are other parts of making my days brighter...so thank you for this great site, but even more so, for getting to know a really diverse, great, NICE, group of people

CONGRATULATIONS to our 6767 family members who put SHOOT together!!! As mentioned on the MSN chat, did you make history on this song?? Has music been put together this way before?? What a great job, you can tell that each of you put a lot of thought and talent into it.
In the chat people talked about wanting to hear more feedback about SHOOT with specifics for future projects--I hope people already in the industry will take the time to do that.
Dave, that was an excellent intro to the song, with great comments from, was that Billy?
Dang, I'm just gonna bust i'm so thrilled you guys are breakin ground with this stuff.
I am SO proud to know you guys,

It was fun gang...thanks!

Hi Cori,
LOL, talk about not being able to multi-task.....I couldn't even listen, tape the show & type.
I was taping the show off the Net with a microphone plugged into a cassette deck! Talk about LO-Fi~! We really need this show to be on a NYC radio station! Or I need to get a burner very soon!
Oh yes.....I should have written; "Dave & the guys WERE talking about..." Not: "Dave & the guys WAS talking about."
Hey, it's been a long time since I was in school.
Have a good night!

hi family...
i have a question for everyone. recently, each of my parents called me a "groupie" because of how much i have been getting into this site. honestly, i was offended... are we GROUPIES!?!? Dave, is that what you would consider us? i'm not sure that there's a name for what we are yet. this whole online "family" concept is much too new. there is a different dynamic. i feel a research topic coming on...

Posted by: Doug at October 3, 2004 03:40 AM
I'm so glad you guys had fun listening to ShooT at CFR last night, I so wish I could've joined you guys!
(it's not too easy getting to spend saturday night infront of my computer, my friends would hate me. Bah!)
I checked FreAk's site to see if he'd put a clip from last night's show up, but he hadn't. *pouts* Hope he will (you will, won't you, FreAk? :)
Oh, and SnoWhite~ Being called a groupie for posting on a weblog is a bit harsh. I once looked the word "groupie" up in the dictionary, and it said it was "someone who followed a band around". And according to that definition, I guess I would be one (as I've traveled to both the US and the UK to attend various shows in the past) But the meaning I think most people put in the word is someone who'll do just about anything to hang with a band (and you know what I'm talkin about ;) and either way you wouldn't be one just for hanging at this site. So buy yer parents a dictionary and keep on coming here cause we need all the 6767'ers we can get :)
Bah, the phone's ringing.
Have a good one, everyone!

Hey folks, just a friendly reminder. If you're going to be at least 18 on or before Nov 4th, the deadline to register to vote is upon us; some states' deadlines have already passed, some are expiring tomorrow (Monday, the 4th). Please take the time to register to vote here:
http://www.rockthevote.com/rtv_primaries.php?
If anything, the last election proved that your vote does actually matter, even if Gore got screwed. Hurry!
^Oh, and Doug? Dave is my man crush too! I'd gladly hop the fence :).

i was wondering, what's the difference between a poem and a songlyric..?
i've written some things that were meant to be lyrics, but somehow they look more like weird poems to me...maybe because i don't play any instrument. when you play an instrument you can combine the words to a melody.
or perhaps songs are poems but brought at a different way. so that would mean that the things i ve written are actually poems AND songlyrics. they can be what ever you want them to be. oeh, that's a nice thought!
what do you guys think?

hey all
haven't posted in a while but i was moved to see luiz's post, since hes not that much around lately
i just wanted to say Oh shit
that's it
i mean i spend most of the dayt listening to different types of music, not necesarily rock music, just music... but everytime i take a second tolisten to TNO, that's all i can come up with
"Oh, shit"
so i drop TNO, i get to work and while on my pc i download the Go on clip... and once again "OH shit"
so last night i was on CFR... and i was on the phone with a friend... and i had to hang up on him just to listen to Shoot... and all i could come up with is "oh, shit"...
not only you fucking rock, not only you are one hot motherfucker, not only you are a vivid example of how a man can straighten his own life up, but you inspire people from around the world to create pieces of such beauty as Shoot, which good rock, man... so i guess that's all i can say
Oh shit...
i'm really breathless
i want in on the next jam
i really love this place
peace

W O W!!!
what more can be said about the energy here?
Groupies? hmmm Sarah I think you are right that there really isn't yet a name for this, there are many different types of people here, people who are here for many different reasons, the only thing we all have in common is that each of us have been touched by Dave in some way.
Dave you have shown that the "Star" can be a "Fan" too
....you're a fan of your fans, that sounds strange out loud, but isn't that what you are?
Posted by: Cynthia at October 3, 2004 09:12 AM
Hey, DAVE
Will you accept some humble suggestions of songs for CF to play...? (Luiz blushes)
OK, here they are...
Suede - ANIMAL NITRATE (I think that would fit Donovan´s style very well)
Stone Temple Pilots - DOWN (the guitar on this song is just so brutal, I love it!)
BOWIE - Moonage Daydream (so fuck*ng great if you guys could ever play that!)
and finally....
Break on through (just because it´s my favorite DOORS tune...!) :o)
Thanks a lot, DAVE!
Love ya!
Luiz.

Hey DN Family,
If you are going to the Astor Place Barnes & Noble book signing on Monday here is some info. I called the store and they said that they will be handing out bracelets at 11am for the 7:30pm signing. My suggestion is to get them early and start the line. We could watch each others spot in line when one of us has to go to the potty.
I hope to see a lot of you tomorrow. I don't remember who made the suggestion the other day, but it would be a good idea if we wear "my name is..." tags on our shirts and have "6767" written in black ink or marker on our hands (not palms) .
SnoWhite, if you are a groupie then most of us are too. I don't believe that we are groupies, unless you slept with Dave in the backstage at a concert.
Later,
Mike from NYC

to hector from previous thread, don't heavy hand me with your own self importance. I never read your suggestion, but maybe YOU should look back awhile ago, and see that I in fact suggested getting tattoo's, besides, I sent the idea directly to dave way back, way before posting it on here anyway... the marker idea is for those less willing to permanently broadcast their allegiance (or deface their skin etc...)...if you read the point of my post (how it's IMPOSSIBLE to read all the post's), then maybe you could have put 1 + 1 together, and realized "Gee he must not have seen my post..." So, thanks for helping me make my point. Enough of the bad vibes already....if someone has the same idea as you, instead of playing king of the hill, think of it more as great mind's think alike...i mean we're obviously fan's of these particular artist's, so we can't be idiot's, we're of like mind in some sense, and need not play these games. I'm too old for these internet battles... especially among people i hope to consider my extended family... the keyword is "community", not "Competition"... peace
BTW- Anyone who wants to chat about music, movies, fashion, life, death, or anything in between, i'm EUPHORICXRECALL on AIM (notice the X in between).
Love peace and the panic channel
Posted by: Adrock at October 3, 2004 09:46 AM
just curious...but does anyone else agree that one thing that was sorely missing from the later incarnation's of Jane's, was that tribal sense of community??? We were all in it together. I think it has more to do with the state of the world, and how people relate to each other (the fan's that is), as opposed to anything the band did...or didn't do. Anyone else agree? disagree???
