CL @ The Wiltern
Today CFR (Morrison and I) will be broadcasting live from The Wiltern theater in Los Angeles where Courtney Love will be performing later in the evening. Joining us will be Billy Duffy from The Cult and Juliet Lewis. Tune in if you can, hopefully we can get Courtney to stop by the show. In the spirit of Halloween, I think I am going to be the bunny kid from the movie Gummo. My wife hasn't decided yet. She might be a nurse or my "Bunny" wife. We aren't certain, but it is looking like... bunnies. Playboy and Gummo style.

Nice choice with the costume my friend...

DAVE!!!!! ---Ah, yes, I remember that movie well, very odd....but that idea ROCKS! I think you mentioned in your book how fond your wife was of the 'edginess' of movies like Gummo...But, personally, I think YOU should go as the Playboy bunny, and Carmen can be the Bunny kid...what do YOU think?
Me, I am desperately trying to get Scrappy to keep his Vegas Elvis costume on long enough to take a picture, I fear he will try to kill me in my sleep tonight, or at least eat my favorite pair of shoes....
My costume tip....remember, basic black, eyelashes and cleavage.....anything goes from there!!
jezebel(and his hair was PERFECT...name that spooky tune)

hallo to everyone! and, obviously, happy halloween.
Dave, good choice for your costume.
P.S. I totally agree with Heather Wood in her comments dated 28/10/04 11:53 pm. Bye Heather you're fantastic!
P.S. 2: In my previous comments to Crecencia I've made a BIG mistake! I write "hungry" instead of "angry". Very sorry but when I'm talking about Dave, I go "out of head".

hello Dave and all,
just came from Prague where me and my wife spent last week on our vacations. what a wonderful city! you must see it Dave. in my opinion Vienna is far away behind Prague. it's so warm, cozy and subtle city. great place to visit. great week.
anyway, now back to work from tueday. Steve mentioned you're out of studio till December. is that true? does that mean no record before the end of the year? any plans w/ recording and releasing CD?
hope you have great Halloween party!
love,
Obvious

Hi Dave.,
So ,i was just wondering your thoughts on a cf episode with Cormac Battle?.
Till later............................
Posted by: DAVE gEFOW at October 30, 2004 10:16 AM
Hi all!
Dave~Carmen should go as your bunny whife, a nurse and a bunny is just twisted ;)
I'm not going to celebrate Halloween, not too many people do here in Oslo. Which is probably just as well, as the only costume I own is a pink gingham costume that isn't suited to be worn in public. Ahem.
I hope I can stay awake until CFR, it's been a pretty hard day and although it's only 7.30pm, I want to go to sleep.
I'm officially unemployed now, woo hoo...
Hope everyone is doing well.

Bunny! Aww..Dave, that's funny, scary, and cute combined. I think Carmen would look fantastic, no matter what kind of ears you stick on her. Hope you have a great show. Take care everyone, & have a safe yet goulish night!

I just wanted to stop in and wish everyone a very Happy Halloween! Trick or Treating is tonight for us, so we'll be out in the massive blowing wind for some candy. Hopefully my little fishtank doesn't fly away! Halloween itself will more than likely be spent doing homework. Ugh, I am 29 years old...I'm too old for homework I think! LOL That's what I get for waiting so long to go to college!
Enjoy your Halloween everyone!

haha the bunny kid would be a great costume!
I have to say I am so looking forward to the Panic Channel shows. Will there be shirts and stickers for sale?
I'm loving the 'getting to know you' emails. Nothing better than a blog to get to know someone though.. speaking of which I have some pics up on mine. Hopefully I'll get one up of me in my costume.
Have a great weekend all!

Hi jezzi,
>>and his hair was PERFECT<<
That would be from "Werewolves of London" by the late, great Warren Zevon.
You're going to have to come up with more obscure clues for these song lyric contests!
Have a groovy Halloween~~!!

Posted by: jezebel at October 30, 2004 03:01 PM
Come on, Jez... you can do better than that.
Darkness falls across the land
The midnite hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y’awl’s neighbourhood
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse’s shell
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzy ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller
Hahahahahaha.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
RIP Vincent Price.

Try this one:
I wander through your sadness gazing at you with scorpion eyes
Oops... I dressed up as ME for my last post.
Posted by: NightBird at October 30, 2004 03:16 PM
Will you hate me if I say Paula Cole? (And will you hate me if I admit that I had no clue what that one was, and I google cheated?) :-)
Posted by: NightBird at October 30, 2004 03:19 PM
NO Cheating, or else, or else or...I don't know, cheat if you want, but download that song, woman, because it is guaranteed to make anyone HOT...it's my seduction song......
Posted by: jezebel at October 30, 2004 03:20 PM
Off to rummage through my closet to get Halloween gussied....
Posted by: NightBird at October 30, 2004 03:21 PM
I have that soundtrack, mostly for Uninvited. I haven't listened to it in years. I will go dust it off. Ms. Jezebel, are you trying to seduce me? (she says in her best young Dustin Hoffman imitation voice, which isn't very good... because I don't do good impressions of men)
Posted by: NightBird at October 30, 2004 03:25 PM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, not you, my pretty, but I must say, that's a no=fail seduction song, and Halloween is the best time to explore fantasies, just my personal tip to all my ladies out there, I am talking to my Colorado friend right now, the webcam is really a poor substitute for real thing, but, he will be here in time for Panic Channel....He makes me feel love, love, love,
shh, don't tell him that....
jezebel(I do that Mrs. Robinson leg and cigarette thing pretty well, though)
Posted by: jezebel at October 30, 2004 03:34 PM
HI jezzi,
Yes, it's Paula Cole & I only knew that because she just sang on that cute blond trumpet guys(Chris Botti) new CD! I am not all that familiar with her newer stuff.
Check out her vocal on his new CD of standards. She did Irving Berlin's "What'll I Do?" with Chris Botti. Not exactly a rockin' album, it's for those 'special moments'! lol Check it out!
Hi NightBird,
"I wander through your sadness gazing at you with scorpion eyes:...that's from some Siouxsie song, it's been so long since I put on one of their albums~~!!
I came across 'Standing There' (Creatures) in my CD import EP collection the other day when was trying to organize them. My CDs are all over the place! I had originally separated them by full length CDs & EPs, no wonder I didn't remember I had that song!
take care,
itanja

Yeah Gummo! Go Dave!
Is there ny killer Halloween Parties you are going to? If so can you let us in on the gossip.
If I was going to dress up I was going to go as Micheal Myers from the "Halloween" movies if I only knew where they sold the mask.
Hi Itanja
whats going on with you? Have any halloween plans yet?

The bunny kid freakin rocks! You gonna take a skateboard and the accordion Dave? One of my favorite movies of all time, one hilarious flick. Fav part-real cockroaches in the "drinking" house that you can see crawling up the wall in the background. "Well I love that little rooster and that rooster loves me...cocka-DOODLE-DOO!" If you're not from the US, or even the South, that's really how it is here (filmed in Nashville), only much worse. :)
Posted by: Zingale at October 30, 2004 06:38 PM
I've never heard of Gummo, and since it looked rather interesting, I payed the website a visit. There, I found this description of the film:
"Venomous in story; genius in character; victorious in structure; teasingly gentle in epilogue; slapstick in theme; rebellious in nature; honest at heart; inspirational in its creation and with contempt at the tip of its tongue..."
...sounds a lot like a description of Dave, doesn't it? ;)

Dave,
What were you doing wearing little silver shorts with Courtney Love?
Posted by: Pinhead at October 30, 2004 07:32 PM
Hey, just listened to CFR for only the second time, and it just blows all my preconceived notions away!! You CAN be sober and still have fun!!! I feel an overwhelming urge to give Steve Jones a big hug, and Courtney, the thing about being pudgy is that you have better cleavage!!!
Hey, Dave, just in case you have time for Sunday questions, tell us how many people were able to guess who you were without you having to tell them...and did you find an accordion?
My colorado friend's favorite suicide girl is Apnea....Reason number 67498 why we will never be together...I don't have a tattoo, and there is an oxymoron about being called a suicide girl and still be walking around, I just don't get it.
and one more thing, while I am complaining, Camp Freddy is playing in VEGAS? the day after my birthday? and I can't go? *sniff, sniff*
jezzi(how will you EVER make it up to me?)
Posted by: jezebel at October 30, 2004 08:02 PM
Yeah that was the first time I've heard CFR and thought it was awesome. I wish I could listen to it more but I usually dont have computer access on a regular basis. Oh yeah my favorite suicide girl is Spade. Someone sent me pics of her awhile ago and I think she is damn sexy
Posted by: Pinhead at October 30, 2004 08:15 PM
Don't feel bad Jez, you're not alone. The show is 2 days before my birthday and I won't be there either. I think that entitles the both of us to an extra sliver of cake. :)
Is anyone else having trouble with the C.F. website? I get the message that it no longer exists??? Can't be true...
Spreading the love,
Deena

Hey Deena,
Just logged on to the CF website, no problem.
http://www.campfreddy.net/
Btw, are you chatting tonight? I still can't log on to your Panic Chat.
Perhaps it's a weird combo of my Road Runner connection, using Internet Explorer & having a Mac?? When I used Netscape as my browser it connected for a few seconds then kept crashing each time I tried to re-connect. ?????
take care,
itanja

i've been in a weird manson mood for like 4 days straight listening to almost nothing but manson...maybe i'll dress up like him for halloween...i've already got the pale ass white skin and stuff...so why not lol...i'm sure it would be fun :-)

Camp Freddy on Nov. 4th in Vegas??? Is this another private show??? Have I been sleeping all this time again?? Jezzy where did you hear this?
Posted by: wendybird at October 30, 2004 09:29 PM
Dave~I really enjoyed CFR tonight. Thank you. Thanks to everyone else who was there and stopped by. I love people's little stories they tell. :D
I felt pretty huggy too. Like Jez said.
Jez~True about the better cleavage. Yet, I loathe bras. I refuse to wear them. What should I do? Dave, do you know?
Here's a little tale from me. I was out shopping for Halloween stuff, and looking at costumes. I saw these really cool long wigs. So I said, I want one, whether I wear it as my Halloween costume or not. And my family with me laughed, and told me I didn't need the long black hair wig, because my hair already looked like that. Oo
I'm having a hair cut now.
Love Lisa xxxx

PPS. Now, I have a Gummo clue, because I looked it up on google.
Cool.
The best costume I've done for Halloween, was my roommate at college and I went as the two girls haunting the hotel in The Shining. Pretty creep.
People kept saying, awww, what cute dresses, then they'd see fake blood, and go, "Oh my god, you ruined such a beautiful dress!" Had to explain what we were over and over though.

I just wanted to ask what do you think about Hanoi Rocks? .... you know ...the band.
The band is from Finland but at the middle of 80´s it was the first one to came up in LA rock scene... It´s funny that Finland had one of the best glamrock band in LA...
The band broke up because mötley crue singer vince neil was so fucked up that he crashed the car in high speed while drinking among other stuff and the drummer of Hanoi Rocks called Razzle died... so the band broke up. But their record are still great nowadays. They got the the same producer as Jane's... The magic man Bob Ezrin..

CFR cracks me up, always get a few good laughs from times i have tuned in. Dave stated that "The Phoenix" by The Cult was one of his fave all-time tunes and that Camp Freddy should play it sometime soon...booyaa. Always wished Jane's and Cult would have toured together...CF will have to do!

Carmen's my girl and all but a bunny(?!) - very unoriginal. She's a bunny everyday of the year! She should have been Punky Brewster on crack ... or something. :D
