ATTN: 6767 PEOPLE GOING TO THE NYC CAMP FREDDY SHOW AT IRVING PLAZA ON THE 21ST!!!

Here are the preshow meetup plans as they currently stand:

What:
6767 people who want to meet, hang out, chat, eat/drink/dine, and have photos taken in a replica of the DTTAH photo booth before the Campy Freddy show at Irving Plaza. Yes, that's right, this restaurant has a working photo booth that looks just like the one in DTTAH! Come hang out, even if you don't feel like eating (just order water or something).

Where:
Lemon Restaurant
230 Park Ave SOUTH (19th street, just a few blocks from Union Square and Irving Plaza)
New York, New York 10003

Map: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?city=New+York&state=NY&address=230+Park+Ave+S+&zip=10003&country=us&zoom=8

When: October 21st, around 5:30pm or 6pm.

Why: Because we can!

So far everyone likes the plan, but if anyone wants to add/change something to it, let it be known! We should be able to accomodate all attending. I'll post a link to a page with all the info tomorrow. :)

Rock on,
- Sean

OMG - do you know what was waiting on my door stoop when I got home? My signed copy of DTTAH!!! Dave, I ran my fingers over the inscription and you signature just so I could feel a little bit closer.

I did not have much chance to read it as family was home. But as I was skimming through it, my 8 yr old stood behind me and said "Mommy, what does . . . " and asked me the meaning of a word. It was not a bad word. But the next one might have been - and I am not ready to deal with that yet!

Friday night the house is mine and I plan to make a major dent in it. But from what I have already read, my prayers go to you to keep you on the better path. Your story IS and WILL be influential for along time.

Thank you for being on CPS - you have developed a new fan base from that show.

Disappointed that my cable carrier does not have GSN - so I will be missing Celebrity Blackjack.

Set my VCR tonight so I can watch you while I read my book!

Always,
me

P.S. As I was getting ready for work this morning, I picked up my book. I lost track of time and was almost late for work! I just wanted to see my name and yours in your handwriting.

6767's

Dave-Good morning, I hope you and everybody/6767 community & TPC Ladies are doing well. I hope the studios thing with the guys is going full gear. Looking forward to the updates. Hey-Jezzi are you going to BookSoup tonight? I wanted to tell you that I can't make it, too many work commitments. Oh... the world of social work, sometimes it's good and sometimes well I won't go there. Anyway, if you are going I hope you have a blast. Please tell Dave "hello" for me. Take care.

Incredibly organized Sean...

I love Lemon. Haven't been there in a looong time though. Great choice.

Work holds me hostage until 6pm, Monday through Friday, so I'll try to make it to the pre-show meetup. But, alas, I work in Westchester, and it will take me a good hour or so to haul my butt to the city. How can I identify my 6767 peeps at the show if I don't get to Lemon in time?

Posted by: Adina at October 14, 2004 10:12 AM

Hello Everyone.

Dave, don't trip, its all good. As long as your love is here we don't mind that you don't stop by. Just make it up by making an awsome album.

To everyone who is going tonight, good luck getting in. And tell Dave that I said Hi and I love him.;-p Wish I was there. Take care everyone.

much love, CC

Adina,

Good question! Hmm, well at the NYC book signing two weeks ago, we wore X's of some kind. I had one on my hand in black tape, Rob had a giant silver X across his shirt, and I think some people used a marker. That seemed to work since Dave immediately recognized us as 6767ers. So maybe we can do that again.

Heheh, if you walk in and see a bunch of people lining up at the photo booth by the door, there's a good chance it's us.

Ah! I thought of it! When I come in, I'll just tell the matredee that if anyone shows up asking for the 6767 party, to send them over to the table we're sitting at! That should work. Cool.

Peace,
- Sean

Good Morning Dave and Family!

Dave....I share the sentiment of the rest of the family; thrilled that you are in the studio and certainly don't resent the fact that you are there and not here...there is much more important! ;)

"Just pick up D's book, open it, and wherever i open it, i read that chapter and take that lesson with me for that day..."

Very nice idea Adrock!!! There isn't a single chapter in that book that isn't inspiring. I was so anxious for the book the first time that I speed read through it, now I'm reading it a second time, slowly and really letting it sink in, then I think I'll try your great idea!

Anyway...happy Thursday family! Book Soup peeps, have a great time and don't forget, everyone, Dave on Carson Daily's show tonight! (and then Carmen on the next one!) Peace :D

hey sean...i'm totally in for lemon (my sister will be joining me)...and we should all exchange cells...it worked with me, ellen, itanja, and denise at the book signing...just click on my name and it'll link you to my e-mail address.

and dave no worries about not coming in...in fact...i think you post a lot...and plus it's all for a good reason...TPC...i can't wait for that record...just like with the book...i'm going to buy two copies...one for me...and one for lending out (yes i own two copies of the book...one is signed though...lol...and i've already convinced two people to buy a book for themselves just by lending them it...and they're like "i have to have this in my collection") so it's all good.

can't wait for camp freddy in NYC?

doesn't all this traveling back and forth from east coast to west coast have major jet lag effects?

hello all

I have decided to switch my panic agent name.. i will be panic agent hollywood mouse. or maybe panic agent NoHo..

Misty and Brett- any time you come up to hollywood be sure to look me up. You should come up for the weekend sometime or something and we can hang out.

So last night I went to see the impromptu Velvet Revolver gig. I got out of work and was debating if I should go straight there or jet home and change and maybe grab a bite to eat.. i decided to jet home and by the time i got there there was already a long line wrapped around the block.. They set up the stage in what looks like a parking lot on the corner.. I walked all the way around past the entrance and the tour bus where i caught a glimpse of Matt Sorum and passed all the people to the end of the line. waited a bit and the line kept moving until I was almost at the entrance. Then they said they had reached full capacity and couldn't let anyone else in. they had the area where the tour bus was blocked off so people could go in and out of it and I couldn't go take a short cut around to the back to get a good spot to watch from the street so I had to go all the way around the block the other way....
I got a spot on the curb and watched from there. A lot of people were out watching from the street or from the top of nearby buildings. They only played for an hour and tore the place UP! they of course played Slither and Fall to Pieces.. and the last song was a cover that sounded familiar but I couldn't tell ya what it was. They had some ladies dancing which brought me back to when I saw Jane's Addiction.
A cop parked his motorcycle in front of me and a guy behind me put a small bottle of liquor on the back of it... haha

hope everyone has a good day! I'll be heading out to the orthodontist shortly to get the braces tightened which means I won't be able to chew anything for the next few days. :(

Deena, silly question perhaps, but how on earth does that chatroom work? you posted the link but i don't get it. maybe because i ve never been in one of those, or maybe i m just dumb..help

i'll be home alone for the next week and a half, so that's great. i'll have the computer to myself....i ll be spending too much time on this site, and start talking to myself...

ohw Dave, i can't wait for that record!! my heart always makes a little jump when i see you've posted something. even if it's a picture or a few words.
the same goes when i hear something about you or your wife on the radio or see you on the tv. it always makes my day, always
damn, i have to order that book..Emma, ORDER IT AS SOON AS YOU CAN!!!

okay, i'm gonna enjoy the fact that i'm all alone now, and my eyes hurt so i'm going to bed early today. and then it's friday, whoehoe. and after that my autumnbreak begins
have a wonderfull day everyone, love, emma

Hey Dave. Much luck to you guys !!
I have a doubt: on this album won´t you
use some other guitar to record?
Or the same PRS? Just curiosity...
Talk a little bit about your preferences
on effects for this album, please if you
can..

Thanx again man. Luck for everybody !!

Maria-Thanks for the invitation. That would be alot of fun. Maybe for the next TPC show we could all "TPC Ladies and everybody else" skip out of school/work and meet up early. It would be better than the last time where I was way too early and kick'in it on the street corner on Santa Monica BLVD-(Jezz-I know your laughing right now as you read this lol.) Well, I now know what my letter to the magazine said - they called me and it is being published this weekend. AND they informed me that my local paper picked up on me being the writer and now they want to talk to me.

This began with Celebrity Poker Showdown -

Hi all!

Just saw Dave on Conan and liked it a lot! Why not earlier? 'Coz they don't air the episodes in Finland until like a week or so after they've aired in the U.S. Anyway, it was nice to see it, and it sure cheered me up as I've been so down the past weeks because of troubles with my girlfriend which led her to move out and eventually led us to break up :(

Still haven't got hold of DTTAH but don't jugde, I'm going to get it tomorrow (in case it's out). It seems like good reading to me right now as it's ultimately a book about hope (or so I've learned). Just gotta "adapt" the things to my current situation. Hope I can draw something from there.

Dave, great to hear TPC has found the right gear to record and the band thrives. It just seems so amazing. Not exactly your stereotype of rock stars, is it?! I mean, it seems like you get up at six to rehearse and record and finally call it a day at dusk. Do you know many other musicians who work as hard as you guys? Well, I guess it gives you every right to call yourselves pros! Keep up the good work 'cos I'm really looking forward to your stuff.

Take care, everyone!

Dave,
Check this out. I was just checking out a backstage video on MetallicA''s website metontour.com and James Hetfield was meeting with fans backstage and one of the fans had a picture for him to sign. The picture was from 96/97 era and Kirk Hammett was into wearing makeup and such and James looks at the picture sees Kirk and starts to laugh and goes "Dave Navarro was in our band back then" Care to comment on that.

Hey Dave,

Nice job in that "Steve Vai Debate"! Seriously, I've heard people calling you overrated, and I'm relieved by your beliefs on music (that guitarists like Vai, though often envied as virtuosos without passion, should be respected because their music obviously won't connect with every listener) and I respect you.

Posted by: Dan at October 14, 2004 03:19 PM

Sean & NYC crew... I will see you at the Lemon! I missed the NYC book signing due to moving/no computer access :( So I don't think I know any of you!

Are we going with X's on our shirts? If I can find it amongst the zillion cardboard boxes, should I wear my Spread sweatshirt?

Posted by: Theresa at October 14, 2004 03:51 PM

Hi Dave,
I bought your book 2 days ago and finished it tonight. I just want to let you know how inspiring you are and how much love I felt you putting into it.

My cousin just returned from to OK, after staying with me here in NC. She has been a hardcore addict for over 20 years and wanted to get straight. After failing in rehab she got on a bus and came out. We threw everythihng away and though it was the sickets, most painful days of her life, she left 2 weeks ago to move back home with her 2 children whom she hadn't seen in over 10 years. She is as clean as she can get and has a new job and life. Your book just lets me know that there is so much out there worth living for, and I've seen it first hand.

Good luck with everything in your future and much love and respect for you!

Overrated????

My ass he is overrated ( I know you didn't say he was )

Rolling Stone's 100 greatest guitarist of ALL TIME... and he didn't even make the list...

BUT WTF Jack White of the White Stripes is in the Top 25. Screw that.

There's my rant for the day.

Hey Dave,
It's great to hear you're recording AND having so much fun with it! That's how it supposed to be and that's when you get extra inspired and the music will be even better than it was, at least that's what i guess :-)

I know the book should be out in Europe as well, i'm from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I bet you won't be doing book signing sessions over here, but that's okay, i'll buy it anyway :-)

Have a great time recording and signing!

WhitePony-I totally agree with you on the Rolling Stone article. It's was pretty sad. I also read awhile ago, in an article in a guitar magazine (won't drop a name here) which listed the top 100 guitar solo's ever. "Three days" by Dave was ranked 100th. You have to wonder....who are these people?

Brett

Posted by: Brett at October 14, 2004 04:23 PM

heLLo,

Rank is just a number you put next to a name...
It does't matter what rank you are, coz you'll probably be #1 to the people that follow and support you. And we need to feel the music instead of the Rank#1 guitarist from RS, but if they're as well in this top, then its all good.

Posted by: Brett at October 14, 2004 04:39 PM

well... getting over there and back will take a while as I'd have to take the bus.. i've barely been home at all in the past few days and my room is kind of a mess.. I could use the extra time getting home early today to do chores so I have the weekend free to go out and roam around. I miss my bass too, i want to play my bass. Not to mention that my teeth are sore from going to the orthodontist.. i got orange bands in the spirit of halloween.

Maria

Posted by: mortisha8 at October 14, 2004 04:57 PM

The solo on Three Days ranked number 100, ha? It was always number one for me because of the feeling it has to it! All I can say to the people who made the rank is "you should be with us, feeling like we do".

But I agree with Freak. Rank is only a number next to a name, right Sergeant?

hey 67ers, whats good guys? I'll try to make it to the show in NYC on the 21st but I'm strapped on money and time :-(.....hey maybe you guys can help me and Dave even share some of that "PIMP juice". See I gotta learn how to be a p.i.m.p...well actually I've asked this girl out whose caught my eye (and vice versa) for a while but we don't know each other AT ALL so it's a blind date, only with a sneak preview you know? I'm thinking night time, we go to some casual resturant and then a movie (not to sure on the movie, wouldn't really give us the chance to talk although I'll definitely be getting to know her during dinner) if all goes well, do you think a kiss at the end of the date is too much? I mean if DAVE (sexy rock god Dave) didn't give Carmen a kiss the first night, maybe it's because it is too much....i dunno, I know it depends on the girl but she seems real into me, comn guys come through with tips for activities! lol usually I don't care about that aspect or even sustaining a relationship but somehow this one woman has gotten me interested and hopeful that something fulfilling can come out of a relationship between us and I wouldn't want this one to get away either. well bon voyage!

"The picture was from 96/97 era and Kirk Hammett was into wearing makeup and such and James looks at the picture sees Kirk and starts to laugh and goes "Dave Navarro was in our band back then."
That's cute. Of all people, they thought of Dave Navarro. Hey, they could have picked someone else. I think in a way, that's a compliment to Dave.

Emma, to use the chatroom, go to http://members.tripod.com/~tno13/panicroom.html and type the nickname you'd like to use in the green box. Click connect and you'll be in the room in a few seconds. The box at the top right of the chatscreen lists who is in the room. If there are no names besides yours, then no one else is in the room. Chances are, if you haven't posted that you're in the room, and a chat isn't scheduled, then the room will probably be empty. I'm sure you were doing it right before.

I'm going to the room for a little while. If anyone wants to chat, come on by!

Spreading the love,
Deena

Hector~Most of all pay attention to the girl during dinner, and listen to her. Stop worrying about whether to kiss her or not. Be genuinely interested in her.

Hey everyone,

Dave managed to make it into one of the 25 Gayest moments in Rock & Roll history according to BLENDER Magazine. The following article is taken from page 96 of the November issue of BLENDER.

#16- ONE HOT MINUTE: THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS' VIDEO SONG
Looking like sketchy Santa Monica Blvd. hustlers with B.O., the Chili Peppers have always exuded a circle-jerk sexuality. But in 1995, they introduced telegenic eyebrow-plucking Dave Navarro with the video for "Warped." After wielding his mic like a threatening penis, Anthony Kiedis makes out with the pouty newbie, who wears a dress, while Flea bounces around like an excited bisexual monkey. In just a few seconds, the band went further than any group of thrust rockers has gone before.

There is also a picture of Dave with a fan, Hannah Cho, on page 28.

Just in case you were wondering the #1 Gayest Moment in Rock history was when the Village People released the song "YMCA".

Later,
Mike from NYC

Rolling Stone must have a vested interest in Jack Black, and his movie.
I mean really. The dude is funny, but that Rolling Stone put him in the list at all is funnier.
Any publication, you got to check out who publishes it, and who owns that publishing company for a start.
Damn, I sound cynical! :D But aren't most mags just big ads?

Posted by: ylais at October 14, 2004 07:41 PM

And to think, when The Village People released YMCA, I was so young and innocent, I had no clue they were gay, or what that reference was. Oo

Posted by: ylais at October 14, 2004 07:44 PM

dave,
the book is inspirational and im sure it took alot of courage to confront all of that and put it out there to help others. im almost done with it, but already i want to thank you.

Posted by: heather at October 14, 2004 07:45 PM

And to think I never viewed the Warped moment as gay either....it's how you look at it I think. :D I mean, I'm not a gay guy, so my perception is different.
Oh god I hope that comes across the right way that I meant it!

Posted by: ylais at October 14, 2004 07:47 PM

Has anyone ever seen a bisexual monkey bouncing around?

Posted by: ylais at October 14, 2004 07:48 PM

oops..lmao..did you say Jack White? :D

Posted by: ylais at October 14, 2004 07:50 PM

first of all..rolling stone has disappointed me a lot in the past...especially with the greatest guitarists list...the fact that jack white made the list AT ALL is an affront to all those in the music industry...dave didn't make the list, and slash didn't make the list...both extremely accomplished guitarists. and frank zappa at like 45 or something?! wtf is that about...that man should've been top 10...i can't even talk about it anymore...so disappointing and so glaringly wrong.

and i thought the Warped video kiss was HOT...i and it still is...dave looked so freakin' awesome in that video and he saved the chili's asses by joining their band...and all he did was get mocked the whole time he was there (not by the band but by the media)...shows how good you are when you do a favor. oh well...i loved everything dave has ever done in the chili peppers and out.

that's my peace for the night lol...love to you all

-Emily

Hey everyone,

I just watched the "Warped" video again. FLEA looks more like a bisexual caveman if you ask me. Anthony almost hits Dave & Flea a couple of times with the mic stand.
I like Dave's hair in the video. He should grow it back. He also had a lot less ink on him.

Dave, there's nothing to apologize for.

The fact that you post at all, as frequently as you do ... the fact that you take the time to read our comments/questions/etc ... it speaks to your character.

As for Rolling Stone, did anyone ever see "Perfect"? The John Travolta/Jamie Lee Curtis movie, where he's a RS writer? There's a scene where he actually takes a baseball bat to the editor's office.

After the 100 Best *rolls eyes* guitarists article, I entertained thoughts of doing just that. While I certainly respect a person's right and freedom to be a fan of Jack White ... they ranked him higher than Jimmy f!@king Page? Dave's not even ON the list?

I think some people had their crack pipes up a little too high when they made up THAT list.

As for me, it's been a suckful Thursday; so, if anyone would like to run through wearing nothing more than a Bozo the clown nose, some flippers, and a smile ... it'd be gratefully appreciated.

*holds two thumbs up, cheesy grins* Thanks in advance!

Much love,
~~ Lori (I prefer the term "sanity-challenged" thankyouverymuch)

Thank You again!!!!! You helped make an extreamly special memory I will never forget and it never would have happened with out you!!

Posted by: Rain at October 14, 2004 09:32 PM

They considered the Warped video a gayest moment? Oh my god there are so many other "gayer" moments out there than that!

Flea does not look like a bisexual caveman!

"In The Light" LedZep of course...

And if you feel that you can't go on. And your will's sinkin' low
Just believe and you can't go wrong.
In the light you will find the road. You will find the road

Oh, did you ever believe that I could leave you, standing out in the cold
I know how it feels 'cause I have slipped through to the very depths of my soul.
I just wanna show what I'd give you it is from every bend in the road
Now listen to me
Oh, whoa-whoa, as I was and really would be for you, too, honey
As you would for me, oh, I would share your load.
Let me share your load. Ooh, let me share, share your load

And if you feel that you can't go on
In the light you will find the road

Though the winds of change may blow around you, but that will always be so
When love is pain it can devour you, if you are never alone
I would share your load. I would share your load
Baby, let me, oh, let me

In the light
Everybody needs the light.
In the light, in the light, in the light

Light, light, light, in the light
Light, light, light, in the light, ooh, yeah
Light, light, light, in the light

Hi Dave,

I've been MIA for a few days. Thanks so much for using my design for todays page. That's another photo I had in my huge photo archive which had 'Panic Channel' written all over it~~!!

Very good interview tonight on Carson. The main problem with most of these talk shows is the fact that they never seem to spend enough time with the guests, they should all cut their monologues much shorter! lol

take care,
itanja

Hi wendybird,

GREAT shots! Mine are still in my camera, they're film, not digital. :(
Did you take the shots of Dave with the same new camera you used at the Panic Channel show??

Are you going to the NYC CF gig? Try to make it~!!

Hi jezebel,

Saw your photo....I pictured you as a wild redhead in a leather miniskirt OR a pale, black haired 'Goth chick' OR looking like 'Jezebel' from the Bette Davis movie....batting your big 'BetteDavis Eyes' at all the purty boys!!

take care,
itanja

Hey All,

Great pix Wendybird!

Emily you say that Zappa was 45 on the list WTF (!?)Should have been in the top 5 at least.
So who was #1? Where was Hendrix?
Who makes these lists? I wonder if they bother to ask anyone elses opinion? (probably not)

Emma did you manage to get a copy of the book ordered?

Dave, no need to apologise we understand how busy you are dude :)

The weekend has arrived!!!!
Have a good one everyone,

Maria~Exactly, you said it, Flea does not look like a bisexual caveman, or a bisexual monkey bouncing around...or anything like that...Flea looks cute and he's bouncy like Tigger! :D Anyway, Flea being so energetic is attractive, and so is the way he moves.
Anthony's hair~I loved loved loved it long.

We could all rewrite those two lists:
The top guitarists. (Can you think of 100?) And what about those Bass players. They get left out. Rhythm guitarists? Joan Jett...o.o

Very gay moment~Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Relax Video. The original one.

Off to put my bozo the clown nose, and flippers on.

Love you all,
Lisa
