Hey there Dave.
Just got done flipping channels on my T.V. and came across You and Carmen on "The Big Idea" with Danny Dutsch on CNBC.
After watching that interview, it gave me yet another reason of why I will always stick up for you...
Your honesty makes you even more accessable to people... Not just the notes that you play...
Now a question.... They had several different snippets of music playing throughout the segment...
I swear I heard a different version of "Empty Girl..."!!!
What gives???
And ever thought about covering " Cat Scratch Fever" by Ted Nugent... I bet that would get the ladies wet...
Peace to you and yours...

Loving the book Dave!
Half way through it. Went to 5 different book stores and only Barnes & Noble had 2 copies. Loved the little add ins especially in the peppers section.
It was well worth the wait.........
Great work man!

Posted by: Cori at October 6, 2004 06:09 PM
Hey Cynthia,
Thanks for reading it. Tho, I don't think my post was the looongest ever posted here, there are some other top title holders! lol
Just posting MY thoughts, as we ALL should be ALLOWED to!

Who are Riss and Neil?
Posted by: Redd at October 6, 2004 06:32 PM
hello everyone,
i just find it interesting that people think that 100 posts is a lot. i understand that this site used to be more personal, but it's gotten more popular and that's the nature of these things. i was visiting Zach Braff's blog and for every one of his posts, there are about 1000 comments!!!! usually more. so, feel lucky that this hasn't really blown up yet. i do! =)

The book is amazing, and I'm up to page 142... The March of The Baby Unicorns... I just had to post. The family here is really reminiscent of that online community from 7 years ago, which still exists. I just got off the phone with one of the old school unis and a bunch of us are meeting up there at the signing tomorrow. It was really cool to see mention of the photobooth site in the book.
For those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about, here's the link: http://www.grumpyfish.com/babybooth/main.htm
On another note, I did a trial run to Bookends yesterday, to learn the route there, buy the book, and get the ticket for the signing way early. For those of you going, trust directions from mapquest, not from the store. I called the store for directions. I had somewhat of an idea of that area of Jersey, and what they said didn't make sense. They told me that coming northbound on the parkway, to get off at exit 165. Ridgewood is 163. So I looked on mapquest and sure enough, 163. I followed those directions and got there without blinking an eye. I have no idea if I would have actually got there if I followed theirs, but I followed the directions on mapquest and it was cake.
Also, bring quarters if you're heading there earlier. All the parking is metered, and there's a lot for the shopping area across the street.
Can't wait to see you guys there. I'll be looking for "X"s in tape, and 67s on hands, yada, yada, yada...!
Spreading the love,
Deena

Hey Dave!
I just wanted to let you know that you have an awesome site! I found out about it today on Fuse's Daily Download that you appeared in. You talked about your new book and you also recommended that 18-year-olds and up should read the book. I'm an avid reader and have read many, I guess you can considered them adult books, mature audience books and I was wondering if you would recommend it to a 16 year old.
Thanks and good luck with your new band and book!
Posted by: Allison at October 6, 2004 07:32 PM
Cori, I'm stuck having to wait for the book too. Kinda sucks, I've been looking forward to it but this weeks kinda taking a turn for the worst for me. So I may have to wait for a couple of weeks or more. On a lighter note... Dave you rocked Fuse today. anyone know when carson is going to show? can't wait for conan, and now I'm going to try and catch CNBC.

Hey Itanja, Sorry I misspelled your name last time.
So good to see you on the board. I am doing fine. My family is doing great. My husband has to drive 200 miles a day commuting to work. He is working for a large design firm so we don't see much of each other. My son is now 5 and my daughter just turned 1yr. I miss all of you guys. REXY too. I am so lost with all that has been going on with Dave. I have been reading my ass off trying to keep up. Check out my link .
Lots of love,

The 6767 folks on this site are first rate. I took Margaret up on her offer to pick me up one of your books since I can't attend any of your signings. How cool is that?! Thanks again Margaret, and looking forward to reading your book Dave. L8er, Al

What's up Dave and fam? I haven't posted in a long while, but it looks like there have been more people that have found out about the site... very cool!
-I got the book today... and just like everyone is raving about, I think it's truely amazing and inspiring. Thanks alot Dave! I wish you would make a stop in Indiana, but chances are you won't... but I don't blame you lol. (I can't wait to see you on Conan O'Brien.)
-ok a quick question for everybody... my band is playing after our homecoming football game at my school on Friday and we're going to do 1 Jane's cover song, but we're debating on which one to do between- Been Caught Stealin, Just Because, and Price I Pay... whadaya guys think? (I'll try to have someone video it and then post it on here sometime)
Later 6767ers!

. Thought I would start a new post just to keep track a little easier. DN
Dave, I feel very small next to you, the magnanimous one....
I am telling you, Dave, let's keep this site a little more organized, and give Jezebel her own control-alt-delete button, cause LORD knows, she needs one....frigging hothead
Anthony, I am so sorry I took your post so personally, I just have been victimized by blanket statements SO many times. You know, I teach at this elementary school infested with passive aggressiveness. There will be these announcements in the bulletin about SOMEONE who is doing this, and SOMEONE is doing that, jesus, after a while, when the paranoia became too much for me to bear, I started writing on the whiteboard in the lounge "JEZZI DIDIT, so now the other teachers call me MISS DIDIT, lol.
I totally feel bad for going off half-cocked ( cause you know I prefer the full one)
But hey, it seems like it did give people a chance to voice their own bottled up opinions.
Think of me as the gnat at your bbq
Sorry, Dave
Hey, when you meet me on Tuesday, give me a stern talking to....
I just watched the Big Idea...Can I now confess my strange but serious attraction to Carmen!!!!
remember, I told some of you Jezzi was my Tyler Durden, time to shoot myself in the face!!
jezebel( you know she wasn't bad, just drawn that way)

Shane -
My overwhelming desire to have Dave's book the second it came out led me to pre-order two books over the past several months...from two different places.
I received one yesterday, have already read it, and today I received an email that another one I apparently ordered has been shipped from somewhere else.
I would be happy to send you the brand new one, as soon as I receive it, as a gift.
If you are interested, email me your addy!
Good Night Family...hope the party was fun Dave!

one of the things i love most about this site is the ability for everyone to share their opinion without much debate or argument from others. but the thing i love most is the loving community we have formed. i don't think the community is THAT large...while it has grown...just remember that b/c there are 100 posts...doesn't mean that there are 100 separate people posting. i myself post around 3-5 times for one entry...as do other people. it's still a close community because we've formed connections with people...i got to meet some great people on monday night (esp. dave...still on cloud nine by the way...it made my life! sorry i was a dork...i actually said "you have no idea how much this means to me" although it was the truth lol) like itanja, denise, ellen, mike from NYC, hector, and heather...and i talk to people like whitepony (who really is a nice nice guy and an awesome person) and jezzi via e-mail or im...and i'm so proud and lucky to be part of this community...and in all honesty...i think that's what matters to dave is that we're all supportive of each other, and what he himself does. we're not here to judge each other, and we're not here to criticize. we're here to show our love and appreciation for an artist, who in some way, has touched each and every one of us, and to offer a shoulder to a fellow poster should they need it; because we know...that when we've had such a not good day...we can turn to here and at least someone will give us a hug. and for that...we should be proud we get to call each other family and friends. we should be proud that dave puts so much love and trust into this website and has provided this forum for friendships and bonds to be formed, and to also have contact with dave himself. i just wanted to say how happy and how lucky i feel to have joined this community and since joining it...as sappy and trite as this may sound...my life has been that much more happier. i feel like i've really connected with people here...and that is truly amazing and great. thanks for listening to/reading my rant. i hope it doesn't upset any people :-)
-much love TO ALL!
-Emily (aka blondimofo) lol...just thought i would add that

And, emily, I have seen your pic, and you ARE a babe!!
Happy 2 days before your birthday to you
Cori, you are the voice of reason. thanks for not giving up on me....

Hey Emily,
You said it better than my long rant! ;)
I do feel that many here are afraid to step on toes when they REALLY want to vent about something, some things simply have to be addressed....of course, it doesn't mean we all have to agree...we should just be allowed to voice what's on our minds, while still RESPECTING others opinions.
This is suppossed to be an OPEN forum...for DAVE & US.
On another UP note....through being a Dave fan, I've made many close friends from posting at Dave's old boards. Wonderful, smart, funny & interesting people. I know Denise & Lauren (Natural One, who has been MIA recently) for over 5 years!
I talk to, email & sometimes actually get to see them. Some are off in Europe so we can't always 'see' each other. Hi Pebbles, Valerio & Gina, I KNOW you guys are lurking~~!
I've also met some NEW wonderful, smart, funny & interesting people from THIS weblog! I had a great time meeting you guys at the book signing.
The LOVE & RESPECT for Dave & his music brought us ALL together.
Thanks for your input Emily, your writing is always interesting & fun....and sincere!
See you SOON~~!

Hi everyone,
First, Emily, I totally agree!
Second, thanks to everyone who expressed their concern about my job situation. This morning, it happened. I was layed off from my job. Although I see it as being emancipated from 6 years of oppression from a job that was emotionally and mentally draining, and financially and creatively unsatisfying. (I was only staying there because I had to, because they paid for me to get my MBA. I owed them almost one more year... but now I'm free!)
It's a scary time, but very, very exciting. I'm looking forward to having some free time to "detox" from Corporate America. To write, read, dance, exercise, hang out, chill, and fix up my house. And figure out my next big move. I have a lot of interesting ideas and am looking forward to making at least some of them a reality...
One of the first things I did when I came home today was to read Dave's book. I'd seen some of it on his old 6767 site, and in Spin magazine, but it was so great to read it in its entirety. Great stuff there. Dave and Neil, you are both fantastic writers! In a word, WOW. I like how the styles and points of view "jump around" from section to section, keeping the reader on his/her toes. Very cool. Once again, I'm ultra-inspired by Dave's work and overall being...
So all in all, this has been quite an interesting, eventful week for me. First I meet Dave (a religious experience), then my new life begins as my job ends. As corny as it sounds, meeting Dave gave me the feeling that dreams can come true... so I have a good feeling about all this other stuff.
And if anyone knows of anyone who needs a creative, hard-working person with strong writing and editing skills, you know where to find me!
:)
Love,
-Denise
PS. As Itanja said earlier, RIP Rodney Dangerfield. You rocked!

I really dislike conflict, and I haven't enjoyed reading all this just because of that.
At the same time, I think we need to feel safe on this weblog, and at times I haven't for one reason or another. Mostly I have and I love this place, and I like chatting back and forth with people on here, and seeing the same people. I like new people as well, of course. I like meeting new people that come here in good faith.
There are a couple of things, I don't like as much, which I may as well say now, since it seems that people are stating their opinions. I did write back to Whitepony on his comments about it. I know full well some people were on the old 6767, and know each other better because of that, or know each other because they all live in the LA area or whatever.
Lots of times, that makes me feel left out.
Another thing that has struck me lately is quite a few posts that are people stopping by to PR themselves, and that's it. I wrote about that on Whitepony's site in his comments if you're interested.

denise...i'm so sorry about your job...but it seems like it's a step in the right direction and you seem to be looking forward to that direction. i hope you get everything you want and more and that, ultimately, you become happy.
and thanks everyone for being so supportive of my rant lol...if it can even be called that. i just wanted to express how deeply meaningful this site is and how amazing the people here truly are. we've even managed to basically weed out the haters lol. the power of positive thinking. thank you all for your support...i really need to learn to sleep lol...it's almost 1 am here...and i'm WIDE awake lol...good luck to all esp denise, freak, and jezzi!
-much love to all

Another thing which I think would help with longer posts is for people to seperate the posts. Myself, I have a tough time keeping up with what's going on when the posts are long, and there are several ideas, opinions in one post.
I know people replied to what I posted on here earlier, but I've lost track of that now, with so much in between. It did get a little confusing there.
I mean if you want to make a point, then won't it be heard more if you post it in a short post that people will read, rather than a long one which people will skip over, not all will skip I know, but a few have said they can't read the long posts.
Also, with shorter posts, it is easier to communicate back and forth with each other on here.
Love
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
Perhaps people CAN'T make their points with a simple, short post? I know I can't. lol Especially when MANY points have to be addressed & made.
BTW, what do you mean by "separate the posts"? Do you mean to actually have categories?
I certainly can't speak for ALL, but I tend to be verbose, that's just me. I certainly don't mind long & interesting posts when people actually have something to say, NOT the wacky ramblings of 'emi' for instance! Amusing a few times but after that....well....
As I posted before, if people aren't interested in everything posted here, they do have the option of 'driving on through'! :)
After all, it would be impossible for us to follow all the posts.
take care,
itanja

Sorry about the double post. Time to go watch Conan!
Posted by: itanja at October 6, 2004 10:21 PM
Itanja~ I am certain you could at least give it a try.
I am also sure, that you are quite capable of putting different ideas into different posts, since you are obviously an intelligent person.
How did I guess, you would answer me back, and be defensive?
Itanja, you said earlier you were straight on here, and vented what you want on here; so why did you take it upon yourself a couple of weeks ago to email me and tell me off basically, because you assumed I was making fun of you and your long turtle post?
Which I was not, but you still seem to have a hang up on that post, and you also know full well that your posts are too long, and you also said to me that you skip other people's posts.
So how can you expect people to read yours?
I am really having a problem with you in particular right now. That's the truth.

Let me get this straight then Itanja. What you are saying is that you have the right to post as often as you like and as much as you like, and in long posts, but other people are not?

whew....that was a hell of alot of reading....as a newbie I have to say you have all confused me to no end. Can't we all just get along? lol...
The only thing that kinda made me upset is the fact that just because I am new here and don't post often, doesn't mean I haven't been a fan for a long time. It also doesn't mean that all newbies are coming in to post things like oh dave your hot. I read every post (well except the joke cuz I already got in an email). I like getting to know all of you, and that is the way to do it.
hope tomorrow is a more pleasant day here....

Itanja, I did not appreciate your email at all, particularly the tone of it.
I didn't ask for the other email from you, and I don't want this one either.
If your emails were in a different tone, then that would be fine.
I thought we were allowed to voice our opinions and rant on here, according to you?
Posted by: ylais at October 6, 2004 11:53 PM
Itanja. I can make my own choices, thank you, even if they are sometimes stupid choices. They are mine to make. I would lik eit if you stopped trying to dictate to me what to do on here.
Posted by: ylais at October 6, 2004 11:56 PM
Hmmm,
OK here's my two cents.
I try to read every post,if i catch something in the middle i'll trace it back to the beginning,i love reading about what everyone is doing and the friendships here that are being forged is truly a beautiful thing.
I don't have a problem with large posts, but when it's in one gigantic paragraph it does make the old eyes go a bit funny, but i'll work through it.
I paragraph my posts,i hope that works for everyone.
Newbies(don't really like that term):more the merrier.
The only thing that upsets me is dis-respect.
I respect everyones opinion, good and bad(so long as its not rude and hurtful, someones day can be easily ruined by a throw away comment)
I'm also well aware that things can be read out of context and i bare that in mind.I try to remember to read thru my posts before i put it on the blog, although i do forget sometimes.
Pony,i understand where your coming from with your concerns for the blog,if a forum does appear then i personally hope it will be an official 6767 one,
I do treat this place as home and i love it,its evolving and growing and its wonderful to see.
To everyone, let's not fall out,it's my birthday today(the 7th)and i'll be having none of that today thank you.lol
Love to you all

We are a family and like all familys we have some problems. No one here is right or wrong but we all have an opinion to share. I personal would rather read posts we had just a few days ago shairing all the love and effectin with eachother. This is just rediculous. Everyone is acting like a spoiled child. Granted in some ways we are. We have been given this site as a forum to share a common interest NOT a place to fight. I left the JA site when all the fighting over the break up began and I would hate to leave this one too. This will make the 2nd person lost from this site due to bad vibes (Bonny). We all need to grow up and get over this. If and when ther is a problem with too many posts or posts beeing too long or personal I'm sure Dave will address it A.S.A.P., but until then can we please drop it?
Sorry if this is too long for some, but it had to be said. If you would like to argue this comment you have my E-mail address and my MSN.

Chill Lisa,
That was an email of apology for the other misunderstanding, HONEY you need to really CHILL. You just wrote me stating that you were going to POST my PRIVATE emails here???? BIZARRE & weird action to an email, say the least!
"Itanja. I can make my own choices, thank you, even if they are sometimes stupid choices. They are mine to make. I would lik eit if you stopped trying to dictate to me what to do on here."
WHAT CHOICES, I really have NO IDEA what you are going OFF about??
You didn't get or READ my second email over the other MISUNDERSTANDING & you CONTINUE to ATTACK me here. Being defensive over a very silly misunderstanding?
I don't enjoy being baited into petty arguments, but if you are going to rag on me over nothing, I want to know WHY. I AM still wondering what you are going on about. ?????

You didn't get or READ my second email over the other MISUNDERSTANDING & you CONTINUE to ATTACK me here. Being defensive over a very silly misunderstanding?
I don't enjoy being baited into petty arguments, but if you are going to rag on me over nothing, I want to know WHY. I AM still wondering what you are going on about. ?????

heLLo!
Couldn't connect to the internet for a day, and look what I missed!! 130+posts!
This is a great community here we have. Sure I understand you don't want it to be destroyed, or even changed from what it was before.
But hey! We're in October already, 5 months since 6767 is back on! and I think the community is doing very well!. I don't really see why it would change, but evolution is everywhere, that's the way it is.
This community is like an artist, we can't be on top everyday, but at least there is always something goin on with you guys, so we can't be bored at all.
6767 is now a BIG family.
About the RADIO, at the minute, it's on when I'm on, so if you see me on Msn, FreAk*Radio is on with CFr Archives, etc..
Enjoy,
FreAk*

With all this kind of talk new posters may well think that this place is a little clicky and exclusive and change they're mind about wanting to joining the community,
Just an after thought

Steve L~ I already think this place is clicky. I wrote above that I felt left out.
I have certainly been nice and friendly to people on here, and I care a lot about people.
However, I made a suggestion about a couple of ways that may help with the posting and community vibe on here, and I am promptly told where to go basically.
A lot of people are already posting on other blogs to each other, so something is going on here. And that is why I made suggestions that I considered before posting, about how to get more of a community vibe back.
That's all I am going to say.
Other than have a great bday Steve L! :D

Have a great time tonight! :)

Seems 'certain people' here only want 'certain people' to comment, that's what I am reading into ALL this. Clicky huh? Dave is here for ALL.
He makes himself available to ALL.
I simply posted an OPINION on yesterdays log & Lisa suddenly came here to attack me, then she went off about something else which was going on OFF this weblog. Bringing it here was wrong.
Voicing an opinion & 'ranting' is one thing, but to verbally attack someone, then obviously TWIST their words (which ARE here in B&W) & then bring up PERSONAL emails here, is totally WRONG.
NOWHERE in my long post on the other page, did I FOCUS on any one persons POSTS. I simply addressed WhitePony's suggestion to change this format. If my tone seemed harsh, which WAS NOT my implication at all, I apologize to HIM.
I NEVER posted that OTHER posts were too long & mine weren't. That is totally absurd. lol
WHOOA, to quote the great Bob Dylan, this is "Too Much of Nothing"~~!!
PEACE,
itanja

I don't know about the rest of the world, but the weather here today was beautiful. Sunny, leaves turning, and the wind blowing. I bet it's just as badass looking in New York this time of year. Hope you're enjoying the purdy leaves of New York Dave.

Phew Fam,
Calm down, calm down (she says with a liverpool accent lol)
Enough already guys and girls, can't you all just agree to disagree and leave it at that, lifes too short!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE L X
Trent O, I think you should play Price I Pay, killer bass line!!
Dave any chances of a book signing in Europe somewhere PLEASE:-)
I'm off to see the Dead Kennedys tommorrow night I can't wait! Dave were/are you a DK fan at all?
A friend sent me this motto yesterday,
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body
thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO - What a
Ride!"
Spread Love peeps,

Happy Birthday!
I missed Dave and Carmen last night - I was ticked. The hubby was channel surfing and stopped at the end of the interview :-(
But there is Conan!
Today, Dave is to sign a book for me - which I will receive next week - and I am totally psyched at the thought!
Peace to all

Hi all! :)
How is everyone doing today?
Angel~I feel ya, I'll hopefully be getting a signed sopy soon too *knock on wood...or something :p*
Anyway, I had a dream about this site last night. How strange is that? In the dream, Dave posted a link to a new song he'd made, and it was truly the most beautiful song I've ver heard. I remember posting (in the dream) that I was listening to it over and over again. And I was. Too bad I can't fucking remember the song now, I always dream up these songs and then I can't fucking remember them. Bah! :) Anyway, I'm going to jam on my guitar today and we'll see where it takes me :)
Have a good one, everyone!

Emma~ Thanks for the good wishes, although I don't have much hope of remembering my song again. See, I've dreamt up a song once before and I completely failed to remember that one too. Oh well, maybe the song sucked and the dream was what made it nice :)

All,
This was my simple point.
"6767 is becoming very cluttered and difficult to read through."
I did not say this to make enemies or to hurt anyone. I apologize if you feel I was not directing this at any people specificly.
And my statement is without a doubt undeniable.
Thats all i got. I'll be sitting in the corner with my dunce hat on the rest of the day for being a troublemaker.
Huge hugs to Colleen, Abby, Emily, Steve L, and all the people who sent me words letting me know I wasn't out of line.
Much love and may 6767 live long and prosper.

Anyone here remember one of, if not the first Spread board on "imusic"!?!? That was when Dave first started really posting replies to the content on the board... that's old school... and then Deana's chat...i know he showed up occassionally in there...but this is the best system DN has had yet...other than a few quirks that need to be worked out...like a chat room or sectioning the board topically, so it's easier to navigate the post's and replies...but i know that'll all come in time... so who used to be a Baby Uni, and what was your handle??? I was The Fashion Whore Unicorn...oh to be young hhaha...that was like 5 years ago lol anyone else??? BTW, as a guy, the testosterone in me much prefers being an Agent than a Unicorn ;-) lol

itanja,
Lets let bygones be bygones. It is good to see things from both sides of the fence. Your apology is accepted and please accept mine. I do not want this to be a clicky group of people. I just simply want to make this site better for everyone. And people can't argue that organization is usually a good thing.
Ok I am off to get work done. Bruce is coming in tonight instead of tomarrow... man that dude drives fast.
PEACE LOVE and Dave Navarro!
My sincerest apologies and hugs to everyone
