A Quick 10

Purpleblur1. How do you like to celebrate Halloween, and what are you going to be this year?

We are going to see Courtney play at the Wiltern on the 30th, don't know what's on for the 31st.

2. Dave is TPC still on for November 16th or 17th???

Yes, I am not certain as to which though.

3. Dave, do you see PC ever doing any JA songs live?

No, not really.

4. You mentioned "In the Light" as one of your fave Zeppelin tracks. Is it me, or does the song One Hot Minute have a similar bass groove and droning guitar in the verses?

Well, it is for sure, not you. Flea and I were thinking the same thing when we wrote that song.

5. Do you know if we have to get tickets at the door or is it a first come first serv type of thing? (Dec 2nd, Key Club)

I'll find out next Saturday when we do CFR. The show is an Indie 103.1 sponsored event.

6. Isaacs has been mentioning this "Project P" on his site alot... has he let you in on any of that yet or is that just something for him?

We are in. I must say, it is incredible!

7. Do you actually warm-up on guitar before going on stage or in the studio?

It depends, sometimes yes, sometimes no. More often than not, yes. We just run through songs as a band.

8. Dave your going to outer space?

If it is at all possible, you are damn right!

9. How in the world did you come up with the idea of using a vibrator?

I don't recall, but I think it was inspired by the Ebow. I remember in the late 80's I did it for the first time in New Orleans. We were touring with Love and Rockets.

10. I forgot to ask about the part in your book where you mention someone asking you if you have ever shot heroine into your dick. I dont remember there being a definitive answer on your side but I guessed you may have.

I never did. As out of my mind as I was, I was never THAT out of my mind.

Good morning all! Another lovley day at work for me.(being a smarta**)

Lucky you DN that you are gonna see Courtney this weekend. She is up her in Northern Ca. In San Fran to be exact. I wish I was gonna be there.

Hey question to all and Dave, I would like to kow what you think. I am 28 and I am FINALLY gonna get braces in about 3 weeks. (On Friday, I have to have some teeth taken out) Can I still give a B.J. with braces? I mean, will it be hard for me since I will have metal in my mouth?

I am serious, I am concerned about it. Thank y'all for your 2 cents about it. Take care.

Love, CC

Good Morning Dave and Family!

It's a beautiful black cloudy rainy day....the song for the day is: NIN - hurt

Happy Tuesday!

Hi! I have really been enjoying this board. Very interesting. Dave, are you familiar with something called "musician's cramp"? I've also heard the term "guitar hand", and technically it is called focal dystonia. It is said to affect about ~7-10% of professional musicians. Anyway, I am looking into doing dissertation research in this area (specifically treatment of it), and wonder if the incidence is as high as I've heard. Any idea, Dave? I guess this isn't something musicians would go around talking about, however, as it can be potentially career ending. Where would I go to find prof. musicians who have this? Anyone out there have any ideas? They would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Goodmorning to you, sir!

Love the Q & A.

I am reading your book and it is rough - but I have a relative who just told me they are recovering from substance abuse. When I finish, they want to borrow. I don't know how I can loan it, but don't know how I can't!

My boy, inspite of some medical problems lately, won his age group for a halloween contest at a mall. Over 500 kids in the contest, but my NEMO won out over all of them. He was the crowds favorite.

He's an only child. He's 8. He's spoiled. Any problems with that?

Always,
me

Regarding my previous post- I am interested in working with ANY type of prof. musician with this diagnosis. I have done some preliminary research work with brass and woodwind instrumentalists, but I would like to study a larger population.

Thanks, and I hope that you all have a great day. Regarding the first post, I don't see how braces could have much of an effect, but I've never been on the receiving end. Hmmm... better let a guy answer that one for you.

Hey, CC!

My mother in law got braces at 55. She wore them for 3 years. There is a reason you need them. Better to have teeth than not. Don't worry about it.

Posted by: Angel at October 26, 2004 08:55 AM

Crecincia - you you do it right without braces, it shouldn't matter with braces because you're not supposed to use your teeth anyway...

Hey D,

Any plans on coming to do book signings in Canada around Toronto, Vancouver, or there-abouts? I'm dying to get my book signed, but I haven't been able to make it to any of the previous signings.

If not, would it be possible to FedEx the book to you, and pay to have it sent back? I would be eternally thankful.

I would've flown out to one of them in a heartbeat if I could dig up the change. $770 is a lot of change to find when you're putting yourself through college, though.

All the talk about Dave and outer space...don't forget the Total Lunar Eclipse tomorrow night! From Space.com-

The last chance to see a total lunar eclipse for more than two years comes Wednesday evening for most residents of North America and Western Europe.

Angel,

I believe what she is concerned about is the braces ripping up the sides of her mouth and her lips while they're curled over her teeth.

My friend had braces, and she found a way around it. Your orthodentist should give you strips of wax, to put over the braces farther back in your mouth to stop the metal from ripping up the sides of your mouth.

Just put some over the braces on your front teeth aswell, and you should be a-ok!

- A.

Posted by: Amber Lynn at October 26, 2004 09:19 AM

braces hurt though...like the first few days you have them, you feel like your teeth are going to fall out...and every subsequent month you feel like that for two days when you get them tightened...but it's all good.

wish i could see courtney at the wiltern...i think she's great.

and glad to hear you weren't THAT messed up dave lol
much love to everyone

Just realised that most of you won't even know who John Peel was...

He was a UK DJ who throughout his 45 year career dedicated himself to promoting original, interesting and groundbreaking music.

He was how everyone imagines their coolest uncle...
A tragic loss at 65 (young these days eh?)

RIP John

Hey everyone!

QUESTION FOR DAVE: If your allowed to take your guitar with you on the Virgin Galactic ride to outerspace in a few years, what song will you play in outerspace?

I've gotten a lot of 6767 photos from Irving Plaza, so I'll be putting up a site sometime next week. I guess the "theme" of it will be 6767 people who've had the excellent experience of meeting Dave. Originally it was just gonna be a page of photos during and after the CF gig at Irving Plaza last week (which will still be there)....but it seems more appropriate to have photos of ALL 6767'ers with Dave (not just the NYC ones).

Soooooo....ANY 6767'er who has a photo of yourself and Dave, e-mail me!

Have a good day everybody!

Dave,

I was watching the labowski the other day after reading your book and was saying to myself that you def would have liked it so it was cool to have seen you rate it a 9/10. I know you might not have anytime whatsoever for movies but I saw ' I Heart Huchabees ' last night and thought you might enjoy this one as much as I did. Try to wrap your brain around it. Its got a real popular cast but they do well together. Its creepy but I look at you as somewhat as a mentor b.c I believe in the way you approach lifes situations and the way you communicate. Cool demeanor as well. Anyway, I am going to a Halloween party as you with all the tattoos (body paint) and such done to scale. It will be interesting to see how its turns out. Although, hopefully by the end of the night my blow up doll can be puntured and replaced by someone as beautiful as youre wife ;) Ill send pics.

Dave, a question about TNO vs Spread: they're quite similiar, but TNO has much better production and your vocals sound much better. Did you take singing lessons or just sing better? I see Rich Costey produced TNO, who produced Spread? Any comments on the differences between both projects? Also if you recall on TNO - what was your guitar setup like for recording - direct or mic'd, any other little things I should know about that? Thanks man, stay well!

dave, i've just finished your book, and my emotions were all over the place..i just couldn't put the book down. last night i read the first halve (i realised at one point i had to get up at 7, after that i read for another hour) and today at school i couldn't really think about anything else..and now i've finished it!
i still haven't landed on earth, floating somewhere..a stiff back from sitting in one position too long

i have a question (which happens not very often..) but there was an interview on tv and a musician (can't remember who) said he didn't like to come to amsterdam because it reminded him too much of all the parties and the time he was on drugs. i've heard other people say that before. do you feel the same?

okay, i believe it's halloween overthere, so everyone enjoy!
love, emma
(i can't really remember anything accept disneysongs, moviequotes and faces..great combination)

Hi everyone.

Really sad about John Peel.He was a big reason why some bands made it big or at least got some attention cause his opinion was so respected by the music press.
I remember seeing a documentary he did about Captain Beefheart a few years ago,he was a big fan of him.
A real sad loss.RIP

Jezzi-i hope your son will be ok,i'm thinkin' of ya.

Who said your not supposed to use your teeth during BJ's,i've met girls that do,a little nip on the old love totum is ok.(unless they have a crazy look in the eye, don't want to be rushed to the hospital with a John Wayne Bobbit)lol

Hey Dave:

Thanks for keeping contact with your fans as much as you can its really a cool thing to do and I appreciate it a whole lot.

Anywho, I was listening to G n'R's Night Train on Appetite the other day reminiscing about when I was age 12 and was wondering if you could lend me you ear.

At the end of the track Slash is killing again when they begin to fade out. It is apparent that he kept on going but they ended it before he finished. It has always been, in my mind, one of his best performances if you will and they faded it out! Maybe thats why I remember it so vividly b/c I wanted to hear more... Why would they do this? Do you know which part Im talking about? Since I was 12 I have always asked that... Thoughts? Thanks.

Heroin in the dick...one route I never traveled either, thankfully...though i must admit there's some nice vein's there...okay, anyway, enough of that...yeah Bijou was kinda hung up on that issue, wouldn't ya say? I think she was trying to get dave to pull it out for her...didn't she know that back then, all she had to do was say "please"? just kidding. Wow i think this is my first post to make it in the top 25...

Question for Dave-
Any chance you'd ever post any audio or video from your TNO solo tour??? I personally thought the 9:30 Club show was one of the best gig's i've seen, and would love to see some clips or hear some of the clips. I'm sure the people who never got to see you play solo, would relish the chance to hear or see some of what they missed...

What's everyone's ballpark guess, as to when TPC will be ready??? I'm hoping by next spring...Hey D, my birthday is April 4th...hint hint...but i also celebrate XMAS! sorry...not trying to rush ya... ungrateful bastards we can be...you just gave us the book and we already want more!!!! BTW, i was skimming 'Scar Tissue', and noticed how Anthony mentioned someone at a meeting mentioning that Neil Young was their "higher power"... so I hope you don't mind that you & your art, represent to me, my higher power...along with Scott Weiland and his art as well. You have no idea how many rehab's Jane's got me through (Of course, I had to smuggle the tape in, and "borrow" a tape player at night for the purpose of listening to the relaxing sounds of the Ocean...except i was listening to the relaxing sounds of OCEANsize) Okay, the rambler is done again for now... love to hear from any members of the fam... time to take mi madre' out to lunch, but to quote ah-nuld...i'll be...ummm...back

Dave

i don't know if you'd know but what is Martyn LeNoble doing these days?

He seems to have dropped out of sight.I know he appeared on Banyans last cd and has alot of writing credit on Stray's and toured with J.A. a few years ago as did Mike Watt i think(could be mistaken there)
I always thought Martyn and Mike are amazing bass players.

I haven't heard about either of them for eons.

"Can I still give a B.J. with braces? I mean, will it be hard for me since I will have metal in my mouth?"
that would be an interesting question to ask the orthodontist!
I have braces and it is no problem at all... kissing isn't either (just be careful if the other person has braces too). it can actually be even more pleasurable if you learn some tricks but I won't go into detail with that....
For the first week after you get them on, it'll take a little getting used to as your mouth adjusts to it. Your inner lip will get sore, but as was said, wax helps a lot. I only used wax in one small area for not even a week and never needed it after that. Your teeth will be sore for a day or two after you get them tightened. You can always take some tylenol or aspirin for that. Orajel helps numb it, too. I'm sure your orthodontist has told you all that stuff. They're not as painful as they seem.
and word of advice- stay away from the sweets! No gum or sticky gooey stuff or really hard stuff. Lots of food gets caught in them so be sure to brush and floss regularly after every meal if you can.
i have about 3 more appointments before I get mine off.

Don't worry about it girl, you'll be fine and more than pleased with the end result. How long will you have them on for?

How sad about John Peel.

Peel was one of those people (such as LAs, Rodney Bingenheimer), who are in the music industry....living & working through so many eras of music...who seem to be there forever. They seem eternal.

Here in the States, I would always read about Peel in my days of buying the NME & Melody Maker, way back when I was in art high school.

He didn't seem to get much press in American music publications, though he helped so many bands such as The Cure etc..

If anyone is interested, there are many releases under the title; "The Peel Sessions....." (insert name of band here)

yeeaaah...tommy is sexy definitely because of the video! lol believe it or not, when i was in a film studies class at a particular university in the midwest, not to name names or professors... i had to borrow my professor's copy of 'heavy metal parking lot' since i missed the viewing in class & had to observe all sorts of aesthetics & content. anyway, he happened to have a lot of segments on the tape, mostly of music-related short films...one such included tommy & pam's video LOL so i was glad i could watch it sans the shame of renting or downloading it lol...hope that's not tmi. but ya know! he knew i'd probably be disturbed by the porn content (riiiight lol) so he warned me in advance. Hi all.

kyle~That's cool, be sure to let us know when it airs. I don't have Discovery, though, but I feel pretty confidant that some of my friends do so maybe I can check it out.

Today hasn't been a very good day. Just found out that my little dog has diabetes. She has cancer too. What's next? So as soon as the bloodworks comes back from the lab I'll have to give her insulin shots twice a day, plus she needs to be sterilized when they remove what's left (*knock on wood*) of the cancer (which equals more extensive surgery) She's lost nearly 1/3 of her body weight due to the diabetes. I really love her, you know. We're joined at the hip, she even sleeps in my bed at night (I can't sleep without her) I've had her since I was 12, she's my best friend ever (she's 9 1/2 years now) Ah well, I'll shut up now. It just feels like everyone around me gets sick, and I hate it.

I'm so tired.

Hope you're all well.

Dave,

I was watching the old 12/18/90 show at the Palladium recently. You, Perry, Steve, and Eric had the crowd in the palm of your hands. Do you miss seeing people going absolutely ape shit at your shows? I think to some people, seeing you live was a religious experience. I've heard stories of you all playing in Jersey on the 91 lolla tour, and as soon as you all came on, people were jumping over seats and fences trying to get to you all.

The more important question is what was your favorite live show from the 87-91 era? I know you were a little messed up then, but one show or a handfull of shows had to stick out as being amazing. And you know, if you have any of those old shows laying around, you could send them my way. ;)

thanks in advance

Hey Everyone!!!

I was listening to Howard Stern this morning and he had Tommy Lee on promoting his book. Carmen was a subject that came up.

Dave, did you and Carmen know prior to Tommy releasing his book that Carmen would be included in his book?

I'm sure either way, it isn't an issue for you because you and Carmen both know that you each have a past and are secure with that. I am just curious if Tommy had mentioned it to either one of you or if you had prior knowledge some other way.

Thanks for reading me!

Hey everyone! This is my first post here. I just found the place last night and spent hours just reading the archives. I absolutely LOVE the positive vibe here!

Dave,
I have a question for you...but it's not from me. The question is from my daughter, Ashlyn, who is 8 years old. She first saw you on Celebrity Poker and had an instant crush! ;-) However, her question is a serious one. My husband wanted to do something with Ashlyn to have more Daddy/Daughter time. They decided to learn to play the guitar together since neither knew how but both wanted to learn. They went out and they both picked out their own guitars. Ashlyn loves it, however I have a very impatient child on my hands. If she doesn't get something right off, she gets frustrated and upset. She says that famous guitar players probably never had trouble learning. I told her that I am sure even famous people had problems when they were first starting out. So, she wants to know if YOU ever got frustrated when you were first learning, and if so how did you handle it?
Thanks Dave!

Gagan

Vintage hoover reminded me of a story i read. Some guy used on himslf except he was gettin no joy with the pipe attachment,so he took it off and stuck it straight in the hole, except those old machines have metal blades on the fan,you can guess the rest, when the ambulance turned up he tried to make out he'd been attacked, but they followed the trail of blood to the cupboard, opened the door, and there was his blood soaked attacker,a vintage hoover.

OH YEAH!! I got a better story.

I have a friend who is a EMT and he arrived on a call with the dude in his tub. When he walked in the guy had a plunger in his bathtub and as he was gonn a"sit" he slipped and left and it ripped his bunghole.

I know, gross. WHen he told the story my butt started to hurt but it was funny. He said that he gets alot of call with people havein' stuff stuck in there bums all the time. I just thought I would share my pretty story.
Sorry, I know its gross.

Let me know anything about it.

Chantelle, best of luck. I hope everything works out with your dog. I know how important pets can be. I've had pets my entire life, and to this day still miss the ones that passed on. A pet is like a sibling, friend, child, and guardian angel all rolled up in one. For now, all I can say is, just keep giving her all the hugs & kisses that you can!

CC-OUCH

I work at a nursing home so alot of people who work there have worked in a hospital at sone time.

I got told this one.

Ok Man meets milk bottle, man falls in love with milk bottle, man gets stuck in milk bottle.
Apparantly a vacuum thing happened and he couldn't deflate and the milk bottle wasn't letting go for anything. They had to smash it to get him out.

I have a theory behind these sort of acts, doesn't explain the objects used though. That blood that keeps the brain normal has gone south, know what i mean.

hey dave-
if i'm correct you are half mexican, right?
do you listen to any latin music? and would you consider people like Carlos Santana and the Gypsy Kings an inspiration to you musically, or have you not really connected to that part of your background for whatever reason?
would you ever consider playing latin-influenced music?

Chantelle, I wish you strength! And remember that it might just be that she'll recover fully.

Our family had to put our dog to sleep when I was 12 and I sat there holding her in my arms. She had been a family member for longer than me. I felt like Kevorkian despite I knew she was suffering from a terminal illness. Later on, with time, I realised it was the only thing to do, no matter how painful it felt.

I just sincerely hope that won't happen with your dearest friend. You're in my thoughts!

Dave, I respect the fact that you are off drugs, but please reconsider after hearing me out. Acid-Reflux is a crippling condition that can ruin your career. Please take something to prevent that from happening to you.

Posted by: Tre at October 26, 2004 04:09 PM

Oh yeah, what's with the subjects in general?

Gone a day, come back and it's all about BJs with braces and shooting heroin in the dick and then sticking it in the hoover.

Well... I guess it's just richness of communicating :)

I believe Xiola was a friend of Perry's who OD'd and died at a very young age. Three Days' lyrics are (to my knowledge) about her, Casey and Perry. And that Then She Di(e)d is about her and Perry's mom.

Someone, correct me if I'm (a) mistaken (smart-ass).

Since Halloween is coming up I wanted to ask you if you remember the Relapse show at all from 10-31-97? Sorry about the first comment. Anyway, Dave, been a fan since 8th grade (I'm 33 now). I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma. One of my favorite works is Deconstruction. Simply incredible. (1) Is it true that Perry wrote the lyrics to that album and gave them to you and Eric as a "parting gift"? and (2) Have you and Eric ever talked/thought about collaborating again? Keep up the site. I wear my CF tee proudly. Peace!

Pekka, you cracked me up! :)

Regarding the 10/97 shows, I personally thought the 30th was a smidge better than the 31st. Even though the venue was the same, it just felt more intimate. There was more fire. Maybe because MTV wasn't there...

The "Getting to Know You" email... are we supposed to send it to just the people in our personal address books, or is there someone that's compiling the info? Just want to make sure I understood correctly.

Love and stuff,

I am a huge fan of Jane's Addiction as well as you, Stephen and Perry for your individual talents and Chris Chaney is a pretty killer bass player too. I saw you guys at Lollapalooza in Seattle and I get chills everytime I listen to Strays now. I'm happy that your still making music and I'm excited about The Panic Channel.

I'm 20 and getting passionate about pursuing music for the first time in my life. Singing in Particular. I get a lot of pessimism from some of my friends towards my aspirations and it hurts. What advice could you give me about that and my musical endeavors in general?

Hey Dave,

I asked this one before but posted it during the period you were heavily promoting your book etc. and weren't doing the 10 questions thing. I wanted to know that based on your comments that you see colours when you play, then does that mean you always see the same colour when you play a certain song? Or do the colours change each time? If they are always the same can you please provide some examples on what colours you see on certain songs.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hi Fam.
I feel like I’ve been in hiding for the past day and a half. I’ve been trying to upload and fix my pictures from this weekend. I know that lots of you are VR fans so check them out if you want. They are from the Phoenix show. [the reason I missed CF :( ]
Damn I guess I can’t have it all.

By the way, I included the good, the bad and the ugly. Can’t wait to buy a better camera. A lot of the pictures suck major…

I had an awesome time but still wish that I could have seen CF in New York. Next time I won't gamble before a trip.

Abby you'll still catch VR when they come to town. I'm going to miss them this December which is why I made it a point to go. The highlight of my day was listening to Superhuman. I felt like smoking a cigarette and I’m not really a smoker. That song just rocks.

Anyhow, I really wish I had a few clones

Hi.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their kind words. My little dog is getting all the hugs and kisses she can stand :) It's funny, though, because two days ago I was walking around downtown, feeling so un~fancy. So I bought a new lipstick and figured I'd fancy myself up a notch. Then after I got home, I noticed my dog having a pink circle on her forhead (her fur is white) and I couldn't for the life of me understand how she got it, until it dawned on me that I usually kiss her on the forhead...Now I know why I never wear lipstick :p

Today I noticed red, hairless spots on my neighbour's dog (neighbour= my scary grandpa who keeps his dog in a big cage in the front yard, and makes him stay in a room in the garage on his own) I dubt that scary grandpa will take him to the vet to have him checked out, he's more the type who'll just wait until the dog is really sick and then have him put to slep, rather than catching it at an early stage and getting treatment. I might just have to kidnap the poor old dog and take him to the vet, I'll have a closer look at him after it's dark so that scary grandpa wont see me.

*deep sigh*

I wonder why everyone around me gets sick (humans too) Am I radioactive or something?

Hope you're all well!

mornin' everyone!
i'm supose to be at my historyclass right now..but i can't stand my teacher so i decided not to go. he speaks very soft and i can hear some words (emma, what's the answer to my question etc) but i can't hear the actual question. i can't relax in his classes, i'm always nervous. i'm not the kind of person to be nervous about something that has to do with school, but he just gets on my nerves. he makes those sexual remarks, terrible jokes..and is just being a total asshole most of the time.
i believe he has some problems with his wife, marriage isn't going well..but that doesn't mean he can treat his students this way..
it's a pity couse i think history is very interesting, we're discussing Vietnam right now.
okay, see ya guys later, emma
chantelle good luck with your neighbour's dog and if your little dog can handle another hug, here it is! *hug*

Posted by: Emma at October 27, 2004 06:58 AM

emma~When I was in school I used to have a teacher who reminds me a bit about yours. At some point someone wrote a letter to the school administration and got him "reassigned" to a desk job somewhere else :p It sucked for him I guess, but some of the remarks he made was just out of line. I guess you could try to talk to someone at your school about it? If several people feel the way you do, I'm sure someone who works at your school can have a chat with him and let him know that some of the students take offence to the things he say.

I'll go give my dog that hug now, I'm sure she can handle one more (especially since I'm cooking steak for her :) As soon as her bloodworks come back from the lab she has to go on a very strict diet, though. I just hope it wont deprive her from finding joy in life, she loves to eat. And being hugged :)

I'm going to go finish dinner now :)

I just saw the Mars Volta at the Irvine Amphitheatre. It was sponsored by Indie 103.1 which I finally realized is the station you do the Camp Freddy Show on. Anyway, the Mars Volta were all too amazing, they only played 3 songs but it had to be an hour long set easily. I can't get over how amazing that show was. What do you think of Volta?

Pekka,
Hey, fellow Finn! I am ½ Finnish (hence the blonde hair if you’ve seen the 67 pix from NYC Camp Freddy), my dad is full-blooded. I have tons of relative over there, including a cousin named Pekka from Evijarvi, do you know where that is? Thanks for the pics from the VR show Wendybird! Weiland is my other "idol" of sort's...i relate so much to him...just like i do with Dave, so thanks for the VR update...besides, i grew up on GnR too, so when i heard Scott would be singing with them, and Kushner from DN's solo band would be joining them, it was an incredible re-birth for me, in an inspirational way...much the way TPC is for all of us... I saw VR's mini tour (before their album release) at the 9:30 club...back in May, but unfortunatley they're not coming any closer to me than Philly (i'm in Baltimore). I'll be finding out today whether my GF can take of work, so we can go up to Philly (finger's crossed)...don't want to have to leave her in the dust and go alone like i did to see Snoop Dogg & Korn...haha. Anyway, i doubt anyone is reading this, since i don't get much correspondence lol, but i don't care, i will still continue to exist in my world of my own making...bye to the fam for now...

Morning Dave and Family....Happy Hump Day!

Chantelle - I had a dog who lived for many years with diabetes...shots 2 times per day, prescription dog food, went blind from the diabetes...through it all, he adjusted remarkably well and had a very happy full life. I think it's harder on the owner...the shots never seemed to faze him at all and I eventually got used to giving them, he had to eat three times per day at very specific times and I had to monitor his water intake for the longest time...not to mention it was all very expensive...but, he was well worth the time, effort and expense and it did not slow him down one bit!

I want to thank Freak for sending me the "getting to know you" email and thank all of you who responded...it has been really fun reading them all and getting to know each of you a bit better.

Along those lines....Dave....since I'm sure you probably don't have time to respond to the whole questionnaire...what do YOU eat for breakfast???

The most importaint thing you can do is talk to your advisor or guidence counsoler about the class. The sooner you do it, the better because god forbid you should receive a bad grade from this guy and if you have complaints on record, you can contest it. That's how it works at my school at least.

I LOVE that line!!!! Don't we ALL?

Emma, Melissa is right. You have a right to an education, and an equal right to feel safe in your learning environment. Teachers like him, give teachers like us a bad name. You need to talk to a counselor and at the very least, have documentation of your concern. Perish the thought that this perv-in-training decides one day to take his innuendoes to the next level. Too bad he has problems, lots of teachers do, but for them to use their position of control to vent whatever sexual frustration they might be experiencing...ok, I'll stop...

I like to vent my sexual frustration HERE!!!!

Cori--Hi!!

Dave---um, I know your middle name, the same as my boy, and where you were born,I'm going to say Coke, not Pepsi, I think your favorite ice cream was Haagen-Dazs, so what is your favorite flower?

cori~The thought that she might go blind is a bit more than I can process right now. I know that seeing isn't as important for dogs as it is for people (I used to know a black lab that was blind, he managed just fine) but right now the thought of never having her look into my eyes again is just something I can't bare to think of. I love her big dark eyes (they're so dark brown that they appear to be black, and when she's looking straight ahead you can't see the white in her eyes. I've yet to meet a person who doesn't melt when she looks at them :) and I love the way she'll always keep me in sight when I try to trick her into going outside when she doesn't want to (she'll be on top of the stairs looking at me, and I'll go hide behind the car or move out of her sight and she'll always come running to find me :) The past couple of weeks I've felt like I've been able to see a graying area on her eyes, though. I don't know if it's just me. I hope it is! Bah, I need to go give her another hug (she's not feeling too well today, plus she's grumpy because I've had to put a prescription cream in her eyes (she's got some difficulties with her eyes, plus one of her knees. She had surgery on the other knee last year, then the other one started giving her trouble this winter. She's also had two surgeries to remove the cancer this summer. I don't know how much more surgery she can take :(

Chantelle - didn't mean to bum you out, just prepare you. And it really is not bad, I was one of the few who could tell he was blind, most be could not other than to comment on his "neat" looking eyes.

And, my dog still gazed at me with love, I think he looked at me through his soul, rather than his eyes. :)

Trust me Sweetie, it will be OK and you will deal and you will communicate on levels you never thought possible.

*Oh babiee, I'm so tired...*

Just had three exams today at school. Two tomorrow, one on friday. Trying to study but just don't have zie power no more. It's funny how you hate school during exam week although you're there outta your free will! I'll last, I guess.

Sue, so nice to hear you're a Finn. I'm from Helsinki, the capital down south. I know where your fam is from (checked the map to be sure, I confess) but I've never been there. You visited at a good time if you were here in the summertime. That's when the sun doesn't set. It's freaky but sure as hell beats the wintern when it's dark and freezing for six months or so! It's already below zero Celsius (32 Fahrenheit that is) here during night time, in the South! A "cool place" is the appropriate way to put it, I'm sure.

And Chantelle, I'm sure Cori meant to be prepared for it, not to expect it. Usually when you're prepared for something things tend to go ok. But if you're not prepared, that's when the shit hits the fan.

Dave, ever met Diamond Dave? He's so... diamond.

Take care all!

Freak... I tend to get attacked by door frames and wall corners. Metal bed frames enjoy snacking on my toes, as well do my stacked black boots when I leave them lying around. Never a table though... I'll keep an eye out for those. Thanks for the warning!

hey freak, i walked into a lamp-post a little while ago, it's was right in the middle of the sidewalk..and i was surrounded by a group of people i met for the first time (a get-to-know-each-other-day)
i also have the habbit of poking myself in the eye (accidentally)..but door frames, and wall corners love me too.
my head never found a table before, but my knees do, quite often
awesome :D

thanks everybody for the good advices on my historyteacher-problem! after all this i will discuss it with some peeps. at first i thought, i'll be leaving this school in a couple of months so why bother..but now i feel like i should do something. even if it's to protect all the poor little students he will be teaching in the future!

okay, i'm reading scar tissue at the moment so i'm off
later, emma
