Sweet Soul Mover
What up everybody? Friday in the hood. Just checking in, nothing much going on. Rehearsals, TPC stuff etc. Tomorrow I am going to join Chad Smith and Glenn Hughes to shoot a video for the song we did called Soul Mover. My understanding is that it will be for Europe only, but we will see what we can do about that won't we? The track is killer and I hope the video will be too. I'm always down for rocking with Chad. It'll be nice to join up once again. I have heard that there is also some forward movement on Shoot, the online jam. I'm psyched to check that out when it's done and ready for a little premiere. I have a Camp Freddy conferrence call to jump on so I'll keep it short and leave you with... "Have a nice day."

today I got my ears pierced!!
now I can wear pretty earrings and stuff. I said to myself I had to get my ears pierced before I could get a tattoo. in class I always fantasise about what kind of tattoo I want and I draw them so all my books are covered with drawings. my parents think tattoos are mutilation of the body but I think they're sexy and beautiful. so i'll get one someday, or even more than one. we'll see.
have a good day all,

what up dave & family :) xoxo
i totally have a new appreciation for God- and it is because of you: dave and the 6767 community. i know that sounds all evangelical-like, but i was in my theology class today & my professor said, "anything that gives you happiness in this life is derived from God, be it art, music, poetry". and i really believe that to be true. whether the music has a positive/angry/depressing/uplifting message, it challenges you to think in a new way and/or to realize that there are others that go through similar instances. we're all on 6767 because dave's music has inspired us. we help support each other because we have a common bond- the appreciation of music. whether we are talented enough to create music on our own or with the group, or to be supportive towards our fellow 6767-ers, is just as important. we all use our intellect, hearts, talents and knack for understanding and listening to one another to better the lives of others.
this is what i believe. i hope no one is offended by my beliefs but i wanted to share my new understanding of God through the music and the friends I've met through this community.
in no way do i believe to know everything or believe in everything God-related nor do i judge others for their views in support of/or denial of, because i, too, have conflicted feelings, but i thank you for helping me work out some of the feelings and questions i've had to try to understand where God's presence is in my life and my surroundings.

Hi Dave. Much love on you. So, I've been dying to ask: You enjoy sharing with us (and we love seeing!) your new ink. Have you had any other piercings that we perhaps haven't yet seen and that you'd care to share with us?
Best of luck on the video shoot tomorrow. "Break a leg" as they say in showbiz!

oooooooooooo new video when is it gonna be on mtv Dave ? Dave do you know when the chilis are planning to release another album? (It may seem weird to ask you but there isnt really any way to ask them because they dont have a site as good as this).
Just wondered whos is the Dave Navarro tattoo that is in the picture ? Its looks very good. Eventually one day when i have plucked up the courage im going to go and get Jane's Addiction tattooed on my right wrist. Im too scared to do it at the moment though i dont want to be stuck with a crap tattoo if the tattooist fucks it up.
Love always,

Dave.
What is your opinion on bands who slag off other bands
example:Oasis vs Blur,A.kiedis vs M.Patton, pretty much the whole rap scene. Is it publicity stunts, media manipulation or is it just petty mouthing off.
I think its pretty childish. In the case of the rap scene an insult can end in murder. Its unbelievable.
Just wondrin' what your take on all that kind of thing is.

OOO, we had something good on Top of the Pops for a change, Marilyn Manson, live covering one of my all time fave songs, from one of my all time fave bands, song~"Personal Jesus". Now I knew he was doing that song, but I didn't know he was going to be on tv tonight doing it. Yeah! Luckily I left the tv on.
Posted by: ylais at September 17, 2004 02:21 PM
Steve L, I think a lot of that stuff over here in the UK is the newspapers, tabloids especially setting it off to sell papers and it gets bands popular cos they get coverage, and lots of playing around amoung people in the bands, like banter. But in the USA it seems to have taken on something else, and I'd love to hear what Dave thinks about that too.

redhotchilifoo:
you know you can always ask on the RHCP message board.
At the moment the chilis are working on new material and will be hitting the studio soon if they haven't been already. A new album I'm guessing will probably be out by next summer or fall if all goes well.
they're keeping themselves busy jamming together and with friends, john has all his solo albums being released, they're doing charity shows, book signings, talk shows, girlfriends, kids, etc.

I totally agree, newspapers here in the UK luurrve a good celebrity falling out and fan the flames for all its worth,i can just imagine Liam Gallagher opening a newspaper only to read something less than flattering about himself and goin'"He fookin' said what,i'll fookin' have 'im"
Things can be read out of context.
In the U.S rap scene is that bad the need a army of body guards and a bullet proof car.Keepin' it real,is it worth a life.
Come to think of it,all the problems in the world at the moment, suicide bombers, genocide,is there any problem in this world that can be solved without killing,in what ever name or cause.
They'll have to justify it at the pearly gates i guess.
sorry,i went off on one there

Ellen- great thoughts!
I personally don't believe in a God per say, but I do beleive in the power of the human spirit. Of all the religions out there, Buddhism makes the most sense to me somehow. I think we have the power to direct our lives in the direction we want it to go and to overcome most any obsticles thrown at us. There is no solid proof anywhere that anyone or anything from above dictates what happens to us. Well, i haven't seen any at least.
unfortunately there is a negative side to humanity- blinders and fear of that which is different, jealousy, resentment, irresponsibility, thoughtlessness- that leads to things such as war.
I so agree that it is great to have a place such as this site and what will become of thepanicchannel.com where people with a common interest can come together and share their thoughts, experiences, lives with each other in an open and thoughful way. Perhaps all humanity as a whole needs to put an end to war is to find a common interest to come together on?
Has anyone been to Lake Shrine by the beach in LA? They have a monument dedicated to all religions of the world and human unity. They also have a Ghandi memorial where part of his ashes are buried.
Steve L- the bootlegs have been burned and they will be shipped out tomorrow! I haven't forgotten about you.

6767 Family-
To all you cat lovers out there....
Last night around 9:00pm i was watching TV and my girlfriend went out on a walk. She goes every night, anyway she came back in like 10 mins panic stricken telling me I had to come right away to the end of our road that there was a cat stuck up in a tree. now yesterday morning i remember seeing a lady and a little girl pointing up into the tree at about 8:00am on my way to work. i thought nothing of it at the time but relized this cat had been up the tree since then. So i moved into action. i road my bike down to the end of the road and set the bike against the tree while my girlfriend held a flashlight. so i climbed up the tree and met the cat up there. the poor thing was so scared and it was meowing none stop. when i got up there the cat started loving on me rubbing its head all over my hands ( I have never seen the cat before and i am not a real "Cat Person") This actually made me feel good and forget the fact that i was about 20 feet in the air in the dark and i am not to good with heights. so I get the cat in my arms and i lifted my shirt up and around it and held onto it with my left arm. No i realize i have to climb down with one arm. SHIT was the first word out of my mouth. Anyway so i climb down and get to the lowest branch (approx 7ft off the ground)Did i mention i couldn't see down due to the fact the cat was in my arm so i had to get down with the trust of my girlfriend telling me where to put my next foot. Anyway i couldn't spin around to climb down so i decided to "Hang Drop" with 1 arm. so now the cat was rescued and i have what is the equivalant to road rash up my right arm from the middle of the inside of my forearm to the top of my bicep from the tree bark. but the important thing is that the cat was saved my girlfriend was happy (she is a big animal lover) and she showed me how happy she was later on that night!!! Alls good!!

Hey Guys! I just wanted to thank everyone that responded to me on my last post. You all really made my day! I had such a terrific day today. I was wondering how one could post a photo on this site? The reason I ask is because, ironically enough, my husband truly resembles Dave. It's crazy, I know, but I am sooo serious!!! I remember seeing Dave and Carmen reciting there vows and thinking " That is so how Jon-Boy and I feel for each other." then I looked at Dave and thought " o my God , Dave looks like Jon!" It's silly , but I am sooooo for real!!! Anyway, Thank you 6767 community for taking the time for little ol' me. And Thanks to Dave for letting all this wonderful stuff go down!! And Ellen , I choose to beleive in what I call spiritual awakenings , and no matter the amount that it comes in , I beleive that is what you had experinced. These are wonderful gifts to receive from whatever source they come in. To me , I receive my spirituality from a "Higher Power". -Shawna

Hey Dave, just wanted to say thanks.
My father had emergency quadrupalle bypass surgery yesterday, we found out the night before that this was going to happen. Because my dad and I are so much the same in the way we are built, my entire familly started lecturing me! I know they were just letting off steam but I was just worried about my dad and trying to get through this. Worry about me next week. Even the doctor came out, picked me out started giving me crap. I've had TNO on my Mp3 player for a while and I spent the entire five hour surgery listing to it. I just relaxed and ignored my family. I felt like I was 15 again hiding behind my walkman and long hair, listening to depeche mode tapes.lol Thanks to you I was able to relax and not get into it with my family. I love what you do with this site and everyone here is so positive. Thank you so much for giving us all a place to come, and amazing music to listen to.

Hi all!
Glad to hear the cat was rescued. We were not so lucky here.
Yesterday IVAN struck Pittsburgh - my office was closed and at my second job (FEDEX) we got flooded in; I couldn't leave until after 8 and it is a 20 mile drive. There were still 8 drivers out - it was scary. The hubby is a radio announcer and got stuck at work until after 9. Our son was stuck a the sitters until I picked him up at 8:30. My mom (who had recent heart surgery) lost all power/phones and my dad who drives tour bus was out of town. My sister and niece, on their way to NYC for Broadway callbacks, were stuck on I-80 for almost 4 hours because of a fatality.
I told the hubby if he got home first (which he did) to find our 3 kittens and get them in the house. They had nearly drowned. I checked on them ever couple of hours . . . we lost one. They took on so much water and it makes me sick. My son is having a hard time with this, they were his kittens. I am so mad at the mother - she abandoned them in this terrible weather. Anyone who wants to see a picture of my babies, write - I will send one!
Thanks for letting me share . . .

Mortisa8: I so agree with your thoughts "the power of the human spirit". I was raised in an organized religion, but more and more I realize that "religion" is what you make it, and people kill in the name of religion because they think their beliefs are the only ones that are right. I think religion is so much about structure and inflexibility and intolerance for any other person or belief system. There are many ways to get to spiritual fulfillment, and loving who you are and appreciating the differences in others is the way to fulfillment. Choose to reject the negativity and focus on the happy. I really think Dave has been a great example of that.
ok, I'm done :)
r3-Wonderful! I hope you can keep the kitty and let us know how s/he is doing. I'm a big time dog person like Cori, but I'm glad for you and your girlfriend and your reward ..

Hey Lisa, I am listening to CFR too, heard them not quite dissin' the IE....made me laugh out loud when Billy said everyone in Hollywood had a backstage pass, but no IE peeps did...Did you hear Donovan ask if IE even got indie radio?
I guess Redlands is the IE, though we try to distance ourself, we are smack dab in the no man's land between the 909 and the 951
I was born in L.A, but have called the IE my home since I was a child. I love being an hour away from everything, mountains, beach, desert....and I can still be home by sunset..
Anyway, stayed out of the "religion" talk on this thread, it's funny what I am passionate about, my girls and my 'hood!!

Dave--much love, but:
LAY OFF THE WAH!!!!!!!
You're starting to sound a bit like Kirk Hammett nowadays!
(so easy to critique on the Internet!)
Later bro--more guitar less bidness.

Hey guys. Hows it going? Was wondering if anyone could help me, I have an idea for a song which requires a loop. The loop would be of a police siren constantly going off during the song. Does anyone have access to such a loop? would be greatly received! Cheers! Also Dave, what do you think to Chris Cornell? Thanks in advance guys! Simon.
