Shane, thanks for the update, especially this:

"I know there were a lot of happy people in our neigborhood but the biggest smiles had to be on those 5 power guys faces when I came around the corner with those beers. They had driven straight in from kansas, slept 5 hours and had been working for 18 hours straight. And they weren't about to stop. those guys are my heros."

Long time fan I mean a really long time. Thought it would be funny to mention Cheney actually produced a song for a neighbor of mine in "the OC" sorry I missed that session. Oh before I forget to mention, the next time your in the OC and you decide to go into a small restaurant in Costa Mesa, let me know so I don't take the evening off, so I can at least introduce myself. Hope NYC is a blast

Hey Obvious,
I managed to get a rough (really rough) copy of the TDDUP logo and I had no luck either. You could try browsing on www.myfonts.com or upload an image onto the forum and hope someone recognises it. www.fontsearchengine.com can be good too. It looks as if they've used a font and tweaked it to make it a bit mor unique (and to justify massive design bills! hehe). If you can scan or download a crisp copy of it, you could place it onto an Illustrator/Freehand page, type an 'S' (if that's all you want) over the top in a similar font, convert it to paths and tweak it till it matches, tracing the image beneath. If you can get a good version, I'll be happy to have a go and email it.
Cheers

Hi Dave n' all!

Been abroad on vacation for over a week so I've got a lot of catching up to do! Nice to see the place running well (maybe my narcissistic paranoia suggested that it needs me to run :-) j/k!)

Dave, when do get back, man?!! We're so hollow without you!! I hope you enjoy your stay in NY and have a lot to tell us when you get back to LA.

Peace, love, happiness and all that to everyone!

So Dave, I read a very interesting interview

with Stephen Perkins a long time ago.

He talked about the polyrhytms technique

used on his playing. It must be a big hand

for you to construct the songs, doesn´t it?

I play guitar, but to me he is one of the

drummers i´ve ever heard.

Tell him that we (brazillians) like a lot

of his style. We are very percussive people.

Grateful ever.

I tried to said THE BEST drummer, hehe.

Forgot that word.

Hey Dave,

Awful weather today, huh Dave? It seemed to rain for HOURS this morning!! Now it's muggy!

While you are in NYC, are you filming a video or something at the SilverCup OR Kaufmann studios?? Just thought I'd ask since I live walking distance between both studios.

I'll just drop by & take some photos!! LOL

Btw, didn't you & Carmen film some movie cameos at SilverCup a few years ago?? Some movie with Brittany Murphy?

Yes, WHAT is going on about the NYC gig next month?? I've waited so long to see you live again (last time was RHCP at MSG & Jane's at the Hammerstein), I don't want to miss this gig. Is it 'industry only', if it is....that really SUCKS!

It would be nice to put the handful of NYC area fans who post here on the Guest List....HINT...HINT!! I think there are only about 4 of us! LOL And I'll be more than happy to photograph the gig.

Take care,

Sorry for the double post, a message said to "Post Again'!

Btw, I have been receiving emails from some posters here. When I receive them, they are coming through as spam with virus attachments??? Is anyone else having this problem?

I would hope that NONE of the '6767 Community' here IS sending me viruses!

None of these emails will open anyway. I DO recognize the Senders, but I'm unable to open them. This has been going on for a few weeks.

There is also a message to open these emails if you click on a link, THEN it reads "Session is over". LOL

I do apologize if these emails ARE legit & I haven't answered them.

I think I got a few from Ozzy & Ryan, again....sorry.

Dave,

Gotta say that Hope off of Deconstruction is an absolutely blindinly great track. I love the chanting in the background. Reminds me of an album by a band called VAST, although that album was released after Deconstruction.

The reason for this post is that the band I'm in at the moment want to do a "re-interpretation" of LA Song off the above album. We've fleshed the song out to about 10 mins and changed the lyrics a bit. Is that okay with you? Can I send the finished track here somehow?

Thanks.

Thanks for the info Cynthia!

In the beginning when I first started posting here, I WAS getting some nasty, threatening, juvenile emails from some guy who wanted to pick a fight over my comments about the few rude posts which he had directed to Dave & Carmen. .

I figured he was the person sending these current 'virus' emails. He's been blocked anyway. Plus, any one person sending all these different emails would need to have a lot of free time to come up with all those fake email addys! Sometimes I get about 15 a day!

I have a Mac, so I don't really have too many problems with the viruses, but I WAS wondering what the heck was going on! LOL

I certainly didn't want anyone to think that I was sending them viruses either!

Thanks again.

Hey Dave n' "fam"....hope everyone is well, Frances has arrived in PA...ugh all this rain, glad to hear those of u in FL are ok! Oh it would be great to take a short trip to NYC for a show..NYC traffic was CRAZY last time I was there, I dunno how u's drive in it everyday..talk about road rage..hehe.

Itanja, I was also getting some emails that had to do with this site....pictures too! It was weird because they were from my boss, he NEVER emails within the offices. No more outlook express for me... Had to block my own boss, never thought I'd be doing that.

Peace n' luv to u's

Itanja and Ellen...i'm down with a 6767 pow wow gig in NYC...and itanja...you make a very good point about letting a few select in lol...but that's up to dave and all lol.

recently my virus got infected with a TON of viruses...about 80 or so...b/c i just plugged into my school's network w/o virus protection (in all fairness...it wouldn't let me d/l it)...so my whore of a computer basically had unprotected sex with every computer on the campus...and i believe one of the viruses was a spammer e-mail thing...so if anyone got anything from me, i apologize...officially my computer is dead right now...so i'm using the very safe school computers that are super protected. so once again i apologize for any trouble i may have caused if any.

and crecencia...don't worry about it what so ever...i just appreciate the effort and that you thought of me lol. i totally understand being forgetful...i'm the same way lol. thanks!

adios everyone!

Posted by: UteroiD at September 8, 2004 02:06 PM

I also had a saving grace from dave today. I'm having an absolutely shitty day and I am getting tossed around like the consolation prize here at work. I am really struggling to stay positive about it right now. So I came back to my desk after wasting 4 hours of my day doing something for another department just to find out what I was doing wasn't needed anymore. Put Spread on to listen to and at least now I am calm. Dave always help me cycle through emotions faster than I normally would be. Without this I would still be the angry part and not be able to deal with the issues at hand.

So dave... THANK YOU for saving me once again. Maybe I should start a tick board for everytime TNO or Spread saves me.

Ok this post is getting long... one more thought. I have had writers block for about a year now because I seem to only be inspired by lonliness and saddess and since i have not felt that much I have been empty of ideas. I have notebooks of stuff I have written in the past. Do you think it would be unhealthy to go back through those and try to bring some of those memories back to write?

Hey Whitepony

I often write about things in my past, from old relationships to crazy, insane, drug fulled weekends. I also keep a couple of things laying around to remind me why I left that life, and what it took to get out. Often it helps me appreciate what I have now. I picked up a book a few years ago called "The Artist Way". It has a bunch of exercises to kick your creativity into high gear. I don't swear by it, but its got some good ideas. Check it out.

Posted by: Shane at September 8, 2004 06:18 PM

Itanja and Emily, what a brilliant suggestion! ;) NYC show = I'm there. I live only 15 minutes away, so it's cake for me. I'm looking forward to meeting you guys! How many of us are there? T, you going, or is that a stupid question? I think you're right Itanja, I think there really are only about 4 of us from the 6767 family in the NY area... anyone else going besides Itanja, Emily and I?

Posted by: Deena13 at September 8, 2004 06:32 PM

my first post Dave...
i've been a fan since the late 80's and it's amazing to see the sparkle in your eye now and I would like to thank you for openning your life to all of us...you are an inspiration to all...it's been a great ride and it just gets better...

Pony~Been there too with the block, I'd say only go back into past when you are ready too. To get over some things, say like a relationship; I put away anything that reminded me off it, and that helped me a lot with my feelings.
After a while though, I found I could look at them or touch them again, and the memories are still there, but the hurt is so much less. It gets like looking back at someone else's life then, rather than your own so closely.

I do sometimes write or draw when I am really in the midst of strong emotions, or boredom, and find it works, just pick uo the pen and paper and write or doodle anything, like whatever comes to mind.

Hi Twisted Angel,

I just went to the Irving Plaza website. Here are the listings for the end of October.

Dave DID post that the CF show was around Oct 29th, correct??

10/29 THE REUNION OF A GENERATION; THE BIG HALLOWEEN SHOW Glenn Tilbrook (from Squeeze) & The Fluffers w/ The Smithereens; Marshall Crenshaw; Graham Parker

10/30 Gogol Bordello w/ special guests
I just checked, Gogol Bordello aren't CF under another name. lol Perhaps CF are the "special guests"?

http://www.irvingplaza.com/calendar/

I have no idea what is going on, I haven't picked up this weeks Village Voice to see if Camp Freddy has been added to the Irving Plaza listings. Sorry.

The only other suggestion, is to check Ticketmaster listings OR just wait for Dave to provide info.

take care,

I can't believe someone even thought that was Carmen's blog. We sussed out a few days ago, which is how long it's been on since about Sept 3rd, that is was NOT Carmen, but people keep coming on here and linking to it.
Also if you look at that blog's links, the "Dave" link is to a Dave Navarro website, and that Dave Navarro is a web designer, or so he says on his website. I suppose someone saw that and thought it was amusing.

Panic Channel people, you may want to check out Steve Isaac's blog to see what's going on.

I was here playing with Usher for the Fashion Rocks event that will air on September 26th on FOX. I also got the honor of introducing Mary J. Blige doing a Janis Joplin cover. Man, she killed it. Usher was totally cool and humble. A total pro. I was very impressed by his work ethic and his dedication to what he does. The show was mainly a mix of rock and R & B so I felt honored to be a part of it and represent our community and sensibilities.I hope there is a good movie on this flight.

1st Secret Show Clue:

It's very far away
It takes about a half and a day to get there
If we travel by my uh, dragon fly
No it's not in Spain
But all the same you know, it's a groovy name
And the wind's just right
Hey!

Hey Dave,

Is it true that back in the day JA were approached about possibly doing an MTV unplugged session? That would have been an amazing show.

Listening to Worst Case Scenario by dEUS at the moment. Haven't listened to it for a while and forgot how brilliant Suds and Soda and how beautiful Hotellounge were. I highly recommend this album to everyone.

Peace out,

Canine.

Dave~Glad you had a great time in NYC. Wish I could see that when it airs on FOX.

Kyle~looking forward to hearing those vocals, and what FreAk does with them.

How am I going to even get the clues being clueless in the UK? Wait I do have the clues, so how can I be clueless? I doubt I'll get any of them is what I mean.

Love to all,

Posted by: Live Life 131 at September 9, 2004 05:56 PM

Great Dave, as if I didnt already waste enough time on the web - I am now trying to unlock the "Dave Navarro Code" - I know have viewed Last Supper in a whole new way, I didnt expect that I would have to hold my computer up to the mirror to figure out the secret code: Spanish Castle Magic. But I got it - See you at the show....ummm, I think.

Posted by: billymcd at September 9, 2004 06:02 PM

I see no clue on The Panic Channel website either.

Anyone close to getting it yet?

The Jimi Hendrix Experience.........

played The Forum in LA in 1970, and the setlist was that song first.

I may be on a total wild goose chase.

"you think there could be any chance of a ja reunion in the next 15 years?"

would everybody just SHUT UP about janes already... its over with, done, gone, not coming back soon... GET OVER IT!! move on with your sad little lives and savor the memories.

sorry to be so frank, but it really needed to be said.

Posted by: me at September 9, 2004 06:34 PM

So, so far, the NYC show group consists of: Ellen, Itanja, T, Twisted Angel, Live Life 131, and me, right? That's 6 of us, and that's a pretty small group! It'll be easy for us to meet up there and whatnot! As far as tix, the Camp Freddy site mentions the Irving Plaza show, as well as the Step Up Network, but the Irving Plaza website does not. I hope it's going to be open to the public... As far as the first Panic Channel show... I got the clue on the website (that was WAY clever!) but aside from being a Jimi song, I can't figure out the Spainish Channel Magic clue yet... still thinking.

T, you moved AGAIN!? AAHH!!! I've got to give you a call!

Posted by: Deena13 at September 9, 2004 06:40 PM

ok, now I'm totally lost

Posted by: wendybird at September 9, 2004 06:46 PM

hmm. i think i may have got it too.
i was thinking the wrong way before, i think. :P

Posted by: ylais at September 9, 2004 06:50 PM

plus it wasn't "the jimi hendrix experience" anymore then..o.o okay, i'm turning off now.

Posted by: ylais at September 9, 2004 06:59 PM

Whoohoo I got the first clue

Posted by: wendybird at September 9, 2004 07:14 PM

i am DEFINITELY in for the Irving Plaza show. i seriously have no idea how to get tickets but hopefully we can have our lil' pow wow and have a f*n awesome time! dave, are we able to get tickets and if so, please let us know how!!

Posted by: Abby at September 9, 2004 07:36 PM

...I can go to sleep now.

wtf?!? i can't find the panic channel clue... help?

Posted by: me at September 9, 2004 07:56 PM

I still can't figure out the Spanish Magic Castle clue. My head is going in a few wrong directions. First I thought of Downtown Disney because of the castle thing, then I thought maybe the Avalon which was formerly the Palace but palace doesn't mean castle and the magic thing is out the window and I'm not sure what the root of Avalon means. Then I thought maybe the Mission Inn in Riverside but that's not really a concert place and although it's magical it doesn't seem to fit and I'm completely clueless with the mirror thing. So I guess I'll give up for tonight. I know I'm really neurotic; I hate not figuring out things. Anyhow I arrived at all these dead ends with the help of a bunch of professors here at work, so much for a college degree. It’s probably something so simple yet I still can’t get it. It’s back to square one tomorrow. Have a good night

Posted by: wendybird at September 9, 2004 08:46 PM

If I said it had something to do with Santa Monica, would I be close?

people you are thinking too hard.

I'm really lovin' this 1st clue! :)))

According to the site for the Step Up/Women's Network, tickets for the Camp Freddy show in NYC go on sale September 23rd:

I plan on making the pilgrimage.

oh Dave and Steve please don't forget a clue as to WHEN.. otherwise you'll come out on stage and all you'll see is an empty venue and all you'll hear is a lonely cricket.

Posted by: mortisha8 at September 9, 2004 09:37 PM

Aha maria...and you thought you were so smart ;) ...there is a clue as to when!

Posted by: Abby at September 9, 2004 09:54 PM

Dave,

This is a *fun* game! Hope you don't mind if I offer a little assistance...the TPC.com clue is 'hidden' guys! There's no page *beyond* the intro (that I know of), but you have to look very hard. Some people might find it accidentally, but those that know where to look will find it right away. I don't want to give it away totally...I'll let the clue master have the pleasure!

My guess on the Spanish Castle Magic is...SanFran!!! The Bay Area island of Alcatraz was named by Spanish explorers, and the prison built there eventually was like a castle. I dunno, it's probably a stretch, but guessing is fun!

Anyways, Dave, thanks for checking in man. Great to hear from you!

I think people in the US near L.A. should be very very happy that they have a pretty good chance to attend the gig and i am sure anybody will be able to figure the clues out soon...so calm down.

I cannot go as i am in Europe and its breaking me already and making me terribly sad...so i totally agree with Obvious:

Please if possible try to record the show for us .....that would be really really kind....(posted this on Steve's site too).

love,
*~Astrid~*

Maybe it will be at the actual Magic Castle in Hollywood? It's on Highland I think. But I heard you have to be invited by an actual member to get into the Castle....

I am having a major moral dilemma here!!!!!!! I think I have it "pinned down." Thanks to all for the hints. I think it is easy to figure out if your a Dave/Hendrix buff. I looked it up and its not posted at the venue yet. I feel obligated here to disclose where it is becuase everybody here rocks! I could drop hints here. Maybe..... I am right, maybe I am wrong, maybe its a leap of faith, maybe I have read too many guitar interviews about Dave on my lunch breaks at work, but if I am correct I would wreck the suprise......which would spoil the fun intentions Dave and the fellas have here. So I will just wait and see if I am correct....

Hi Everyone!
How are you all?
Doing my check in.
San Fran is about half a day away from LA. So that occurred to me too.
Plus the strong ties with Hendrix and San Fran.
But hey, this is the FIRST clue.
Which usually means they''ll be more clues. ;)

Love and peace to you all
