Fry Day (hot)

UsherGood morning. So it looks like tomorrow's Camp Freddy radio is in full effect. It'll be me and Billy for two fun filled hours on Indie 103.1 FM. New York ruled. I had to post about it from my sidekick on the comments page:

"What's up everybody? I'm in the car headed to the airport. New York was awesome! The weather was actually really nice, light rain, overcast but not too soggy. I was here playing with Usher for the Fashion Rocks event that will air on September 26th on FOX. I also got the honor of introducing Mary J. Blige doing a Janis Joplin cover. Man, she killed it. Usher was totally cool and humble. A total pro. I was very impressed by his work ethic and his dedication to what he does. The show was mainly a mix of rock and R & B so I felt honored to be a part of it and represent our community and sensibilities. I hope there is a good movie on this flight.

1st Secret Show Clue:

Spanish Castle Magic"

So the game is fun? It seems that we need to make it harder as you all are just too far advanced in the computer world. What I will tell you is that we are not playing under the name, The Panic Channel for this. We want to keep the show under the radar and make it a special thing for the fans only. More will be revealed. I'm off to the gym and rehearsal so I will catch up later. Just wanted to say, "hi" more than anything.

Peace Lovers,

Dave

I so wished I was in North America right now. Damn lack of money and uni commitments keeping me here. Let's hope there's some way of sharing the gig with all us other fans!

Question time. What do you think of Australia? Did you enjoy touring here in early 2003? After years of touring, do you feel that you take for granted all of the travelling you do? Like do you still see the sights etc every time you go to an overseas city.....

Hi Dave - "Good Morning"... that's funny. Well I guess 11:59 is still morning... I can't wait to listen to the radio tomorrow! What time do you go on? =)

Great to have you back Dave!

Love starting my work day to see what is going on. Have you ever thought of becoming a mental health professional? So many people seek your wisdom! Cool!

You are getting out of the east before IVAN hits - go for it - we in PA are dealing with the floods from Francis - who knows what next week will bring.

Always,

A hearty "wuz up?!" back to Dave as well.

yep, definitely a Fry Day. My lord is it toasty out there! I am hitting the beach tomorrow to get away from this valley heat. Sunday is the Ramone's Anniversary Bash! Can't wait.

try not to make the clues too much harder, I don't think we're *that* sure of ourselves and are probably confusing each other!

Peace out

I go away for a few weeks and your talking in a strange computer orientated language I don’t understand – very strange… Anyway I’ve noticed in some of the posts you’ve said things along the lines of people have to hit rock bottom before they sort themselves out… Now you never actually seemed to do that, or was it just less public than others?

Also noticed you said you knew Coyote Shivers, so be a good influence and encourage him to actually post some naked pics on his website cos its not nice to teasing us… actually its really fucking annoying… but while were on the subject…
Keep smiling

BTW about crop circles, did you ever hear the theory that they were created by rampaging hedgehogs?

Hey Dave and Everyone

Dave,i have a kind of 2 in one question.
I've just this past week rediscovered Faith No More and and i have to say Jim Martin is awsome(i knew it,i just forgot it)they were all great for that matter,my piont being i went off them years ago because i think everyone i knew was into them and they got hyped alot(i alway's used to go the opposite to what's IN at the time,i don't know why)Question:do you think "Hype" is a good thing or a bad thing?.

Point 2:now i have rediscovered J.Martin i'm inspired,
Question:Do you get inspired by music that touches you,not to copy but to attempt to replicate the same emotion that you got from that music?

Peace and love to all

Hey Dave,
Glad you had fun in New york. Good to be home? Make life fun, dont sweat small stuff. Do what you love to do. Have a good day.

DN: "So is the game fun?" Hell yeah it is!

Hot damn, a clue has just made my day big time - primarily speaking, my upcoming vaca. to San Diego for my friend's wedding. Just to think I almost changed our departure date this week and that would of messed everything up. As the old saying goes, "what is meant to be, is meant to be.." Suffice to say, we'll be spending our first couple of days in LA (hopefully) before we have to head back to San Diego. This could turn into a trip of a lifetime..

Cheers Everyone!

Sept. 10 was a Monday. The talk of the day was Kansas City pharmacist Robert Courtney's deliberate dilution of chemotherapy drugs, Michael Jordan's possible return to the NBA, and congressional intern Chandra Levy's suspicious disappearance.
Chiefs fans grumbled about a last-second loss to the Oakland Raiders at Arrowhead, as federal health officials warned that a new threat known as West Nile virus was spreading rapidly to the Midwest. Sept. 10, 2001.

Hey Dave,

I had a dream you gave me your guitar after playing a show. I admire your skills so much and have mad respect for you as a musician. I love it when people are having fun on stage, it makes the music so much better. Any advice for a beginning guitarist trying to find their sound and make their voice heard?

Posted by: Heather at September 10, 2004 07:54 PM

see you at the show!

Posted by: Dragon Fly at September 10, 2004 08:26 PM

Dave, why the Strat instead of the white PRS when you played with Usher?

Posted by: americanzer0 at September 10, 2004 08:30 PM

The clue on the P.C. website is gone... I'm still clueless about the spanish castle magic thing. Maybe it has something to do with a place in California, and I'm not getting it because I'm not familiar with the territory out there? I'm assuming it's going to be in CA or NY, most likely CA...

So the Camp Freddy NY show... it's unrelated to the P.C. show, but still happening, right? I hope so. I wish we had more info about it.

Posted by: Deena13 at September 10, 2004 08:52 PM

Dave

Could you maybe take care of this question for Carmen? Why Coke & not pepsi????

Also do you even watch Entourage or is it just bizznaz?

on thepanicchannel.com, that is...

I can't believe I turned 23 today. I remember first seeing Dave's picture in the magazine and fell in love* when I was 16.

I remember stumbling onto the first website created by Dave back when I was about 19. The navigation page was blue and was pieced together like a puzzle. It had a picture of a little unicorn that blended with the rest of the navigation puzzle. I actually saved everything up until May of this year. That's when my hard drive finally crashed and I lost everything.

Dave, if I'm not mistaken...didn't you have a story on your first website called "L.A. Monster"?? There was a Part 1 and 2 but it was never finished... I remember checking back every week to see if more would get added and then one day, the site changed to black and red, renamed Spread, and all was gone!

Will the PC gig be in Southern California? I recall waiting to get tickets to see your show back in September 2001, but it was cancelled due to unexpected 'events'.

Always hopeful.

Once you and your new band start touring and stuff, I don't know if you have any control over this but you think you could make a stop to the Orange County area? Like maybe the House of Blues in Anaheim or the Irvine Ampitheatre. I'd be pretty disappointed in myself if I missed seeing you guys perform since that's what it's all about so thanks for performing bro.

hey Dave!
Just came across your blog. really looking forward to seeing your book next month (im counting on the amazon.com release date to be correct) hehe.

I've been listening to your solo album a lot lately, and it's just been really inspiring. I've been messing around more with electronics and synthesizers for the past two years, and recently bought a bass..
but, listening to your album, made me pick up my guitar and make it the central driving force of my stuff, instead of the usual electronic beats and synths.
thanks a lot!

Just wanted to thank you for that, and thought I'd say hi and see how you're doing. maybe we can chat sometime about music or life, write me if you like :)

Good night,
Mike (from Canada)

Hey Dave, What do you think of the band Fishbone?

Posted by: Fabian at September 10, 2004 11:40 PM

Dave

I hate to ask a peppers question however I must. My fave peppers track from OHM is "My Friends". I was wondering what kind of input did you have while recording this song. It seems very different from anything any version of the peppers have ever done. More of that light latin guitar sound with layard lyrics if you will. I love the song especially the last few lyrics.

"Imagine me taught by tragedy
Release is peace"

Plus the sight of you on a boat in a priest outfit while blinded is for some reason especially bad ass. I CLEARLY remember watching the "my friends" & "aeroplane" videos everyday on mtv's morning video rotation during my first year of middleschool.

Dave please come near the southern eastern coast soon.

Just wanted to pop in since I haven't posted in a few days. Getting ready for my move, so I'm running in a million directions at once. LOL Tomorrow (Saturday) is my last day at my job, so I'll have more time to focus on everything I need to do before I leave for Chicago next Saturday...

all I really want to say is whatever. it must be scary sometimes, being a celebrity, by definition. You have validated your 'status', been in something documented as 'celebrity'. I love the origin...celebrate... to make merry...cooooooool.

I'm a 'celebrity'( by the by, have any of you seen ...never mind. ..forgot...I had a driver tonight, with an awesome stereo in the back, and I got to sit there, watching lightning storms, smelling the air, with Zeppelin playing in the back seat. what a dream come true........you get into a zone... hard to snap out of...TRUER... cause it's happening when you are "sober" ( good lord, I just noticed a lot of austin powers lazer quotation marks in this post....byegones)
Does anyone remember the Friends episode where Rachel threw the cell phone on ice, saying nonchalantly '''And that's what they call.....closure"?
it's kinda like that

I know its seems you're all alone
No one to care,
With such a heavy burden
That you alone must bear.
I may not know just what to say
Nor exactly what to do,
Be assured that I'm
praying just for you.
So even though it seems that
storm clouds fill your day,
I know the Lord has heard my prayer,
and help is on the way.
