Correction: ...On Earth
We played our "private party" last night at the Anaheim House of Blues. It was an amazing show. Everybody played and sang great. Courtney! Wow! She is doing so good now. A pleasure to be around and an incredible presence on stage. Undeniable. Right before we played, Jay Leno and Robin Williams each did a set of comedy. (This guy really knows how to throw a party) My friend Gregg got some great photos and when he sends them to me I will put up a few. It was an incredible set. Steve Jones came up and played guitar on Pretty Vacant and Bodies by his old band The Sex Pistols. McGrath sang Pretty Vacant and Scott Wieland sang Bodies. They both nailed the tracks. As an encore, as in true Camp Freddy form, we did Iggy's "I Wanna Be Your Dog" and had everyone out on stage: Courtney, Scott, Mark, Steve Jones, Billy Duffy, Jerry Cantrell, Lisa Leverage and the rest of the core band, me, Billy Morrison, Matt Sorum, Chris Chaney and Donovan. Earlier, Donovan did a great job with "Metro" by Berlin, which we just threw in there last minute. I think it was our first New Wave CF moment. What is so amazing about this band is that there has never been an ego problem with anyone. It's like we all check our egos at the door and just play because we love the music and there is so much mutual respect flying around. Just like when we were all kids with a dream, those feelings come rushing back for everyone. After the show, Carmen, Gregg and I hit the Rainbow on the Sunset Strip for a little post show throw down... after all, it was technically Sunday. I am tired today, but I am going to my family's house to do our annual family Christmas photo. It's a big deal for me because this is the first time we have done one of these that will include my wife, Carmen, who is now an official member of our family. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and I will get those pictures up. I also have to get on Steve Isaacs about the Dragonfly clips. I apologize for the delay.
Peace and Love to you all,
Dave

Dave~ You shoot your Christmas photos in September??
Aren't you an early bird :)
I'm sure Carmen will look great with your family, she always does.
itanja~ Being crushed in the mosh pit is half the fun ;)
I did know that not all venues in the US are all seats, though, I remember Ozzfest in Sacramento (or SF or something, my memory sucks) having a mosh pit in the front. It was pretty small, though.
And you're right, general admission in a venue that rooms 20 000 does sound rather painful :p

Glad the show went great.
Post your chistmas picture for us when you get it. You feel like part of my family so I'd love to print it out and put it with my other christmas cards.
Much love,
Pony

Dave Navarro I know you get this all the time but you are the man. Everything you touch in any medium is just fantastic. You have turned so much tragedy into so much good, your messages are positive and your music is gratifying in every sense of the word. I eagerly await anything else you lend your talents too, I have no idea if he responds too posts or not but if so.
How was it playing with Scott Weiland? Hows he doing these days? I'm loving Velvet Revolver and I am hoping that Weiland proves his harshest critics wrong.

Hey Dave, hey people
Do any of you ever get so tired you just cry at the stupidest of things? I mean I'm not sad, just tearful :S
I am lacking in sleep and feeling overly emotional...I tried to buy a phone in this state and it was just TOO MUCH to handle...so I just walked out of the shop...
...Have a good day all, night night from the UK

Princess Restless....
Have you ever heard of this poem or whatever called Desiderata, (not to be confused with Desperado, though that's nice, too)?
" Many fears are borne of loneliness and fatigue "
*whispers* get some sleep......

great to hear that courtney is doing well....she is one of my absolute favorite people (haha...as are you...) and i'm glad that you seem to have respect for her as a person as well as a musician/performer. i'm so tired of hearing people throw out negativity in her direction.
should i ever have the luxury to hire talent such as yourselves for a private party, you two would definately be on the bill ;)

I love the Navarros. Any family already thinking about the winter holiday is wicked cool in my book. Hey, Dave... with or without make-up? ;)
Now... how do I get on that mailing list. ;)
I'm so glad the gig went well. I'm thrilled to know that Courtney is doing well. Some of us still remember New Wave fondly, ya know.
RicklessPrincess, only all the time. Take care of yourself, sweetie. * hugs *

haj RP,
i agree with the others. get a good long sleep and what always works for me is treat yourself with a big homemade fruitshake. mix all the fruit you like, add a little bit of honey and milk. its sweet and you get some good vitamins.

hi there! i came across you online journal through http://www.moonwashedrose.com/holemainp.htm a fan site for courtney love...
i am soooooo happy to hear she is doing alot better! I adore her talent and when she was having the hard times her talent was suffering big time! hopefully she will be touring once she feels better, it sounds like she is really on the road to recovery. *jumps up and down*

You have Christmas photos? awh, that's wonderful, adorable... just plain nice! I don't know whether that's something Brits do or not... well, my family doesn't, and my friends' families don't, and they're rather religious and whatnot, so... I'll have to look that up.
... and yay, I finally got a proper, hard-copy, with an inlet book and everything, TNO CD *grins* see, I don't know what all those media business types are going on about with the music piracy. I had TNO on a minidisc that a friend recorded for me, and I went out and bought a legal CD... I don't see what all the fuss is about to be honest.
*salutes* g'night! (:

Hey fam I was thinking back to a article i saw somewhere and I can't remember the band but the guy had a gun tattooed on each hip and the guns had angel wings?
Anyone have any idea who this might be?

You say about Camp Freddy: "What is so amazing about this band is that there has never been an ego problem with anyone."
What happened to the original bass player, though?
He was definitely the least famous musician of the bunch.
[I don't even remember his name.]
Why would he leave such a high profile gig?
And suddenly, your friend and bandmate [Chaney] takes his place?
That original bass player did seem overly protective of his turf--- not letting Duff McKagan play bass on "Paradise City." He only relented when Ron Wood demanded that Duff play bass.
So, what's the REAL reason the former bass player was booted and replace by Chaney?

Sorry about posting twice, Dave.
I feel like an asshole. [Gulp...]
Posted by: Joshua at September 26, 2004 06:44 PM
I should really do my research before posting.
The old CF bass player was Scott Ford.
Just wondering why one of the founding members of CF is no longer there.
Maybe somebody reading knows.

Dave~Just watched the video of "Go On" on Steve's site. WOW! I'm going to repeat myself here, because I wrote this in his comments already.
That was EXCELLENT. You guys rocked, and you all go together really well, the sound was original, and great song too. And all that came across on the tiny video!
You guys have a larger than life vibe going on there too! I'm so impressed!! :)
Love

I was wondering the thoughts on the new Cure album.

Hi,
Wondering if anyone else is having trouble purchasing the NYC Camp Freddy tickets online??
I went to the Ticketmaster site, found the Camp Freddy listing & clicked on the 'Find Tickets'.
On the listing page, this was the only info I found:
Internet Onsale Info
Onsale to General Public:
Wed, 09/29/04 12:00 PM
Internet Presale Info
PASSWORD PRESALE:
Start: Mon, 09/27/04 12:01 AM
End: Tue, 09/28/04 11:59 PM
Seems I need a PASSWORD to buy these tickets!!?? Even I had one, there is NO SPACE to type it in! This is just the usual insanity they put fans through, just to buy tickets.
I DID find this very....ahem... 'helpful' info at the Ticketmaster site. MORE double talk keeping tickets AWAY from the fans!
"What is an Internet Presale?
Occasionally, some events will be available to purchase over the Internet in advance of the general public onsale. These presales frequently require a password that may be distributed by the venue, artist, team, or promoter of either the event or the presale, or distributed by Ticketmaster.
Often, these passwords are distributed to exclusive members of clubs or certain other types of groups and cannot be offered to members of the public. Links may be published on the Event Information page at the time of presale. Ticketmaster charge-by-phone and Customer Service representatives usually cannot give out passwords.
If an event is scheduled for presale and we are authorized to publish so in advance, the event page may list an "Internet Presale" date in the ticket onsale information. When entering your presale password, please ensure you are entering it in the appropriate box: A presale password is not the same as your My Account password." NO KIDDING!
Excuse my ignorance about any of this, I haven't purchased tickets online for many years.
Well, if anyone in the NYC area has this 'special' password, where to type this password on the page or TWO extra tickets...ANY info would be greatly appreciated!
Please email me with any information.
If not, have a great time at the NYC CF gig! :(
thanks!
