Hi Dave!

Glad you had a blast!! Can't wait to see some footage!

Being a lover of the Wah-Wah pedal, can you suggest any tips on getting the most from it? I have one and i am struggling to get a decent sound out of it! Is there a certain way of using them to get the right sound? There's no problem when i play clean, just when i flip the distortion on it all goes wrong!

Thanks Dave!

Hi guys! Thanks for a rocking show! Yes I was one of those lucky people to watch TPC rock the Dragofly. The last song was especially powerful. I don't know the title of it (like I don't know the title to any of the songs) but it was really good (post that it online!). Also, I want to apologize to Dave for taking pictures of him while he sat and played guitar. You inspired me to continue playing guitar. I've seen you with Jane's at Coachella and at the Hollywood Bowl but I was never close enough nor with camera in hand to take a picture with someone I revere so much. To your credit, you were very sweet in allowing me to take a photograph with you. I didn't get to introduce myself, so my name is Hugo and I'm from South Central L.A.

P.S. I don't like the phrase "I'm about to doo"

Goodmorning from the East!

Mr. Navarro, I hope you don't mind, but . . .

I became very intrigued with your persona after CPS (I think I have mentioned this before). I googled a lot of sites before IWON.com sent me to this site. Now, before I found this site, I sent a letter to USA Weekend magazine for the entertainment section. I received a call last night and they are going to use my letter. I don't know how big of an article it will be, but you will be featured. It will be published in October.

Always,
me

Dave, the chops are massive. You're starting to get into BEARD territory.

Give it a trim. Enjoy the baby face, you'll miss it once you're old.

Oh, and that isn't a rip on you. It just made me remember a conversation that went on around the OLD 6767.com concerning the size of your goatee. I think you had your response posted somewhere.

You guys rock as was expected. Thank you for the great oppotunity to enjoy your music and yourselves in such an intimate way.

Thank you so much Dave, Steve, Stephen, and Chris!
What a great set!!
I will post pics as soon as I figure out how.
I just wanted to say that the girls from 6767 ROCK!! There was such kindness and support from everyone from the community, especially Blanca, Sarah, Cassandra, and, of course ABBY!!! I didn't meet many 6767 men, or maybe I did, you just didn't introduce yourselves, with the exception of Brett.
Ok, I am now officially the elder stateswoman of the group. The funniest part of the night was when Sarah asked me how old I was. I said I was old enough to be her mother, She protested vehemently, until I whispered my age in her ear...she covered her mouth in surprise and said "you ARE!!!"
cool
Anyway, where was I? oh yeah, back to DAVE!!!!
Burning Questions 1-5
1. Was that your Hummer parked out front?
2. Are those Batwings new?
3. How come you go through so many picks?
4. Where was the purple amp?
5. Is there a way you can get Perk on a lift so that we are able to see him better? I haven't seen so much passion from a drummer since....oh, well, that's another story.

More later, when I catch up on my sleep, and my hearing comes back, but for now, HUH?

Things are all well and good around here... or at least I am pretending they are.

I am so stoked the show went really well.

Ok i have question for you dave...

I was wathing the Hungry video and again saw you were using the Fernandez Ravelle guitar and then i was watching Fuse last night and saw the guy in VR using one to. How do you think that guitar compares to a Gibson or the singlecut. Being that this guitar would be of significant less cost than a singlecut or a custom I would be very interested.

Much love to those who show love to mem

Dave, Steve, Chris and Perk
Thank you so much for last nights show! You guys rocked! The set you played was simply amazing. All the songs were completly different. I was knocked out by the last song "Ashes" wow what a guitar riff! The band were right on! For all those who missed here's a sum up. Got there at 6:55 from SD. Watched people walk by and check out the Dragonfly, although nobody was standing in line. I kicked in on the corner till 7:35 when I finally noticed people were lining up. I stood in line (4th) and meet some of the nicest people in a long time (Heather, Brian, Marty & Jezzibel.) All of us talked and pondered if people where even going to show up at all around 8 o'clock. Well to a pleasant surprise people did show up and the club let everybody in. The club was rad, the vibe was just right. I walked up to the stage. Checked the set list.... 9 songs. Checked out Dave's pedal setup. Checked out Steve's rig (the purple amp rocked and the black tele looks awesome!) Stared endlessly at Dave's 5 guitars by the side of the stage. I then wished I could quit my day job and that I could be Dave's Guitar Roadie. Chatted with all of those there, had a few beers and cigs. The band came on and blew the crowd away. Steve's voice was really powerful and the dual guitar thing was moving in full gear. You could see how "into the music" they where. After the show I said my farewells. I got in my truck and headed back. I didn't even put the radio on for the ride home becuase it was that good! Thank you so much guys.... I really needed something like this!!!!!

Last night's show was yet another in a seemingly endless reasons why I need to move from the Least Coast to the Best Coast. The Dirty Souf just doesn't get shows like that.

Posted by: sirshannon at September 22, 2004 10:33 AM

Brett, right back atcha'! It was great talking to you, and I am jealous, was it the fog on my glasses, or the fog in the air, I didn't see the purple amp....
Anyways....I owe you dinner, bro', see ya at the next PANIC attack!!!

Posted by: Peachez at September 22, 2004 10:42 AM

hello people!

sorry I couldn't hook up with the ladies before the show.. I ended up staying late at work and didn't get home until 7 then had a bunch of things to take care of (one of my birds- i have 2 finches- is sick :( ) before my sister came by and we could head out.
I'm a little deaf myself.. that's what I get for being right by the speakers!
The venue is really neat, it was the first time i've been there.

the new songs are sounding great! The vocals & guitar were a little drowned out for me because when you stand up front by the speakers that's what happens. You have to stand back a bit and probably more towards the middle to hear it well. What I heard of the vocals and guitar I really liked!

The drumming I must say is AWESOME! They ALL tore it up! At this point I can't really go into detail about the songs as I've only heard them once and live with speakers blaring right by me.

Can't wait to hear a recording of the songs!

Love that hat Dave!

peace

I was awake all night, doing the checking the clock, and going, the doors are open now, they'll probably be on stage now...I wasn't planing to do that~it just happened!

Thanks everyone whose stopped by here and told us about the show. Brett, I especially enjoyed your review.

Looking forward to seeing that video, and people please pics! please!

oh, I was thinking of phoning the Dragonfly while you guys were all there last night, then I was thinking what to say, and thought maybe phoning will put the guys off, they're probably all pumped up for the show! :D
I could have phoned and maybe asked for a panic agent though, but I don't think asking for a "Jez" or "Abby' would have got a good response. :P I mean as in Jez who? I don't know people's full names. Whatever, kind wish I'd done it know without thinking....

Interesting (nice) review from someone on one of the "hater" sites...and this isn't the only one with good things to say:

"I went and was suprised on how good the band is. I feel like a traitor, but i never really like the newest version of Janes so i guess it was ok. We just walked in, no line, bulshit guest list, it was a cool vibe. Dave really is a great guy. He was so cool to everyone, hanging out with people. Dave was ripping on guitar like he should be. I was impressed by the songs, total different vibe, but really cool."

Hey Dave and Family!

Dave... Congrats to you and guys on your show! Looking forward to seeing some video...

Just wanted to check in and see what's going on. I'm on my roomie's computer right now, as I don't have mine set up yet. But the move to Chicago is now done... it was a very, very long drive due to detours in the NC mountains because of Hurricanes Frances and Ivan. I'm hoping to get my computer back online in the next few days.

Hope everyone's doing well... looking forward to the debut of Shoot and all the new video material!

Much love and respect to Dave and the Family! I'll check back in when I can...

Hi Dave & PC/CF Fans,

Glad everyone had a great time at the California gig. I was home in NYC nursing a migraine. lol

I wanted to know if anyone else is having a problem getting tickets for the CF Irving Plaza gig? For any East Coasters interested in getting the Camp Freddy tix, they might be as elusive as the PC clues!

I tried to order them over the phone through Ticketmaster, I was told they were NOT on sale yet. ????? Which I didn't quite understand as the pre-sale was September 10th ONLINE. Then I went to the Ticketmaster website, I found THIS message: THIS EVENT IS CURRENTLY OF SALE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. Guess they meant OFF Sale...

The girl on the phone was as helpful as she could be, considering the limited info she had on this event. I explained to her that the pre-sale WAS on September 10th, according to the Ticketmaster listing page online, but she said she didn't have THAT info on her 'phone order 'end! ????????

She also told me she had no info on when the Irving Plaza venue was putting the tickets on sale, as that was not Ticketmaster related.

She did say that the tickets would go on sale September 29th through the Ticketmaster 'phone order' line. Of course, that is contrary to the September 23rd sale date given by the Irving Plaza box office & the Step Up website.

Believe me, a few days WILL make a difference in getting the tickets! What are people suppossed to do if they can't get to the clubs box office to purchase these tickets??

I wonder, if by the time I try to order them online, if ANY tickets will be left. This is just plain ridiculous. I have never heard of taking tickets OFF sale.

Does anyone know what is going on with these tickets?? Dave?? Anyone?? Colleen?? Deena?? Any other East Coast fans?

Thanks!
itanja

Kia ora Family!

Congrats to Dave and Crew TPC - glad to hear it was an awesome show .. wish I could have been there but, you know, it was the finale night for "Big Brother 5" and "The Amazing Race" .. and I'd been watching it all season .. and .. I so wanted the Bowling Moms to win the million dollars .. well, that and the fact that I'm on a rockinthemiddleoftheocean, amillionfreakingmilesawayfromeverything *composes myself* ok .. I'm all better now LOL

I'm actually writing to see if anyone saw that article about Dave's book in Entertainment Weekly? I read it last night and, I don't know ..maybe it's because I'm a little protective of Dave, but it sorta pissed me off. It seemed as if they were questioning the 'truth' of the contents .. and the reasons that it was shelved for a while. I mean, come on, if any other author shelved a book to recheck the contents, would they be questioned? I don't know - like I said, maybe I'm just feeling protective but it came off to me like all they want to hear about are the drug-induced stupors and all-night parties and nothing about the waking up from the dead life and getting shit together. Did anyone else see it and get that impression?

Posted by: tiare at September 22, 2004 11:43 AM

That was a great show last night and a pleasant surprise! It is always inspiring to watch (and listen) to yourself and Steve P. collaborate so diligently. Steve's vocals and lyrics were incredible (what a find) and the bass was thick and tight. All of your positive fun energy on stage as a band made it even that much more enjoyable to absorb. Thank you all so very much!
ok ok.. I'll admit it, I did miss most of the ballad when I went to the bathroom... =)

Posted by: ylais at September 22, 2004 01:07 PM

ahh, that was before my time, Lisa, but you said it like it happened eons ago,Wasn't August JUST last month?

And Dave is there with my favorite girl...Ainsley "blame it on the bossanova" Hayes aka Emily Proctor..

Burning Question number 6, How come there is never a picture of that nasty, scabbing, bleeding, stage of tattoos?
Do you heal that quickly?
Does having them done in black and not color influence how they heal?
And, one more, maybe too personal...probably none of my business, but as an addict in recovery myself, is there a strange familiarity to the pain of the needle that makes it almost enjoyable?
Does that even make sense?

I remember a scene from the West Wing, where Leo was describing his alcoholism.. how do people just have one drink? and how he almost wistfully described the clinking of the ice in the glass.

My addiction of choice was everything, but my recovery from speed, even after 13 years, is an ongoing process. I hate myself sometimes for how much I miss it..

Hey Guys!

I am so jealous of the people who got to see the show. Luckily you all took the time to share your experiences on here so we can live vicariously through you.

Jezz- When I got my tatt there really was not much of a scabbing, more like the way skin peels after a sunburn.

Any chance of including boring old Oregon in any tour plans? Are there any other agents from here?

Steve: luv ya bud.

Great job on all the reports back, Jezzi and the TPC PaniCat girls were well represented, loud and proud!

S.E.4, thank you for sending the JA revivalists the message: We love Dave and TPC ("The Drapes"?) for who they are as artists now, and the band they are now, not who they were.

hey friends :)

i wanted to let you guys know i FINALLY caught the dave & carmen punk'd episode this morning before i left for school haha it was great. definitely got the day off to a good start! i know i sound corny, but just seeing that made me miss 'til death do us part so much. i miss you, carmen! i can't wait for the dvd. which brings me to this question/comment:

dave, it would be so cool if you & carmen did commentary for the 'til death do us part dvd, recalling the moments of the wedding and planning process; and/or noting funny or ironic moments, i.e. where you staged going off on tour!

well, hope you're all doing well. gotta get back to my writing, but i much needed a 6767 break!

xoxo

Don't be fooled...that is no 12 year old...there are some people out there who have nothing better to do than post "funny" little messages here....just ignore them! :D

congratz on the gig Dave it sounds like you had a great time, I can't wait to hear clips. I'm also glad some of the familly is starting to meet. That's so cool. Wish I could have been there but hey it's just a matter of time.

Whitepony-- I've personally never been crazy about frenandez guitars, maybe I just havn't found the right one, but if your thinking about a prs custom you should check out carvin's california carved top. for the price I'm not sure it can be beat.

Ellen, I think Dave mentioned that there is some commentary included in the DVD from He and Carmen
Particularly coming clean about a staged scene...Should be great!

Dave am I right?

all i can say after last night is..... HUH?????

well, that's not really all i can say! my gosh, it was amazing. my ears are still numb. of course the best part was being able to meet some of the 6767 girls. jezzi, you rock!! i swear, i thought... "35, tops!". it was so awesome when Steve asked who there was from 6767 and we all went nuts. it was such... validation. Abby & Cassandra, can't wait to see your pictures. and Blanca, it's so cool you got a little momento!

my night started out perfectly... i was leaving anaheim around 7, driving west on the 91, enjoying the beautiful sunset and listening to "whole lotta led" on KLOS. couldn't have been a better way to start the night. waiting in line wasn't too bad, but of course, the 30 minutes from 10 to 10:30 were the longest 30 minutes of my life!!! Dave, i wore my CF shirt and was right behind Abby & Cassandra, who were taking all the pictures. being right in front, the sound was a little distorted but the view was totally worth it!!! plus, i figure i can hear the songs more clearly as many times as i want when i get the CD.

i am so glad that i got to be there last night. for all of you who couldn't, i felt obligated since i only live about 35 miles away. i got my shirt and my stickers and plan to sport them with pride. can't wait to go pick up more stickers to spread around the CSUF campus.

thank you Dave! can't wait for the next adventure.

<3 Sarah

Not to worry Emily...I'm planning on winning the lottery so, when I do, I'll fly everyone to one place and get all of us together for a TPC show!!! ;)

BTW...Dave...where are you??? Come out, come out, wherever you are and tell us more about the show!!

Skot....have you checked out Whitepony's site???? He had that idae too! (must be that whole great minds thing...) anyway check it out www.whitepony.net and look under "project6767" ...he's got quite a few there.

OK!!! Its time for the "unveiling" I have my pictures up from the show!!! Of the 60 or so that I took, only 23 made the cut. Some were too blurry (I must've been moving) and a lot had the mic stand right in the way!!! But the ones posted may be a little blurry or have a little mic stand...but they were the least of the "offenders" lol....so have a look! (click my name below)

ABBY, that's funny, I will go chek WP's page

and uh, about my brain vs typing battle..(the fingers won....again!)
apologies, I wasn't clear with my message...
I cant post anyone's pics on my site...I'm squeezing out the last vestiges of bandwidth here... just meant in the sense of sending smiles around in the email, and/or dave posting a page for smiles
but the man!- Whiteponey has got it covered....very cool
...and away I go.

Abby and Cassandra, your pics are great, Thankyou so much for posting them.

I just have to add that absolutely NONE of the pics of Perk turned out :( ...I was trying so hard because he was AWESOME...absolutely amazing!! The whole band was and unfortuanately only that one of Chris turned out....but its a pretty awesome pic (I think)

Posted by: Abby at September 22, 2004 06:18 PM

aright back again,
was just at Whiteponey's page Abby, that was fun to have a peek- I saw you- hi!
to Abby(hi again) and Cassandra good photos thanks for posting them! yo.

and now back to Abby, thanks for the 'great minds think alike' compliment but now I will dutifully trade in that cred to Whitepony ...and change the phrase to 'great minds think ahead'(hard to avoid the 'head','mind' puns mind you) oh this has ben another 'too much coffee in the gas tank' day again...
wasnt it Jack Black in uh School of Rock that said something like, 'it is in your mind, and(where's that damn italic button when you need it!) your brain, and your head'
well, and so, anyway, I rant on dont I?
I'm out,
Skot

Thanks Cass, and Abby for the pics! Loved seeing them.
I was hoping for some Perky pics! (doesn't that sound cute?)
I had posted on his board have a great show, and I hope we get to see some pics of you.
I figured he'd be hidden though, of course being he's the drummer.
But hey, you guys were there taking the pics to share, and that's excellent.
I think Dave's guitar may have taken the limelight there, dressed in white. :D

Just curious, for last night's show what exactly was the difference between being on the guest list and going in with everyone else?

Did anyone see the transvestite dancing like crazy after the show with the blonde hair and short little skirt?

great pics guys! but where are your pics of the Steves and Chris??
we all know Dave is hot, but you cannot deny the adorableness of Steve Isaacs.
