046Thanx to Abby for the SEXY picture!

1. What was different about Carmen and the other girls that make you open your heart to her?

I don't know, really. I guess when it's the one, you know.

2. Dave, I was just wondering did you have any input on the videos for Rexall or Hungry or did somebody just pitch an idea to you.

They were both submitted ideas. Personally, I like the Hungry video.

3. Will you be doing the rounds of late night talk shows when your book comes out?

There has been talk of that, but as of now, I'm just doing signings and print. I think there is a Stern and a Carson appearance booked. Not certain though.

4. Do you think that Carmen Elektra is or will be a good mother for your child? Will your child be proud of what she did in her life?

Yes, I do. I am very proud of her.

5. Dave, I'm stuck in a rut! How do you make time for Carmen when your schedule is full, I mean I LOVE my girl but I go to school part time, work full-time, I have a band, I need to study, plus I need time to be alone to jus chill out. What is your secret?

What works for us is the fact that we both have so much going on, that we get time apart and together in quality doses. The secret, I suppose, is having direction within each of our lives.

6. Great pic w/ DLR, I love the guy but does anyone else here think his part time EMT job has to do with HMMM..... Drugs???

Actually, he is more together than I have ever seen him. I think he has really changed in a healthy and positive way.

7. Dave have you ever done a PSA on drug abuse? Or thought of doing any public speaking on the subject?

No, but the proceeds from my book go to M.A.P. The Musician's Assistance Program.

8. I bought Donovan's Sutras because I read you played on it. In the liner notes, you are credited with playing keyboards. No guitar! Fascinating.

I actually played guitar, keyboards and sang on a few songs as back-up.

9. I was just wondering if it makes you uncomfortable to watch Carmen in certain movies, such as Scary Movie when she runs through the sprinklers and gets stabbed?

No way. I absolutely love it!

10. I'm getting a Gretsch White Falcon and was wondering if you'd noodled with them before and your thoughts in general on the guitar.

I'm not familiar with it, but if it speaks to you, have at it man!

Goodnight,

Dave

Hey Dave I was wondering what brand of make up you and Carmen wear? Personally my fav. is MAC.

OMFG!!! *blushing profusely* LOL! Glad you like the pic Dave... I'm so embarrassed right now! But I'll take that compliment anyday!

I had a dream last night that I went out and got a tattoo under the one I have that was in the same lettering as yours....I may just have to go do that. For whatever reason in my dream the tat read "ain't life grand" ...don't know where that came from! But seems like a preminition to me!

Well take care all *still blushing and embarrassed*

XOXO ;)

Nice one Abby! :D

Posted by: ylais at September 3, 2004 01:55 AM

Have to agree Abby, the shirt is really great!!!!!
No need to be embarrassed......!!!!!!!!

Dave, thanks for the answer of my tattoo question. I think it was the same when i got mine done. I was totally impressed when i showed him my pic of the fairy and he only took a very short look at it and then did a wonderful job as an "artist". I totally trusted him that it would be great and indeed it is. (btw there is a pic of it on Pony's 6767 project site)
Well i won't talk about how nervous i was before and during the thing, lol........:-)

have a good day all,
love,
*~Astrid~*

Oh and I should give out a big THANK YOU to whoever submitted that artwork in the first place! ...it made a great shirt... ;)

(just to make clear that it wasn't my art...don't want to take someone else's credit for that)

Posted by: Abby at September 3, 2004 02:05 AM

Dave, now that you are drug free, how is it hanging around with people that are still using?
Did you find it helped you get drug free by staying away from the drug scene?
Do you mostly socialise with other non-users?

I've been meaning to ask about that for ages, such a deep subject though. Having a tough time condensing it into one question.
It's just that it seems to help many people to get out of the drug scene, or environment, to get clean, or just to stay away from drugs. That goes for people that are termed 'co-dependents' too it seems.
Thoughts on that?

Many thanks

Love

Abby~ Heh, you should sell those on Ebay (and I should shut up about Ebay already, one should think they paid me for the hidden advertisement :p)

Anyway, I'm going to go get my morning coffe and keep ignoring the phone...

Have a good one everyone!

Astrid, I love your tattoo. Seen it on Pony's site, and thought it was a cool one to have.

Posted by: ylais at September 3, 2004 02:17 AM

Chantelle...fellow ebay addict lol! But I wouldn't sell them, not right to profit from it...just for fun! And then I can wear it around town and be cool because I know about this thing and people will think I'm "in the know" ...lol

Posted by: Abby at September 3, 2004 02:24 AM

Dave, you HAVE to make it to Stern for sure.

Your appearance last time was awesome. And he will DEFINITELY ask you the non-safe questions that every other guy is going to ask you.

Maybe you need to challenge Artie in a rematch for Lord of the Anal Rings as well. Make it a yearly thing.

Posted by: Six7Six7 at September 3, 2004 02:25 AM

Abby... the shirt looks cool! :)

I can't find the post now, but to whoever said they liked the PanicEye artwork... Thanks! :D

Dave... Do you have a favorite brand of guitar picks and/or strings? Just something that popped into my sleep-deprived brain just now... LOL

Thanks, Dave, for your response to my "hint" about the book signing thing. I'll be watching for that schedule! :)

Speaking of sleep deprived... it's nearly 5:30AM here... I think it's time for bed. :)

Much love and respect to Dave and the Family!

Goodnight!

Peace,

Posted by: Panic Agent Nitewing at September 3, 2004 02:27 AM

When i said non-safe, i meant stern will ask the non-safe questions, and all the other guys will ask the crappy ones.

BTW, anyone else sick of hearing about Dave's time with the RHCP? It seems like the entire RHCP website is finding their way here to ask questions dave has answered a million times before. BORING.

We want dirt. Dave, only answer the interesting questions from this point forward.

Posted by: Six7Six7 at September 3, 2004 02:30 AM

Six7Six7~ Anal rings?!!! O.o slightly worrying....

Posted by: ylais at September 3, 2004 02:44 AM

Dave, you said that Flea and John Frusciante are going to be at the Ramones Anniversery thing. Are you going endevour to meet John? That would be awesome if you did! Take and post pics! :D

Posted by: Jez at September 3, 2004 03:23 AM

Abby~ You're right, if you made more of it then it wouldn't be as fun :)
I have a sweater with the Spread logo on (and a hat, now that I think of it) and I don't think I would ever make anyone a copy of it. Unique=cool. Serial produced=Boring.

Have a good one, everyone!

Mr. Navarro,

You say that you want to do another solo album in future. Do you ever come up with a riff and decide "this is specifically for my solo project" or "this is for the band"? Is the writing you do for your solo stuff more introspective and therefore harder to write?

I can't WAIT to hear that song though man...F@#$ING awesome solo!

Hey Dave, I hear you are going to be in my neck of the woods on Saturday. I would like to see your band at Speedway, but have severe case of mulletphobia! Will you be hitting any clubs after your set? Need any suggestions?

Posted by: jezebel at September 3, 2004 08:14 AM

Hi Dave, I have always wondered about the liner notes in the Triple X Janes record. it says you play guitar, bass and keyboards. which song did you play bass on?

also, Ive heard that Eric didnt actually play bass on Classic Girl. it was played by Ronnie Champagne. is this true and why does it not say so in the album credits on Ritual?

Posted by: redchrist at September 3, 2004 08:21 AM

hello david.
reguritator, the band that opened for you during the one hot minute tour in australia are recording their new album in a glass house (band in a bubble) under 24 hour TV coverage in melbourne with a three week deadline. the studio is located at federation square, and is available for public viewing. no one is allowed to enter or leave. the set up is awesome. there are speakers that shoot out the sounds from inside the sound proof studio. audience interaction occurs with the band via intercom.

check it out at www.bandinabubble.com

Dave, be a superhero and post the sbd mp3 of kashmir. is that at all possible?
i haven't seen the pic of you with dlr yet, but my first vh show was the DiverDown tour at the Cow Palace. I saw it with Alex Skolnick (Testament) as freshmen in high school; we were impressed.
What was your first VH show? Did you get to see the Fair Warning tour cause i've seen a pic of you recently with that tour shirt.
The last Chili Peppers show I saw was the One Hot Minute tour at the Cow Palace. Kicked serious booty. Thanks.

Hi Dave. Just wanted to stop by & see how you were doing. I have another neat layout up on my website that you might like, so you can check that out if you have time. Awesome new tatoos you got. Do you think there will ever come a time in your life when you'll think "Hmm...I think I have enough tatoos now. I don't think I need anymore"? Just curious. I hope everything is going well your way. Tell Carmen hello & y'all take care & have a great weekend! :o)

Dave,
When you write lyrics for a song do you write about a specific event/topic, or do you write down poetry that eventually turns into a song?

Posted by: Casey at September 3, 2004 10:10 AM

Dave-

You seem to be getting a lot of ink done lately; do you find that you tend to get more work done when certain things are happening in your life?

Also, does Carmen support all of your tattoos, or when you show her something new does se every give you the “another one?!? speech?

I personally like your choices, the don’t try this… is very cool.

Just checking in and saying hello

just also wanted to say that it seems to me carmen is a very very nice and caring person, and that people are being waaaay too critical of her. in my opinion she's lived an honest, integrity filled live. I think she and dave will make AMAZING parents. plus their child is going to be amazingly good looking...the genes from both those guys are so hot lol...the kid better be good looking.

Dave...on the 'strays' album, you're credited with piano...which songs on 'strays' did you play piano on? and thanks for answering the hair dye question...i dye my hair...a lot lol...i know if i did it myself i'd screw it up royally. no matter what color the hair...you're still the best looking guy on the planet.

i'll try and check in and post as much as possible...but being that my computer died...it'll be a little difficult. adios dudes!

Dave-What's up, seems like you have to be the busiest guy I know/well kinda/psuedo know via this web thing. Anyway, I noticed that you prefer Marshall JMC 900's. I have seen you before rock out on Bogners and a Bad Cat practice amps. Do you experiment with amps? I mean I just played thru a Bad Cat tube amp last week and man that thing just made my guitar sound like it was heaven sent. Are you into boutique amps? Do you collect any odd or unique guitar related items? By the way did you ever ask Steve about his opinion on Nathan Larson? Well I have to go the weekend is calling. Kudos to all of those who write and participate on 6767. This has to be the coolest thing I have seen in awhile. Be safe and be well everybody!-Brett

That band in a bubble sounds excellent. I'd love to see it. Thanks "period" for letting us know about it. I have yet to check out the website.
But i suppose with all this Big Brother stuff that kind of thing had to happen.
At least they have the speakers and the audience interaction though~that makes it a bit different.

hey dave please answer any one of these, both, or none if you wish.

1. After the whole thing with the Jane's break-up, are you guys still friends with Perry Farrell? By friends like talk to each other every so often and hang out adn stuff? or was the friendship scarred???

2. Also do you think that Deconstruction will ever get together and do another album?

thanks man. And you know i must say. before this site was put up and you actually took the time to answer fan questions, i used to wonder about you. i know it's wierd, but like it seemed i stopped liking you cause i didn't agree with certain things. But after this site, i was SSSOOOOO wrong. You are an awesome guy and thats just what i know of you. I don't know a lot about you, but what i do know seems pretty cool and insightful. It makes me feel good their are still caring musicians out there.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the good vibes, kind thoughts, and prayers everyone has been sending to those of us in FL. I'm in orlando, it's almost 11:00 am and the wind is starting to pick up, the first of the feeder bands should be hitting us within the next hour. There was a lot of damage in our area during charley some of which is still not fixed. If I still have power this evening I'll try to post again. goodluck to everyone down here.

And I think in a way you give people hope in many things. And even though your children aren't born yet, I'm jealous of them. I would lloovve to have parents like you and Carmen. I could see you two with... three kids or more. We'll see if I'm right when time comes. ;-) Have a good day Dave.
