Thank You
Just amazing. The amount of love here. Thank you all so much for the willingness to be a part of this thing we are doing. It is very exciting as we are doing this all ourselves (you guys and us four). Chaney is going back to Canada tomorrow so Steve and I are going to try to get some more information and content up on The Panic Channel. I am also really excited about getting the artwork page together. I have been sent so many cool logos from you all, I want to make sure they get their due time and life in cyber space. Looks like I am going to have to put my conspiracy/unsolved mystery vibe to rest. This week we should have a permanent e-mail address and a street team sign in thing. How does "The Panic Agency" sound? Want to be Panic Agents?
1. He seems to have some really cool lyric ideas. Is he writing all the lyrics or are you all contributing?
So far, Steve has been doing all the lyrics. I'm going to ask him to put some up.
2. What's a bigger rush, playing a killer show or writing a killer song during a jam session?
Two different animals. One is crack and the other is heroin, both really good but they won't eventually destroy your life.
3. Do you have a phobia...or any major fear...
I didn't answer this before because I honestly couldn't think of an answer. I guess that is a good thing. Carmen fears spiders but I won't let her kill one in the house. I capture them and take them outside.
4. Does your musical experience make you more selective, or more embracing about the music you choose to listen to?
Well, I listen to everything so I hear more music, but I am much more selective with what I choose to love.
5. There are a lot of theories on crop circles, the main being that they are done by hoaxers. Any theories yourself on that Dave?
As much as I know that many are hoaxes, I choose to believe in the phenomenon.
6. BTW Dave, when will the CF album be out?
Hey, yeah! What about that? I'll have to talk to Morrison about it. So far, it's killer, we just need to finish it up. The good news is that when it's done, a lot of it will be downloadable, as we are going home grown with it.
7. Dave, where did you buy the pants you wore in the Just Because video?
Those are done by a company called Electric Barbarella.
8. This is probably a strange one to ask, but I work for Clapton and just wondered what you thought of him as a musician/guitarist.
I think he is one of the all time greats! I really love his work in Cream.
9. And since there's talk of a show, how soon do you think it'll be before you hit the other coast?
You never know. Right now there are no plans, but I know that we want to do a lot of playing before we record. It could happen. I would love to get out there.
10. I'm already running the project 6767 bios. It would be easy for me to compile a people for a street team page.
Dude, you rule. I'll let you know when we get our stickers and shirts done.
Peace,
Dave

Hi Dave,
The CFR show this past Saturday was a real laugh fest. Is there a chance of it ever going into syndication?
I loved Carmen's A&E 'Biography'. I know why eveyone (men & women) dig her so much; she's funny, self assured in her talent, super gorgeous & did I say she's really really funny?
It's so refreshing to see a sex symbol with a great sense of humour. Carmen is super nice to her fans & comes across as 'real'.
You guys were great hosting the G-Phoria Awards. I had to watch a shortened version of the show on E!.
E! excluded the pre & post shows. Since getting my cable upgraded to digital last year, they actually took OFF the TechTV channel! All those digital channels (over 500!) & they had to eliminate that one?
I see the cable TV distribution mental midgets are very hard at work again!
Take care,
itanja

Dave,
just let me know and i will do whatever it takes.
I read in a post at mtv or something you'd like to get Josh Todd to come and sing on the CF album. What did you think of his solo album?

I didn't get to go to the Banyan show :0(
right now i'm back at work and pooped from the RHCP fanclub convention. It was the BEST weekend of my life. Anthony, flea's mom and Gail (John's mom) showed up at the House of Blues. Everyone had a blast.

Dave,
I don't kill bugs either! My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts because he hates them, but I always catch them and take them outside. Every life is precious, no matter how small or how large, and no one has the right to deny it from any living thing.

Hey Dave:
Back in the day, I got an advance copy of One Hot Minute that had a few extra songs on it (Stretch and Blender) and the track listing was a bit different. I heard that things got changed at the last minute to make the album more concise. I think I like the advance version I have better. What did you think of the original version and the released version?
Peace and good wishes,

Hey Dave,
I know you've said you wanted to see the new Metallica movie; have you seen it, and if so, what are your thoughts?
Posted by: Patrick at August 10, 2004 12:50 PM
Hey everyone! I get dibs on the name "Agent Sassy". I can't wait to represent in Boonieville of Northern Cali. Anyway, I forgot the reason why I wanted to stop by. OH, Dave I was watching HBO and caught the begining of that new show "Entourage" and I heard Jane's "Superhero" in the opening credits. I was excited. I did not watch the show, I just wanted to hear the song. I think its cool that you guys music on a show. But do you get money from the studio everytime the show comes on? Sorry, I am being a busy body. But I was just curious how that works.
PLEASE answer my question. You will make my day. You haven't done it yet, Just wanted to bring that to your attention.;)

Kyle, I love Scottish accents, they sound so cute & sexy.
Caitlin, im not scottish, but for you i will be!
you see, since being a Panic Channel agent iv become charming and flirty and suave. im living the secret agent life now, lol. being an agent has so many advantages. Caitlin, can i call you (in a scottish accent),"Miss Money Penny?" lol
thanks for all the fun and laughs!
Posted by: Kyle at August 10, 2004 01:22 PM
Dangit, if Panic Agent 007 is taken I'm taking Panic Agent 69 ;)
We Panic Agents need a plan of action. What exactly will being one involve? Passing out fliers/cds? Passing out questionairres at shows? Or maybe we can get a petition or drive going for a good cause (such as aids research, drug rehabilitation, care of disabled, feeding the homeless)?
How about being waterboy/watergirl for the band while they're on stage? ;)

Posted by: ylais at August 10, 2004 02:10 PM
I think the thing about the Panic Channel, the thing that makes it so appealing, is the fact that everyone, at one point in their lives, has been the haunted .. the outsider .. the unloved ...
smooth intro .. very catchy ..
Posted by: tiare at August 10, 2004 02:24 PM
The intro kicks ass! Dave, who gets credit for that excellent work?

I feel so bad that I haven't had a chance to partake in any of the activities here, but I've just been extremely busy. It's a long story, but please know that I love and support all of you!
Oh, and I do the same thing with spiders. I catch them and let them outside... That is, if my cat doesn't eat them first.

Hey all...back after few days.
Cool about working on the loop.
I like what you did FreAk.
I did a version with the old drumloop and basslineattemptaltered, which sounds cool.
I'll try to transfer it to this new one.
Rain I did go to Ruby Skye, but my class started too early the next day to stay.
Dave my bf calls that task the
"Spider Relocation Program"
I'm glad you do it too. so cute!

Kyle, Miss Money Penny it is ;-) Agents are undeniably suave, that's just the truth.
Hope everyone's enjoying their Tuesday - one of my coaches actually tracked me down and showed up today when I was riding to ask me why I wasn't at practice last night. It was fairly alarming, I half expected her to pull out a camera and take some shots for a tabloid. Seriously, how does she know I keep my horse there? Scary. I had to make up a more plausible excuse fo skipping, as "I didn't feel like going" makes me sound like a slacker ;-)

Thanks Whitepony for posting my bio...i feel all special now lol
and cori! red-heads rock!...i mean come on...look at shirley manson (my favorite female musician)
and i will totally be a "panic agent"...i call panic agent 6767 (ha ha...slight joke...thought it was funny lol)...i will do anything needed. anything in the long island/nyc area lol.
and a quick question for dave...being that you're from the LA music scene, do you feel there's a difference between the NYC music scene and the LA music scene in terms of music style or anything like that? or do you think it's just imagined because it's two totally different coasts? i was just wondering how LA musicians view NY musicians. thanks for your time and support...being able to give back to that via being a panic agent would be awesome!
thanks all for just being yourselves!

Hey Dave,
I am a volunteer for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and saw that you and Carmen are also involved (which is great by the way!) I am trying to raise the required $10,000 for the AIDS Walk Africa which is coming up in October. Considering the fact that I am just a regular chick who knows little to no wealthy people, it has been a struggle to get people to part with their money and I am running out of time to raise it. Just wondering if you might have any fast and fabulous fundraising ideas?

"Agent 1313" here :) whatever I can do to help, you know I'm in. Even though my site is more of a resource for the community of fans to come together, I'm in the process of slowly redirecting the focus to the Panic Channel rather than on Spread. This got me thinking. Freak, Pony, babyuni67, and any other webmasters here: How would you guys feel about collectively collaborating on a resource / promotion page that we can echo on all our sites? We've got a lot of creativity within the group and I believe that great things will emerge if we put it together. What do you think?

This is my first time posting, but long time viewer of this website. I think it (this site) is great! and Dave, you are one of my guitar gods! Thanks for making music! One question...
Have/will you ever work with Jerry Cantrell? I think it would be an interesting combination of styles.
Posted by: Maytal at August 10, 2004 06:20 PM
Panic Agent Nitewing reporting for duty... ;) Anything you need, Dave... all you gotta do is say the word. Oh yeah... I already have a collection of dark shades and a nice, long black leather trench (it's all about the leather)... so I'd say everything's all set here in NC. :D
About the spiders... as long as they leave me alone and don't surprise me by just appearing out of nowhere... we can co-exist. I have a long-standing fear of them, and I'm trying to get over that. However, some of the most common ones in my area are quite deadly to humans, and I really don't care for them in the house. I do my best to escort them outside...
Deena... I love that idea. I'm going to be switching from dialup to DSL when I move to Chicago. I'll get a huge amount of space for a website when I do that. At that point, I'll probably hook up with you and the other webmasters and see what's being mirrored, etc.
Later, Unicorn Tribe... :D
Peace,
Tim

Funny, I was going to ask about LD too.
I have (some where in this mess I call home) the original "Spread" recordings. Of course, at the time it was given to me I was told never to show anyone, but if that warning is now void, I'll hand a copy over to a computer guru to upload for this site.
Take care,

White Pony, I was checking out your website (nice job :-)) and I noticed we have the same birthday - June 28th all the way. I thought that was pretty cool. I have a twin sister, so you're actually the second person I know who has the same birthday as me - lol ;-) I liked all the bios, I'll try and put one together for you - I'll have to find the photo were I look least stupid.
On the spiders thing - I do that too. My brothe thinks it's stupid, but I don't care if they're around - just not in my house. Safely outside it best.:-) We found some snakes in our yard, and though we were too wimpy to touch them (snakes kind of scare me) we got some friends to catch them and release them by a lake. They could swim too - something that's haunetd me ever since - lol. Sweet dreams everyone.:-)

I would love to, count me in. jejeje Panic Agent, Venezuelan subdivision.
(Just so you understand, my biological father gave me in adoption to his sister)
Today I had to buy some stuff for my grandmother, I had to make 3 different trips to get what she wanted... I just hate going to her house, not because of her, but because my biological father lives there and he's just some useless drunk who cannot even live by himself -my grandmother was at my aunt's house for like 3-4 months and when she came back, the house was a mess, everything was dirty, the floor was black.. I don't even know why they left him alone in the first place given that a few years ago, he sold almost everything my grandmother had (even a very expensive coat that my mother bought in Germany which was going to be mine), for drugs a guess, and had whores in the house too and people would go there to.. you know.- He doesn't have a job, he lives there for free, he can't even buy things for my grandmother, he looks like a homeless person which is how is bedroom looks like, he didn't even give me his last name when I was born and he has like 4-6 other children... I mean... is it wrong for me to hate him the way I do? Today he gave me a candy, he touched me and it was the most horrible feeling ever, he once hugged me, he was in rehab and my mother made give him some stuff he needed and when he saw me he hugged me and I was like wtf? I didn't say anything but it was just too weird.
I have a biological father, my adoptive father (who calls every year or two) and my stepfather, who I had a fight with, he's the first man my mom has dated after her divorce which was like 12 years ago and I just met him -but they have been married for almost a year- and it's difficult for me, I was rude with him, he says he understands but first impression are the important ones, we're so different, he's british, I'm venezuelan the thing is he really cares about me, everytime I call he says "Hello my darling" in such a beatiful british accent and I never had that before and it just hit me today, yes, he's very stubborn and everything has to be perfect but he actually cares about me and I don't really know how to react. And I was thinking about that today, how out of three there's only one who's actually there and I was pissed off... I ran into someone I know and we were talking by the door and this beautiful little girl comes to me, she looked at me, smiling then she grabbed my hand and she gave a flower I smiled at her and then she ran away towards her grandmother I guess, the lady lives in my building, the point is that little girl was just playing around, with no idea of how bad my day was and how happy that gesture made me, she looked so cute and innocent, just happy.... That made me feel much better.
Anyway, sorry, I have no one to talk to about this things, I mean, I know you're not even reading this because of how busy you are and I'm new here, on top of that, who really cares? But I just had to say it... I just had to... let it out.

Adriana, I hope you feel better after writing it all, there are some really cool people here, so it's a good place to vent , or reflect or whatever you need to do....
My maternal family is totally f$%#*d up, i could tell you some weird shit. My mother was a prostitute, she doesn't even know who my father is. I am one of 5 children, and I wonder every day how I survived to grow up, get married and live a normal life...

hey fellas i came across an old simple image i had rendered some time ago and realised it'd fit with the concept of panic channel
it's kind of minimalista... but oh well
i vectorized both the spread and the TPC so i could resize them and not get pixels...
anyway Dave i hope you and perk and the rest of the guys like it
and if you don't i'll take constructive criticism from all the family =)

Wow, that must be very hard for you.
-Actually yes, it did, I feel better now. I'm going to do this a lot more often.-
I think I can understand that, I don't who my mother is, I know her name and ID, because I found my birth certificate but I don't know what she looks like (my grandmother told me that she came to her house to visit me when I was 7-8 but no one told me she was my biological mother, it's frustating to know that at some point of my life I saw her yet I don't remember), I don't know what kind of person she is and no one tells me anything, is not just that my biological father is a alcoholic, my aunt Irais killed herself, my other aunt is clinically depressed and my mother wouldn't say if she's clinically bipolar and when I asked my grandmother if her husband killed himself, she said she didn't know, that she was with my mother in Germany... How on earth could you not know if your husband hung himself?? So it's not like there's one person with psychological problems and I want to know if I could end up like that...
To some extend I can understand the whole addiction thing but he wasn't 18 when he had me, he was around 40-45.. I wasn't his first child nor his last one... There's not even picture of my grandfather and my brother (who in reality is my cousin) told me that he was some drunk/ junkie yet my grandmother told me he wasn't. I also asked my mother but she said that she did not like talking about that and that she was not going to talk about it. Where does that leave me? What if I want to know? I believe I have the right to know if my grandfather killed himself.
I don't think there's much I can do just knowing my mother's name and ID number, I just want to have access to her medical record, I want to know if there's chance I could have a heart problem in the future, if I could be diabetic, you know that type of thing.
Thank you for caring.

As you may or may not know, Ministry is touring this fall with My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. As a lifelong fan of Jane's Addiction, Ministry and My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, I always thought it interesting to know one's thoughts and opinions on the other? What's your take on a band such as the Thrill Kill Kult and their material? They are definitely one of the most diverse, versatile and original bands around. And shame on you if you've never heard of them and you've no idea who I'm talking about here! Thanks in advance for answering the question. Is this a show we might see you at? As always, take care and WE LOVE YOU Dave!

Right, I'll have Edinburgh, Scotland covered! *salutes*
Dave, I missed out on you and the JA guys playing at MTV's free garden gig in Edinburgh, my friends keep telling me how much you kicked ass! Any plans to ever come back to Scotland? Did you like it (Edinburgh)?
Panic Agent J (damn that sounds so cool!)

Hey there dave, I was wondering if you have heard the whole "libertines" situation and the state of pete doherty`s health. Just thought you could relate because he is going through the whole expierence of being a rock and roll star just like yourself.

Adriana, it seems that there are a lot of secrets in your family, and unfortunately if people won't tell you what you want to know, you have to go outside the family to find out. I've been there.
I can also tell you from experience that you may not like what you find, it might hurt you, or piss you off, but you will feel better knowing the truth. That may be why your family members won't tell you anything, they don't want to hurt you, and they don't realize it will actually help you.
good luck

I just wanted to make sure I'm on the Panic Channel show mailing list that you mentioned in yesterday's update. Thanks for putting in all this effort for your fans.
