Sunday Morning

PanicHurricaneLast night was a lot of fun. Jimmy Fallon was really funny. It was amazing to get to speak with some of you from around the world. (South Africa, Canada and the UK) Thank you for your calls and support. Looks like I'll be out next week as I will be in Vegas taping the next season of CPS. I'll be playing for Cure Autism Now, an illness that hits close to home for my family. As for all the street team movement, all I can say is that you all rule! Thank you so much. We are really looking forward to the new site. Our little community here has really become something special. I have received an e-mail that was circulated within the industry pointing people to our site as a template for what other artist sites should be. Pretty amazing. I have been receiving your art and will be posting it soon. The talent here is unbelievable.

1. Hey Dave, who are Neil Strauss?

Neil Strauss wrote the Manson book as well as the Motley Crue book and the Jenna Jameson book. He is a very talented and well known writer that has been on staff at the New York Times and Rolling Stone for many years.

2. What if he had taken you up on your offer...would you have had the nerve to follow it all the way through???

Well, if that were the case, he would have won as I would have run for the hills.

3. I'm interested to know if the lucky number 13 thing comes from 6+7...

True, among other reasons.

4. The obvious seems to be thepanicagency.com so far, but we need your opinion.

Sounds great to me!

5. Dave, do you have access to the Photoshop documents for the TPC logo?

Yes! Send me an e-mail and I will see to it that you get them.

6. How'd that collaboration with Christina happen?

She simply called up and asked if I'd be into hearing a track to possibly play on it.

7. Dave...I was wondering if you got a surprise when I got through on CFR and you heard I was all the way from south africa? did you get a fright? how did it feel?

It was really amazing to hear from you. I also just enjoy putting voices to names.

8. Did you ever used to go to club make up back in the day in LA?

Yes, I did. In fact, I think it was either Make-up or Cherry that Carmen and I went to on our first date.

9. Hey Dave I was wondering when you were coming out to Vegas.

I think the 26th to the 28th.

10. Are you still collecting names of ppl who have volunteered to be panic agents?

We haven't set up a page yet, but as far as I call tell, if you are willing, you are in.

Have a peaceful day,

DN

Hey Dave,

I assume you want me to send the email to ThePanicChannel@aol.com, so I'll do that. Thanks for your help with this. It'll help me get the website up much quicker and have it look much better.

We'll get a list of street team members going once the website is up. For now, send an email to thepanicagency@hotmail.com with your information if you want to be a street team member. That way when the site goes live it'll be there right away.

Thanks for the help, Dave.

dear dave

the developement of the community here is amazing day by day.it grows and grows.

Seems that you've an unistinguishible creative wave and you inspire creativity in many different forms as this beautiful community reveals.

i was wondering, while involved and evolved continuously in so different projects if in this period you feel like having the control of your creative situation (i mean you're proud of every way your choices are taking and so...) or it has been better in the past or in the future?
for example being a net freak like you say express a form of your personality perfectly or is one of the roles in wich you must fit?

thank you to share with us all your impressions and feelings
love
dozzo

ps. i've posted a panich channel image.the logo extruded as a confused broadcasting tower. hope to see it soon in the panic agency space!

Dave

I have asked this questions a couple of times before but I simply must know man. Do you know Keith Nelson the former guitarist of Buckcherry? Ever see him around town at gigs or know what he is up to these days. Also have you ever worked with Butch Walker former front man of Marvelous3. He is doing a lot of producing these days for different bands.

Anyway you might post that industry e-mail with important peoples names taken out if needed?

Thanks!

hey dave and everybody

sorry i couldn't take part in the chat thing.. work on a sunday.. cool to hear that some people got through on the phones! congrats kyle and sandy! that's amazing!

dave, i'm a big fan of faith no more/mr. bungle (amongst several million other bands) and i was wondering if you ever worked with mike patton or trey spruance or had any dealings with them?

and congratulations on the "this is how an artist's site should be" kudos! it is well deserved! i really find it inspiring how much you give of yourself here!

lastly - any chance you'll be in japan within the next 2 years?

i think i've exceeded my question quota there..

have a great day everybody!

Hey Dave,
I was just wondering if you'd heard the Butthole Surfers remix of Ocean Size? I think it's tres bien.

Also what do you think of the Butthole Surfers in general?

Posted by: Wilson at August 15, 2004 09:55 AM

Dave,
Last night's show was funny. I've been doing my best JF impression ever since. "And we're baaack! 8:20 on the Z!" Tell ya son... Ima bout ta dooo! Hmmm? Yeah, I think it'll catch on.

On a serious note, I have to congratulate and thank you for choosing the Cure Autism Now organization. My five and a half year old son has Autism. He was diagnosed last year and we have been getting to know about all the various ways to teach him and communicate with him. We belong to several resource services that have helped us a lot. The result is that we are getting to know our son and watch him make forward progress everyday. So, personally, thanks for taking your time to help. You mentioned that it is a personal cause for you so I guess you know how frustrating it can be to watch someone be so helpless at times. But each day brings new gifts and new accomplishments. Each one feels as special as the next. Every new word he says or task he masters becomes another blessing. Let me know if I can help with the cause in any way.
Good luck in the tourney. Don't chase hands. Don't let someone else build a hand if you've got the nuts. And stay off tilt. I find, when playing for long hours, that good green tea keeps me energized, focussed and calm. Try that...

God Bless,
Steve

Wasn't your solo project supposed to be called 'Spread: Unicorns and Rainbows'?
Why did you end up changing it?

Hi Dave, Hi everyone...
Really incredible artwork for this entry! Really really great. Who did it? Fess up! Great symbolism (intended or not)...

Sorry I missed the show...sleepy baby, etc. By the time things wind down, it's over and I've missed all the fun :)

Have a great Sunday!

Hi Dave,

Thanks for being a part of bringing Duffy and Cantrell together via CF, I saw the Cardboard Vampyres last night and those two seem to be really getting off on playing together.

I tried to call CF Radio during the show for kicks, thought you guys might dig it. As you could imagine,Les Pauls and Marshall stacks aren't exactly conducive for phone calls..

Anyway, it's nice to see CF as a springboard for those 2 guys to make music.

Thanks again!

Dave, That email is really cool. There is defently such a great vibe here. Do any other people in the industry have sites like this? Becasue I didn't think that they did, well, besides Howard Stern.

Now is probably a good time to tell you that I think it's really awsome that you are putting so much time and dedication into this site, and thusly into your fans. I have a great deal of respect for what you have done here. I remember years ago when the only way to talk with admired celbreties were to mail them letters and then many months later get a standard letter in return, that showed that they obviously hadn't read your letter. What you have done here is completely inspirational. And the way that everyone has come together is really remarkable. Thank you Dave for creating such a place and for well, for lack of a better way of saying it, for being so damn cool. And thanks to the "family" here that has definatly renewed my faith in humanity.

Aimee... I'll fess up... I did it. LOL Glad you like it (symbolism intended, btw). Now everyone sees what happens when I get bored and start playing with Photo-Paint. LOL

Dave... thank you for using my artwork! I was hoping you'd like it. :) I think you just made my week...

I'm sad to say that I got so busy packing for my move to Chicago last night, that I lost track of time. I ended up catching maybe the last half hour of CFR, which I've only missed once before. So, FreAk... I'll be watching for the link, bro. Gotta have my CFR fix for the week... ;)

I'm liking the booksigning idea. I'd certainly be there if you came to Chicago, Dave. I'd probably have to camp out to get a good spot in line, but it'd be more than worth it.

Have a great Sunday, everyone...

Peace,
Tim/Panic Agent Nitewing

I'm pleased too that you are the playing for Cure Autism Now. I taught autistic young adults for several years in NJ, and they were like family to me.

I love Faith No More too, or should I say they were brilliant. I'm still listening to them. I loved them in concert. Boo hoo. I miss them. :( You should hear me singing Midlife Crisis at the top of my voice!

I did some art, couldn't resist having a go, I'll send it later right now
I'm off to take care of some family stuff. bit worried about my nan. so see you all later.

Sandy & Kyle, you both has such beautiful accents! Loved hearing your voices. Kyle, your accent is just as cute and sexy as a Scottish one.:-)

I always miss CFR for some reason - I don't really lead an exciting life, so I don't have a good excuse. I would love to call in though - I don't have a cool sounding accent though.

you all can feel free to use those agency logos I put up yesterday for anything.

Sandy... I have those nights myself. Either I'm too tired to sleep or my brain starts cranking out song lyrics as soon as I lay down, and I have to get up and get them on paper so I don't forget. LOL Anyway... here's what usually works for me...

If you have a health food store or a grocery co-op nearby, check out the herb teas. Traditional Medicinals makes one called Easy Now... tastes good and after a cup or two, I'm off to dreamland. But it's all natural herbs so there's nothing to make you groggy the next day. Just make sure you're not allergic to any of the plants used in the tea.

Also of use is a room/pillow spray that I get at WalMart. It's in Coty's "The Healing Garden" line, and it's called "Zzztherapy". Comes in a 4 ounce aluminum pump spray. Mist a little on your pillow and/or in the room right before you hit the bed and breathe deep. ;)

I've discovered a lot of useful herbal and aromatherapy remedies since I got off the heroin. I don't care for man-made drugs now, unless it's an absolute "have to" kinda thing. Hope this helps you! :)

And that brings up a question... LOL

Dave... do you get into the whole herbal/holistic medicine/aromatherapy thing, or have you gotten around to checking it out yet? I know it was easily accessible in LA when I was living out there, so I'm thinking after all these years it's probably even more so now.

A couple more things real quick, before I have to pretend to be a plumber and work on my house...

First... Kudos Dave... and the entire 6767 Community... on this site being seen as a template. We've got a great thing going here, and I'm so very proud to be a part of it!

And second... Both the Glaser Pediatric AIDS charity and the Cure Autism Now organization are very worthy causes, and I have a personal connection to both as well. I have a very dear friend who has two autistic children, and I try to spend as much time with them as I can. We discovered a while back by accident that they both are very responsive to music, so I try to go over and play for them as much as possible. It's one of the most effective ways to communicate that we've found so far, and it just amazes me sometimes.

I'm very happy to see you helping both of these causes out like this, Dave... thank you! :D

Peace,
Tim/Panic Agent Nitewing

Posted by: Nitewing at August 15, 2004 03:22 PM

Hello Everyone! Hope you're all having a great day.

Sandy - just to throw in my 2 cents worth...I have been having insomnia quite a bit the past year...don't like sominex or that kind of stuff cause it always really leaves me groggy...my Doctor suggested I try benadryl before bed...she said you can take it indefinitely and it's not habit forming, also does not leave you groggy the next am....has been working really well for me.

Wishing you the best of luck in finding what works for you....I know it's a real bummer not to be able to shut your head down and sleep.

Quick question for you Dave. I've been reading quite a few memoirs on drug addiction and alcoholism lately, namely Dry by Augusten Burroughs and I just finished A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. I was just wondering if you've ever read either of those two or if you've read any memoirs on the topics and how you think they size up to what you experienced.

Thanks, take care guys. I have quite a bit of ideas I want to post on here a little later regarding ThePanicAgency. I'll do that in a few hours hopefully.

Dear Dave,
I believe we are twin sons of different mothers. Alas,my comment: I was rereading my journal that I kept in rehab(2 yrs.old), and I was amazed at how freakin' powerful it is, some of my poems actually made me proud of myself in a Sexton/Plath kinda way. Wondering if you kept one while you were in and if any of your songs are culled from that time? Peace&Love brother, Michael

Kyle...you sound so cute!! i love accents...maybe it's cause i'm finally fed up with my new york one (yes...it's very strong...i saw cawfee, and warrrter lol) and i add "r's" where they're not needed and remove them when i feel like it lol

i think i'm going to try and call in next sat, see if i can get my 15 seconds of fame with dave...and then you'll all hear my bad new york accent lol...and make fun of it i'm sure lol..but it's ok if you do.

i just want to say i really love this place. everyone here is so awesome. dave must be so proud to have fans who are sincere and sweet and caring (i'm assuming here lol...dave...what are your opinions on the site in general?)...you guys totally rule...and dave...just wanted to shout out and say thanks for answering my questions...made me feel all speshul.

and a quick comment on 6767...i think it's like a struggle between good and evil (6 being the number for the devil, 7 being the number for all that is heavenly and good)...i think it's kind of ironic that dave's birthdate is 6-7-67...it's kind of fitting...what's your interpretation of the whole good versus evil in the numbers of your birthdate? just rambling and trying to be all pseudo-intellectual...good evening all!

Nick Marsh from Flesh For Lulu has a solo project - Mint Condition, also featuring Miranda Sex Garden and Mediaeval Baebe front woman Katharine Blake. They are playing at the Boarderline with Butterfly Stitch on Wednesday 25th August.
16 Manette St, London W1. Music starts at 9pm
I am playing with both bands

well done Ellen. :)

Benadryl is an antihistamine, so that's why it's okay to take for sleeping. in the UK they market it as Nytol as a sleep aid.

Hello Community!
Hello, Dave!

It seems that I´m slowly coming back to life... (in case you care! lol) So I wrote some lyrics.

Oh, yeah: and I listened to CFR on Saturday it was very funny (I mean the second half of it was)... Well, the first half of the show too, if you think of it. It was like no one really had anything interesting to say and they were all getting bored very fast...LOL Still cool tho - go figure! ;O)

well, I just completed another "lyric submission" to our lil project and I think this one´s a keeper. But I´m really curious to know what YOU guys think (especially you, DAVE - please, say something? Even if its sucks, if it´s trite, if it´s a bunch of unispired platitudes...I don´t care, say it! Please?)

well, I´m also working on some ill grooves with my partner in crime Guto Araki and we shall send you something to give your sonic pleasure real soon...

Bitter Born
Slightly torn
I hear mockingbirds singing in my head
Sometimes I wish I was alive
Sometimes I wish I was dead

I ride mares of black and blue
I cut myself and kill myself
and I do it for you…

I am drowning
In my own self something
Things I’m doing to myself

Oh, whatever that means
Now I’m living of my dreams
Like a snake eating its own tail
I’m consuming my own flesh
Should my suicide fail

it’s not that I didn’t ask the doctors
for some kind of remedy
but those mockingbirds just keep on singing
they will never let me be…

Medics gave me drugs and gave me words
Yeah, things I could call myself
Schizo-something, bipolar, brain dead,
borderline crazy
fucked up in the head

But I’m still here
I’m still gone
I’m way beyond your kindness
I´m forever alone
Inside my brain
Now step a little closer
Let me show you my pain…

Swallow
Regurgitate
Slash your wrists
Repeat all your mistakes
Fail

Now on your side I see a purple rose
And my mouth is an open wound
Let us put our pains together
We will float like a feather
Away from our bones…

Let me dissolve in you
As you lose yourself in me
Forever chained to one another
Our lust will set us free

Forever chained to one another
Our lust will set us free…

Dave,

You into the Olympics? Any particular sport you like watching?

PS. made it through the hurricane here with minimal damage, but others not as lucky. I guess they didn't have the 6767 Karma on their side.

Luiz, your presence was missed!

IMO: the lyrics are pretty cool. Weird though, because I've just written a song called "Hummingbirds", and also have had the idea of the snake eating its own tail floating in my head for a while now.

Can I send you some lyrics too?

Hey Dave, hey gang!

Glad to hear that the radio station is a success Dave, it sound awesome, I'll have to sort out my radio on my computer so I can tune in. By the way, what of sort computer do you have?

I was just wondering Dave, I'm just about to move house (yeah for me!) and I was wanting to put up a huge big picture of you and Carmen in my bedroom, not to far off the picture that you guys have in one of your rooms (I can’t remember which, but I saw it in TDDUP).

Call it my piece of "art". Would that be OK? How do you feel about that kind of thing? Do you find it flattering or slightly freaky?

Also, have you come across any fans that have had a tattoo with reference to yourself or Jane's Addiction?

Sorry about all the questions!

Love to you all!
