Soul Mover
Yesterday was killer! I rolled into the studio and worked with Glenn and Chad for a while. His album is really amazing. It kind if has a harder Lenny Kravitz vibe to it. We later sat around and shared old stories. Whenever I get around Chad, it is like no time has gone by. He is as great a guy as he is a drummer. When I get the mix, I'll ask Glenn if I can post a clip of it here.
1. What exactly are you recording with them? A track for a movie/commercial? Tribute album?
It was a track for the new Glenn Hughes album called Soul Mover. Chad played drums on the whole thing and it is slamming!
2. Flea said that he wrote a lot of OHM on acoustic guitar, and that he wasn't very good at guitar. Just curious how true that statement is.
That is true with one exception, Flea is a kick ass guitarist.
3. Since you are in the studio with Chad do you think you could ask him if he has a copy of Circle of Noose cos ive been dying to hear it since you mentioned it on here a month or so ago.
Sorry, he doesn't have it. Must be one of those "lost episode" type things.
4. menioned VH recently...are you a Sammy or Dave (or Gary) guy?
DLR!!!!!!!
5. Do you feel there is a big personality difference in yourself when your sober versus on drugs?
Yeah. Fear versus faith. It'll make sense if you think about it.
6. I was just wondering if it would be all right if I used Hungry as music for my website? Just trying to get around any copyright issues.
It's all you baby!
7. Dave, would you consider having a webcam say in the studio?
Absolutely. We have already discussed it. We want you guys "in" from the ground floor.
8. I don't know if you can answer this Dave, but how much of that show is staged and how much is just Andy? Sometimes it's hard to tell. (Assistant)
Here is the thing they don't play up well enough on the show. The contestants all think it's real. That is the funny part. Everything else is totally a joke.
9. Dave, ThereIs Alot Of Gossip About Your Quote Where You Say You Are "Intouch with both your masculine and feminine sides". We Obivously Know You Like Women But On Some Chats I Hear Alot Of Rumors To This Quote..... Are You Interested In Just Women? Or More?
Well, I guess I meant that I am in touch with MY masculine and feminine sides, as for others, I am only in touch with the feminine sides!
10. what do you mean when you said " the sugar never help" in the song rexall
Nothing made the situation at the time taste any sweeter.
Love to all,
Dave

Dave - Thanks much for your accessibility. Very excited to hear TPC as it moves forward. One question and one open beg - On aintnoright.com shortly before learning of your collective work with Steve I, there were rumors of the three of you (SP, CC, DN) working with Zach (RATM). Just rumors or any truth? Please bring the Panic Channel to the heartland when you hit the road - I can't expect you to come to Des Moines, IA, but Kansas City, Omaha, Chicago, or Minneapolis would be a short road trip away! Thanks...

Do you know or ever played with local LA guy Coyote Shivers? Also ever done anything with Shifty formerly of CrazyTown? I have met him a few times & he mentioned he likes how you rip shit up.

Posted by: Giovanni9 at August 19, 2004 10:33 AM
Oh yeah the RHCP-bbs........................
I am still a member there but it's one of the worst boards regarding DN - that is true. And no mod gives a shit about people talking crap about him or OHM or whatever.I can't even count those "threads". And the banning of certain members was just a joke. So I agree, please no mod from that board on the panicagency-board. Though I guess that is not up to us to decide anyway.
Just watched "Loophole" and it sounds great,
my fave so far (well can't really tell but from the first impression...yeah thats pretty cool).
so, have a good day all

Anywho,I've been following your career since I was a wee tyke and a friends brother gave me the newly released 'Ritual...' on cassette, and I REALLY wanna be a Panic Agent.
I'm currently recording a cover of 'Mourning Son' for you to check out,it's a song I really connect with.
My question is,do you think you'll ever work with Trent Reznor?I know you like NIN,but do you think you might ever become a guest Nail?
You working with Trent or Maynard would be awesome. Thanks for the inspiration anyway Dave.

Morning Dave and Family,
Thank you to those who answered my questions about crystal meth. I appreciate your honesty and I especially appreciate the fact that you shared that information and experience not only with me, but with everyone on the board.
I want to take this opportunity to thank those who have been pulling me into MSN chat sessions. I've been 'meeting' so many different kinds of people and it's been a blast.
I do have one comment on the recent "aggressions' regarding who's moderating what board - of course, some people have strong opinions on this subject, but isn't there a way that these opinions could be said without the name-calling and negativity? Just trying to keep it positive. Every family has its problems, but dirty laundry doesn't always have to aired in that manner.
Have a good day, everyone.

Hi Dave. My father passed away in January this year. I never knew him and i was almost to do it.
He lived in other state. So my question is:
Now i am with a big doubt about my personality, because i really don´t know where some of my behavior, my atittude comes. I feel like i have hole in MY personality. How did you pass by this episode? Did you feel this same thing like me?
Thanx for the attention to us all and sorry if my
question is so intimate.
Posted by: Renato Martinez at August 19, 2004 11:33 AM
hey dave, im sure your pretty sick of RHCP related questions, thats all part of your past and its an experience you have had and moved on from...but...myself and many many john fans would love to see you and him doing a collaboration...im sure if you got in touch it would all happen..john is doing so much experimental stuff right now with many different artists and styles, your both extremely talented musicians, fuck its gotta happen my man! try and make it happen!
ohh and have you any irish heritage in you : )?
your a cool guy dave, very respectful! take care and be well!
i asked this already..i think? im not too sure where it went the first time though, sorry for repeating it twice

Glad to learn that they'll be a webcam. Yeah! I'm taking that as a Yes anyway.

I feel free to share about my drug experiences here although I want to make a point to say that they are past drug experiences and I would not recommend drugs in fact I preach against them. Ok, so since it looks like I'm the only one so far representing Oklahoma in the Panic Agency, I've come up with my name: Agent OKPanic. Also, I just randomly thought of a phrase that the band can use. How does this sound:
Get ready to panic.
I thought it sounded cool yesterday when I thought of it. What do you think Dave and friends?

Hey Dave,
Sometimes, when i pretend i'm you, i'll go on these coffee binges and say to myself "If Dave were here, he would have already had 2 or 3 double mocha lattes." And then i'll walk down the street thinking "Dave would walk into that bookstore and buy the first book he sees, because he's IMPULSIVE." And then book in hand, back on the street, i'll think "I bet Dave would offer to buy that vintage Chevy from the guy at the stoplight for 500 bucks, just on a whim," and then after the offer i'll think "boy that man sure is rude, i'm offering to buy his car and he's blowing me off! I bet Dave wouldn't hesitate for a second to shout obsenities and punch him right in his fat stupid face." And as i talk to the cops who have approached because the prick in the Chevy wants to press charges, i'll think "Dave wouldn't let these cops tell him to calm down, even if he had his hands cuffed behind his back like mine, why he'd head butt at least one of them before getting tossed in the back of the squad car." And on the way down to the station to get fingerprinted i'll think, "Dave would take the hairpin he has hidden in his back pocket and secretly unlock the handcuffs, just like Houdini, and then lying on his back on the car seat, he'd kick out the side window like THIS, with his feet, and then reach around to the front, grabbing the cop driver's face, quickly pulling it to the left and snapping his neck, just like THAT, escaping into the night and waking up the next morning, because if Dave is anything, he's PUNCUTAL." And that's a good thing to be if you're on the lamb.

The contestants do seem to take it very seriously - even when Andy's requests are pretty crazy. It's cool you got to be on the show, I can't wait to see it.
Hope everyone is doing well - things are crazy for me, back to school time takes more organization than I usually have.:-)

Been lurking here for some time, first post. First off this is an absolutely stunning community. I'm impressed with the positive vibe and the abundance of talent here. Thank you for being so accessable. I discovered (better late than never) Deconstruction through this site and love it. Iris is mezmerizing. I'm curious about your influences at the time you recorded the album. I hear a huge Killing Joke vibe in Dirge. Great stuff and totally unique sound. Thanks again for this site and your efforts. Hey Dave,
i just want to publicly declare "internet copyright" on the use of "Six7Six7". Not the way you use it, just the version with the "six" spelled out.
I've been using this name, and this email address since 1999.
So, "Six7Six7" and also "Six7" are mine. I have both registered with multiple email providers, including, yahoo, netscape, hotmail, and AOL. I just want to let that be known for any of the panic agents thinking of adding a "6" and "7" to their name.
67 or 6767 = Dave
Six7 or Six7Six7 = Joe
Oh, and conversely, i have used 6Seven6Seven as well. Not as much, but i think my unique thought to spell out the numbers should count for something.

My point?
I don't want any bandwagon jumpers biting my name.
Or are you talking about the "when i pretend i am you" speech? in that case, it was actually a letter someone wrote to Henry Rollins. i thought it would be pretty funny to replace "Henry" with "Dave" and see what the response was.

I have to say, it's really the highlight of my day checking these messages out. There's a lot of love here, and it's so great to see someone like Dave that uses his celebrity to not only help out those that need it in the form of charity, but also honestly appreciates those of us that appreciate him. Have I said all this before?
I've signed up to be an agent... normally I would have laughed and said "I'm too old for this sh*t" but given the cause and the positive energy here, I'd love to be a part of it.
So a few questions that anyone who's involved in the community may be able to answer (a.k.a. Whitepony or Freak maybe?)
What direction is the PC site going to move in? Will there be message boards over there, as well as your standard news and so on? Will there be space allowed so that Agents from different areas can post news and discussions, or should those of interested consider using their own space to accomodate this stuff?
I'm pretty excited about being part of this, so any discussion into the path we're on would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me at zombee@thezom.com or MSN me at mwheeler@proformpc.com.
By the way, I also have quite a few resources and abilities to offer too, so if anyone needs anything on this quest in the nature of web sites, graphics etc, please don't hesitate to look to me for help as well.

Family,
Thank you so much for giving me a reason to get of bed in the morning. Life is not going well for me right now and without you I am not sure where i'd be.
For those of you who don't subscribe to my blog at my site here is my post from today. It might shed some light on where I am at.
**************
As you all know life just isn't going in the direction I had planned it to. I'm a bit broken and lost.
I was listening to some eminem in my car on the way into work and some lyrics really hit me hard.
Sing for the moment
-------------------------------
That's why we, sing for these kids who don't have a thing
except for a dream and a fuckin rap magazine
Who post pin-up pictures on they walls all day long
Idolize they favorite rappers and know all they songs
Or for anyone who's ever been through shit in they lives
'Til they sit and they cry at night wishin they'd die
'Til they throw on a rap record and they sit and they vibe
We're nothin to you - but we're the fuckin shit in they eyes
That's why we, seize the moment try to freeze it and own it
Squeeze it and hold it, cause we consider these minutes golden
And maybe they'll admit it when we're gone, just let our spirits live on
through our lyrics that you hear in our songs and we can...
If you take out all the parts about rapping... and make it about the TNO album this is exactly how i feel.
Thank you everyone for being there for me and trying to comfort me in this time of turmoil and pain. I am sure i'll eventully figure out what I am feeling and write another lame ass song bout it.
I am going back to my daily grind of being a company man bitch. This used to be much more bearable when life was good when i left work.
So aslways I love you and i'll be around.

Hey Dave,
I recently noticed that the songs that ended up on Ritual were actually written before the release of Nothings Shocking. Was it always your intention to use these songs on what would become Ritual or had tensions within the band stood in the way of writing new material which you would have used instead?
