Scandalous

electragphoria4First things first. Pony, thank you for hooking up the FAQ page and the new domain. I know we are all looking forward to it. Your efforts, I sincerely applaud. Secondly, the picture. Rob K got it right. There is a moment on the Paris Hilton tape where she leans in to the camera and says, "Hi." As much as I cannot endorse Rick Soloman's blatant disregard for their relationship and total lack of respect, I must admit that, yes, I have seen the film. It is the frame in question, which I find to be just downright adorable. If I were to be manipulative and justify my action, I would say that my picture is nothing more than homage to her sweetness in a sea of misfortune. Plus, it's just funny. I suppose it is a coincidental salute to Bonnie.

1. What kind of acoustics do you prefer?

The Yamahas are pretty tight.

2. I’m wondering what is a "normal day" for you? And do you and Carmen get to spend a lot of time together? Or are you both busy a lot?

We spend most of our evenings together and weekends. A typical day consists of the gym, rehearsal and quiet time at home. Carmen works so much too, that by the time we get home, we are pretty down to stay in.

3. Have you in the past gone to a therapist or counselor on a regular basis?

Oh, yes. I think there is a picture of me in the DSM-IV.

4. How do you solve a fight between you and Carmen, and what do you do or go?

We don't really "fight" all that much, but when we have a disagreement, we focus on what "our" specific parts are in it instead of assigning blame.

5. Are you planning to come to Vegas any time soon..So I can randomly bump into you and Carmen?

I am going for some poker tournaments at the end of this month. The Rock Star one with Tommy Lee and Johnny Rzeznick and the next season of CPS.

6. Are you a Radiohead fan? If so, what's your favorite Radiohead album?

Yes, I love Kid A.

7. ¿What do you think is the sexiest part of a woman?

I honestly believe that each woman has her own thing that is most sexy. Sometimes it is her voice. Sometimes it is her intellect. Sometimes they are just smokin' and it really doesn't matter!

8. Is there a Celebrity that you admired & were nervous to meet?

Not really. I suppose I would freak out if I ever met Woody Allen.

9. Since I believe deconstruction is out of print is it legal for me to post the songs on my site?

I don't know if it is legal, but go ahead and do it. If you ever get s!@# for it, use this answer as a legal loophole to get out of it. It'll be my fault.

10. I don’t know if this has been asked before or not but: what’s your favorite Woody Allen flick?

Stardust Memories.

Have a great day...

Have a good weekend everyone! Just wanted to say I can't wait to hear some more Deconstruction - 'Iris' & 'Fire' have really whetted my appetite :)

Dave, where did you get your louis vuitton guitar strap? Was it custom made?

Posted by: Jim at August 6, 2004 09:37 AM

I better say HELLO and introduce myself. Though I am a new fan of yours Dave. I am Bruce "psycho" Horne (the "e" is silent in both first and last name, btw) hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. For the short time I have been at this site, I am just totally blown away. To think we have a rockstar and legend of the music industry at our fingertips is beyond words. Huge kudos to Dave for doing this site and for allowing us a small glimpse into his world. That in itself is truely amazing. We are certainly the most blessed group for Dave's gift. I am so overcome by this site and how it has started to influence my thinking. Dave you are truly amazing.

One quick question for Dave and I know this is Dave's site but might there ever be a chance that your wife might put in a few words ? I think that would be cool to here her words on our hero.

Thanks Dave.

OK, I am done.

OMG YAY! You wrote my name..... <3 That is even better than you saying it because I can prove that you wrote it.. ;) Well, nah you saying it would better because I adore your voice.

"I suppose it is a coincidental salute to Bonnie."

So does that mean yesterdays pic should go into the salute section of my site? I know you were probably actually making fun of me, but I can pretend that you think I am cool and no one will know.. Thats why the internet is so awesome...

Thanks for writing to us and Have a nice day!!

Ps: you'll also be going into my screenshots for saying my name... Thanks you billions, Dave!

Dave and friends,

Have you seen this site? I think it is an MTV site:

http://www.musicstation.com/rockontv/

You can search on a name, like Dave Navarro, and it will return a schedule of all of your upcoming TV appearances, the time, date, channel etc.

I see the CPS finals are on TV next week..nice.

Enjoy.

PS Is there a name for "us"? Navarrites? The Panic Children?

Posted by: Schwing at August 6, 2004 10:04 AM

Schwing! I live on that site...it's a great tool for TV-stalking your fav celebs and since i'm home for the summer and a bum (even though i do work) i like looking up all my fav celebs on that site lol.

that pic was cute that dave posted...i loooooved it.

ha ha! and dave...i've read the DSM-IV (part of my working toward a B.S. in psych). unfortunately your awesome face is not in there...it would make psych classes a hell of a lot better though (even though i do enjoy them already otherwise i wouldn't be majoring in psych lol). it's awesome that you know about it though...not a lot of people do. i wholeheartedly support EVERYONE going to therapy, even if you don't think you have a problem to work through...it benefits a lot of people.

thanks once again for being such a cool mofo!

sometimes.

I was over at CliffyB's site because I was checking out some stuff on Unreal Tournament 2004 and noticed this quote and I just thought it was cool. It was under "HIGHLIGHTS" of his trip to Gphoria.
"Talking about the old game "Phoenix" with Dave Navarro."

Following from schwings Navarrite post...
We need a name, most fans of things have a name...for example i believe chili peppers fans are branded as rockinfreakapotomus's.
So Dave...can you give your fans a name? We need branding!
Merchandise would be cool? It might even inspire me to get a new tattoo.

Posted by: Rob K at August 6, 2004 11:05 AM

you've mentioned that you liked the book "wasted" by marya hornbacher and i also hear you make a few comments during your wedding planning that pertained to food and eating. do you or have you ever had an eating disorder or body image issues (aside from what would be considered "normal" appearance consciousness for a celebrity)?

Posted by: Twisted Angel at August 6, 2004 11:29 AM

Hey Dave. Are you planning on going to the MTV VMA's this year, & if so, will you be doing anything on stage? I really loved your performance with Christina Aguilera last year. It was a big shock. That was my favorite performance though. That picture of you & Carmen is cute. I saw it on a Carmen fansite the other night (SpeakCarmenese.com). Looks like you're doing the Farmer Fran thing on "The Waterboy". LOL! Anyway, have a great weekend. Oh yeah, yours & Carmen's tatoos look really cool! ;o)

Hey Dave...

My boyfriend quit the LA band he was in over a year ago. Today, we got an e-mail from the band's former manager saying that she is suing the lead singer for assult and battery (apparently she went to the band's rehersal space to take back all of the equipment she had bought and he pushed her around and verbally assulted her :( ).

She said that the lead singer has said that my boyfriend (he was lead guitar in the band) had "taken" two Marshall stacks when he left the band over a year ago. In reality, the lead singer sold them without the band manager's knowledge and kept the $$$$$.

So now, we have to go to court on Monday and defend him from these accusations. Luckily, the former bass player for the band and the tour bus driver are also going to be there to back my boyfriend up.....

I know you have been around the music scene longer than we have so is this sort of drama typical? Should I be worried? Unfortunately the lead singer knows where we live and stuff like that... It's got me a bit nervous :(

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Posted by: caughtalitesneeze at August 6, 2004 11:56 AM

Hola. One of my doubts is:

How came to you Jane Says? Who was the first to

construct the whole song stucture? Perry or the

rest of the band? It is true that almost all of

your songs in that era were composed at the same

time?

Oh, and what is the name of that mexican

band that opened to J.A. in 1990 (or 91, don´t
remember now) at The Palladium?

Thank you so much for the attention.

Ok it looks like my site is getting more traffic for the downloads than I had expected. I am going to have to break it out into three sections availible in different chucks. As soon as i can get enough bandwidth to remote in i will be removing files 6-15. They will be available again shortly, but I am simply running out of bandwidth for the site.

Posted by: WhitePony at August 6, 2004 02:13 PM

Dave,

Thanks for answering my previous question.
I always thought that the movie RADIO DAYS, by Woody Allen, is one of the most underrated comedies in the past 20 years. It may not be ANNIE HALL but it is still a very funny movie, especially if your from NYC.
¿have you ever seen RADIO DAYS, and if so, what do you think of it?

Thanks,
Mike from NYC ♥ ♣ ♠

Posted by: Mike at August 6, 2004 02:49 PM

I was watching the rock superstar video of Camp Freddy and it looked like you were totally into it. Would have have ever done that if you hadn't met carmen. You always say she got you into hiphop, but what about the rap rock scene. Bands like cypress, rage and limp? Did you dig those?

Posted by: WhitePony at August 6, 2004 04:05 PM

Have you ever come up with a guitar part when your jamming away that you thought was really cool, only to realise it's already been done by someone else.

Posted by: mooyyaa at August 6, 2004 04:38 PM

HAHA I never knew about Paris hiltons tape(not to keen on the gossip thing), but now that i see a comparison of youre "hi" and I am guessing her "hi" you did a great job imitating it! And flipping yours to be the same direction made it even funnier. ;)

Hey Dave,

6767.com lives again! There was definitely a void in the tangled web without it. It was amazing to get to watch Spread slowly but surely evolve into TNO, and to be able to feel like we were sharing that experience with you. (and share the reward of finally having it released!!!) It's one of the reasons that I hold that album very close to my heart. Great to see new projects and new music, and to see you around again!

T

Posted by: T at August 6, 2004 05:42 PM

hey pony, you asked about the rap rock thing. let's not forget now, that dave was the guitarist for the original (well, gang of four was around before, but they really brought it mainstream) rap rock group, red hot chili peppers.

anyway, i stopped by the video rental store today and indulged myself in the music section. I rented an rhcp movie about them making blood sugar, and then the doors movie to watch again, and then i saw Gift, i jumped out of my skin and grabbed it so fast people were giving me weird looks. I watched a little of the beginning, i got to the pizza delivery scene, then my contacts started bothering me. so yeah, i'll watch the rest later.

ok, just a briefing of my day, like you care

to caughtalitesneeze:

sister...be careful...i don't know if there is any action that you or your boyfriend can make until the singer makes a first move (which hopefully he won't). if he leaves you a nasty message on your cell phone, answering machine, or drops a note on your door....save it and take it to the courthouse. at the point that he has left any kind of threatening message you can get a retraining order. it sucks sitting in court to do it...but it is worth the sanity. it happened to a close friend of mine...the singer was psycho. i hope things don't go that far but just know there is hope if it does.

and a happy weekend to all the fellow panic children/navarrites!!

Dave, where do you prefer to play, a small intimate club, a big arena, or a small intimate stage in the middle of a big arena? :) I've got to say, I love those, feel like you're hanging out in someone's living room, laid back, lighthearted acoustic jams. It's kind of nice to get to see a song naked every once in a while, you know?

Oh, and as far as the group name that Schwing mentioned... hey, I'll go with the flow, but just an idea: 174 of us "old schoolers" on the Spread list have been using the term, "The Unicorns" for years. Check the "Profiles" page of my site at: http://members.tripod.com/~tno13 for details.

Fave solos?

I love the music on the TPC site BTW. You rock, as always!
