Jacket Cover

DontTRySo the CPS finally aired. Thank you for your kind words. I found it so funny how I went from arrogant and cocky, to completely devastated in 2 short hours. Those guys were all really cool. Seth is a great player. The good news is that I get to go back and play for my charity again next season. It actually films this month. They edit the hell out of those things. The actual game is like 6-8 hours. After my "bad" fold, I went on what they call "tilt". Just completely unable to think or reason anymore. That, combined with exhaustion and hunger made for a losing combination. I have to admit, it was a lot of fun to watch back. I got SO serious about it. I'm really looking forward to next season.

I'll answer a few tonight as I have a very early day tomorrow. I'm going to miss my coffee, nicotine and 6767 time in the morning. (A random 10 at a time is my system.)

1. Is there one band that you could definitively call your "favorite"?

Not really but if I had to answer, I'd say... Old school: Led Zeppelin, New school: Nine Inch Nails

2. What song is that you're playing (studio video), is it named yet?

That one is, "She Won't Last".

3. Dave, would you consider yourself a neat freak?

Yes, definitely!

4. I remember reading a while back right before TNO came out, that you didn't want anyone to think you would be releasing a "guitar hero" album. Well, think you'll ever make a "guitar hero" album? I know you're at a good point in your life, but I need some dark, moody music from you.

A lot of the new stuff is pretty f#@!ing dark. I don't know if it is heroic, but it is very guitar heavy.

5. I've a couple of great quality bootleg RHCP gigs on cd with Dave on guitar.circa '95,'96.Is it o.k. to share these?.Don't want to get into copywrite bother.

As long as you don't charge anyone, share away...

6. Will there be more Camp Freddy radio this weekend? I'll call in and say hello and try to answer any questions :)

It's on! I think the number is 1-877-4LA-1031.

7. For example, do you have or would like to have a personal photographer?

I'm not really feeling the personal thing.

8. The book you have coming out, how did people react to being asked to come in and go into a photobooth?

Mostly really good, If they weren't into it I just had them hold something in the frame like a purse or a stuffed animal.

9. Oh yea I gotta know If that was that u wistling on cf saturday night when u was playin ur little guitar?

It was.

10. Dave... any idea when we can start hoping for a TPC tour?

Well, I'm hoping already, but I'd like to see at least a fall or winter string of club dates. We will be playing way before a record comes out so I will let you know as you can imagine!

Love,

Dave

oh btw dave... don't worry about going on tilt. It happens to the best of us. in a long game like that its really hard not to get there at least once. Any chance of a 6767 poker tourney online or something?

Celebrety poke showdown... Alas! The jester hath triumped over the nobel prince. But, thou shalt not shame rock lord, twas a nobel effort. Ye fought long, hard and very bravely. Only one question doth linger in my mind: Do you usually watch yourself on T.V. + if so, what are some common reactions?

oh, btw... yes Dave, it was very interesting.

Well... The referendum is in 2 days. Needless to say I'm scared to death.

It's lovely to get on here in the am, and see that Dave has answered a question, always enjoy reading your posts Dave. Thanks.
You are doing quite a lot for charities lately, like the poker, how do you choose a deserving charity? There are so many deserving ones! You mentioned some proceeds of your book would be given to charity, which one is it? You may have posted that somewhere, but I can't find it.
Love to all

Hey dave,

i truely enjoy reading your comments on the world day in and day out. i was wandering, did you always knew music was your thing?,or did you have another dream?. some say that dreams are meant to be dreams.to have something that keeps you going.as someone that seems to live his,how does it feel?.

Posted by: elinor at August 13, 2004 03:56 AM

Dave, 6-8 hours is insane! I would have been ready to jam two forks in my eyes after 2 or 3.

Cynthia, loved your story. Especially your Dad's reaction. Too funny! I showed my mom a pic of Dave that was in her local paper (they had TNO listed as a recommended CD) and I told her that he actually talks to us everyday on his website. She was impressed! She is cool though. On her 62nd birthday (a few months ago), one of the presents I gave her was Pink Floyd's The Wall. She loves it! Oh, and she agrees that Dave is totally hot. Haha!

WhitePony, still no luck with me getting onto your site. Sounds like other people can, so there must be something wrong on my end. It is shitting me up the wall! I will do a profile if I can ever get on there. Anyway, I'm 38.

Hey Dave! Glad I found this site. I was a little disappointed to here the news about JA, but these things happen, and I'm very appreciative of all the incredible stuff you guys gave us, and I'm looking forward to more "Dave Projects".
After watching yours and Carmen's show on the tube, my wife kept telling me how great and "real" you two seemed, and how you and I seem to be a lot alike. I'm a web designer, you're a musician, so not seeing the connection, but who am I to argue with the wife???
I couldn't believe Carmen got you that beautiful black GN... I've wanted one of those for so long, and that only made my wife smile quietly without a word when I watched you driving that thing.
So anyways, just wanted to say thanks for all you've offered to your fans since the very beginning. You're the kind of person that will be inspiring great music from new musicians for years to come. If you're ever this far into the Northeast part of the country, let me know. Drinks are on me!

Dave,

I'm really feeling the website. As a looongtime fan it is great to feel the "dave-love" on a daily basis. Like going to a gig because I can turn on the stereo and crank some JA or LZ or whatever and read what's going down and still get a small buzz on what everyone has to say. Music is such a great drug.

Like you, I had my problems and I now I am sober for nine years. I got started about the same time as you. I used to hang out at Small's back in the day and gladly hooked up with the wrong crowd. From there it was down hill fast...But I made it, thank God. When I think about all the cats that didn't make it, like Hillel, Rob Graves, Lane Staley, Andy Wood, and so many more...I'm really glad that you are not on that list.

Hey... When I feel like relapsing I CRANK One Percent or Try from Thelonious Monster and dance around or do a bunch of push-ups; Anything to help the moment pass. What do you do?

Take care,
Steve-0

"A lot of the new stuff is pretty f#@!ing dark. I don't know if it is heroic, but it is very guitar heavy."

Great question from that guy, I didn't have the b@lls to ask!!!

You could easily go belly-up Eric Clapton style and start playing singer-songwriter crap like some guitar greats do after they've established their "chops" earlier in their career. Please keep shredding brother, there is not enough lead guitar in today's music!!!!!!

Hey Adriana, thanks for keeping us posted on the whole referendum thing. Good luck with that, stay safe.

In Manson's auto-biography he said that you tried to give him head. While personally, I think that book was full of a lot of crap, which most likely includes this incident, I just thought I would clarify this with you...is it true?

Spread has been placed on my site for download on a trial basis. If the traffic I recieve becomes too much for my system to bear I will have to remove it and find a new place to store it. The offsite site storage I had found is not allowing me to upload to it.

I do want you to download it, but just wanted to let you know that if the file gets removed it was for traffic reasons and I will upload it in a new location.

And R3... get ahold of me soon your webspace will be very valuable to me if we can get it set up.

I haven't read Manson's book. Love the dude's music, but what kind of book was it? I mostly stick to the music, or in his case videos, people make, and not so much books. I know I'm going to get Dave's and Anthony Keidis' book mostly because I feel some kinship thing there.

Posted by: ylais at August 13, 2004 12:25 PM

Also I got a request to post the LA Song video from Deconstruction. I do not have this... does anyone have this that could upload it to me for posting?

Thanks in advance,

oh and Dana, I am glad you got to my site. I am guessing you have a firewall set up a home that is blocking port 8080 which is where my website is coming from.

Posted by: WhitePony at August 13, 2004 12:27 PM

Hi everyone, Hi Dave!
I posted a few days ago about my little one loving JA and Dave's music (the 2 yr old boppin' her head and tappin her feet to the "doggy song" Been Caught Stealin')...anyone have a YOUNGER fan of Dave's than 2? :)
Casey - the tat thing...take it from me, after a period of time and the older you get, your parents just ease off of things like that - they just aren't as important as they seem now. My parents completely freaked when I got mine (i'm 34 now so it's a distant memory) but now it's just something they notice and roll their eyes at. To each his/her own, you know? I'm still good with who I am. Just give it time and do what you feel is right for you and makes you feel good about yourself. The rest isn't as important.

Dave, any chance you and Carmen will have little ones? They're amazing and the love you feel for you little one can be like no other - you revert to babbling on about them on websites :), amongst other things...

peace to everyone, have a great day!

Ylais, Manson's book is a biography. It's kind of dark and twisted, but brilliant and funny at the same time. I recommend it. The analogies he comes up with are hilarious. He's one of those people that have a knack for nailing down the truth, which I love.

WhitePony, thanks, I'll check out that firewall thing. You're probably right.

Ok for anyone who requested being able to download them one at a time. Here is the link. I did not build a page for it because of some time constraints.

www.whitepony.net/media/spread/

I will also try to start the TPC street team page this weekend. Hearing Dave's earlier comments it sounds like he thought it would be a good idea to get a list going. So look for that this weekend. I will post updates.

WhitePony, you're not going to have to page through all the comments to find who volunteered, are you? That would be nuts. If you want help, let me know. Maybe everyone can email me and I can put the list together, then email you the whole list. Let us at least help where we can, k?

You guys, if Anthony wants to do that, you can just send me a blank email that says "Panic Agent" in the title and I'll add you.

Schwing... stay safe down there! I'm keeping an eye on this thing too... have a cousin and lots of friends directly in the path... not to mention, it's supposed to head back out to sea and strengthen over night, then slam into us here in NC tomorrow...

I'm feeling real bad for anyone in the path of the 15-foot storm surge they're predicting...

Kyle and Tiare... I've never seen Dave in concert either... but it'll happen... I have no doubts about that... :)

Ok... This Panic Agent needs to batten down the hatches. I'll check back in later tonight...

i, too, have a 6767 addiction. 'i've gotta fever & the only prescription is more cowbell...er dave navarro' haha (sorry i have an affinity for SNL and cheesy comedic quotes)...

i am so trying to call tomorrow to CFR! i tried last wknd from the number on the site but my phone just screeched- i didn't have the radio on or anything so i dunno what was up. anyway, let us know the best way to work it out, dave!

Your new home looks completely different than your old place; it's very bright, kind of
retro-modern & cheery. The dark, Goth vibe seems to be gone. It's definitely not as elaborately decorated with stuff as before.

The decorating style even looks a bit different than Carmens old place, where she had a beautiful Romantic Goth thing going.

Do you have one room dedicated to your old collectibles? Where is the coffin & your other items such as the beautiful crosses, the photo booth etc?

Hi Whitepony,

Thanks for putting Spread up. I downloaded the file, it intially showed up as a ZIP file which I couldn't open. I then had to use Stuff It Expander, which then converted it into separate MP3 files.

Unfortunately, 2 of the songs, (files over 6MB each) showed up as Simple Text files?? I have a MAC G4, if that helps.

Wonder if anyone else had this problem.

Hi Cori,

I emailed you the GAP clip. Did you get it?

Hi Adriana,

Glad you enjoyed the Celeb Poker shots, did you check BOTH galleries of Dave photos?

Btw, my handle is just 'itanja', NO caps! LOL

Hi Crecencia,

Photographer Justice Howard is a woman. I think the photos of Dave were taken around 1993-1995? Dave would be able to give you the exact time.

The JH bio is on this page:

take care all,

ok, Dave's on a Blockbuster commercial and a Gap commercial? I had no idea. See what happens when I don't have a television? LOL No, no, no, I'm not Amish .. Me and my kids are always out and about - we're all busy individually so when we're together, it's all about being a family.. talking .. eating .. sharing .. But Dave on two television commercials? That's enuff to make me run out and get a satellite dish LOL

Can't wait for the book.
I'm off to my bed now but my thoughts are with those who are in for the storm, please no tragic losses.
Goodnight everyone

itanja:

No, but now I have, thank you very much.

Can anyone send me the Gap Commercial?? I thought it was so funny when Dave said this:

" I got to act--I acted like I wear their jeans. I did a second one, too, and became so dead set against it that I called them and asked them not to air it. I offered to give back all the money they paid me, and they could keep the first one free. They said no. So I told them I would fill a Gap bag with syringes and go to an elementary school and sell needles to all the kids. Of course, I was totally joking. "

Hey Itanja, when you get the chance, would you mind sending me the Gap commercial as well?

Whitepony, I love your idea about a "Panic Agent Poker Showdown" online, heehee! It would be so much fun if we could all get involved in an interactive online game, be it poker or whatever.

Posted by: Deena13 at August 13, 2004 08:18 PM

Aww Yea I'm down for "panic poker showdown" when n' where..I'll be there fo sho!!!!!!!

Posted by: ceechica at August 13, 2004 09:03 PM

itanja,

The zip file was created by the winzip program for pc. It looks like the stuffit program did something to those files. You may try changing them to a .mp3 file. If not please download the individual tracks you need. I will be puting up the links shortly for the individual files.

Dave,

I just watched the rerun of the poker game. I could tell you were steaming, but i don't think your bad play was calling the allin bet it was not making a strong enough bet on the flop. But being that you are a highly skilled player I am sure you have replayed the match numerous times in your head. The "bad fold" really wasn't a big deal. If you would have checked he would would have raised you (seth is a aggressive player) and you would have laid it down then. So keep your head up.

I am off to fix up the website and hang out for a bit.

I didn't get anyone giving feedback about a good necklace anyone have any ideas?

WhitePony

to the person asking about her parents and the tattoo: omg you are bringing me back, just like someone else said, it will blow over. i raised hell when i was living under my parents roof, my god they hated me. and i must say, nice job on keeping it secret this long...

i must say i relate to dave and his reaction to the platter of money... my nipples were perking up just watching it on my couch, even though it wouldnt actually go to dave, it would be the charity, but who cares...

news on the nose piercing: ill go in some time in the next month (haha i know, im a procrastinator) it doesnt cost as much as some other stuff ive gotten done, so that wont be the problem, but i have a few concerts of my friends' to go to in the next few weeks, were there will no doubt be mosh pits, and everyone knows that a new piercing is not your best friend when moshing. i will always remember when i got my stomach pierced (i know its is SO 90's) it got torn almost all the way out at a party a week after it got done. gina was on my case lol.

ok ill stop typing now, but props to dave on CPS, i cant look smart and say something technical because i have no idea how to play (nonetheless i watched the whole show) so i will go now.

the night is still young!!

and dont forget to hit montana when youre doing your tour!! your best bet for a venue would be the brick breeden fieldhouse in bozeman for a big show, or if you want to do a smaller show, you could hit somewhere in missoula. good luck.

I wish all those in florida much luck...it's also supposed to come up my way by sunday...so hopefully that luck i sent down to florida will come with it lol...i live on the coast...so it's going to be scary lol. although i love rain, as long as it doesn't destroy stuff.

if anyone wants the gap ad...i'd be happy to send it...just click on my post name...and put "Gap ad" in the subject line...and i'll send it gladly.

good luck everyone dealing with the hurricane and just good luck to everyone else in general...everyone needs a little bit of luck in their lives!

Hope everyone in Florida is ok now that Charley's gone... Hoping it weakens before it gets here on Saturday afternoon...

Dave... I'll be listening to CFR, provided the storm doesn't knock out my power... LOL Hope you guys have a great show!

Ok... my bed's callin' my name... Night everyone!

Hey 'Family"

Dave, i was wondering if you or any of the 'Family" could give me some advise? i have the Strays CD, but i found a 'rare' Strays CD. its wrapped in a silver plastic cover and it has a bonus DVD CD with in the studio stuff or something. its the only copy iv ever seen and its selling for R300(about US $50). is it rare? as in is it worth me going out now and buying it even if im broke 4 the rest of the month? how rare is it? any advise or insight would be greatly appreciated!

stay well 'Family'
Dont do anything i wouldnt do. and if you do then name it after me!

Posted by: Kyle at August 14, 2004 04:31 AM

Kyle: um, i wouldnt pay $50 for it... as i have seen about 7 of those same cds at every store in town. Maybe missoula just has an abundant supply of rare shit, but i dont think so (man that came out sounding graceful)... i dont know if its the same one, but i think i know what youre talking about with the silver wrapping. yeah it was selling about one dollar above the other cd, and i think thats the one i got... i cant remember its been a while. might want to get someone else's opinion before turning it down though.

WhitePony:
That was me with the request for the L.A. Song video.
I finally could d/l it yesterday from so-to-speak-if-you-will.com but its really bad quality (realplayer only)
So, let me know whether you got a better version..........

have a nice weekend, Dave and all the 6767ers !

love,
*~Astrid~*

Hello Fam,

Not been around for a while as I got a stomach bug uuugh! Feeling better now tho, so I thought I would see whats been happening and wow its been busy here :)

Kyle,
The Dvd is definately worth watchin it has a wicked live version of Price I Pay on it.
I think it was a limited edition or at least thats what it says on the cover of my copy.

Dave it says somewhere (can't remember which site it was now) that you carry a little tape recorder round to tape any funky noises that you come accross, do you still do that? Is there likely to be any of these sounds on the new album?

Have a great weekend everyone,

Kirsty x

Posted by: Kirsty at August 14, 2004 05:26 AM

And Kyle I don't remember paying any different for the cd than a normal one, so I would check elsewhere for it for a cheaper price first.

Or borrow a friends thats even cheaper :)

Posted by: Kirsty at August 14, 2004 05:27 AM

Thanks for all your advise 'Family'

It pisses me off cause here in south africa its soo hard to get those sort of CD's, and when someone does sell it they decide to charge R300($50) for it. the normal Strays album cost me R159($25). so i dont know, i would really love it but the CD stores here are sooo determined to rip us off!

thanks for all your advise and help. im alil bummed and depressed now cause that seems really cheap by you guys but it costs almost an arm and a leg for me to buy here. damn! i just dont have that amount of cash. anyway...

stay well, party hard all.

thanks again

So - has anyone here decided on what software to use for the ONLINE song?

and Dave -- Where can i find an LV guitar strap?

Posted by: lostangel at August 14, 2004 06:02 AM

Kyle, sounds like the one I got at Best Buy for $9 the day it was released.

Kyle,

I would upload it for you, but I don't know how maybe one of our Wizards in the Family can work that out for us, also I'm not sure that its legal maybe Dave could help us out with that one.

An idea:

What do you guys think of creating a forum for chatting? Kind of like the Camp Freddy forum. There are free sites like that. Proboards is one that I know of. I think a message board forum is good because it eliminates the time zone factor. And it would reduce traffic here, which is obviously going to continue to grow. I really don't want Dave to get buried here. He's going to be getting busier as traffic here continues to increase. I think it would be good if he didn't have so many posts to get thru each day.

Posted by: Dana at August 14, 2004 07:19 AM

Lostangel.......the lv strap is a custom Dave's the only one in the world who has one, I was tryin' to get one for my papi, he admired it so much.......sh*t I even looked for a replica, with no luck....Dave's got that hotsh*t don't he?
Thinking of u's in Charley's path...supposed to come here sunday too......God Bless

Freak,

I love the idea of the flash map. That is something I don't know how to do. I haven't even started building the page yet. I was going to do a more simple format. Let me know what I can do to help out. Are we going to host it on my site or yours?

Forum... I will do some nosing around I think i can hook something up.

WhitePony

Posted by: whitepony at August 14, 2004 08:09 AM

Kyle, you might also want to try to go to an american site to buy it (although you'd have to pay shipping & handling) i would try Ebay.com they sell cd's wicked cheap, i dont do much bidding there, but i do know that one of my friends is an ebay queen and she gets her cds for like $9 a pop (but you also have to account for shipping, as i said).

hope this helps,
paperdove

btw, id also like to know where i can get that LV strap at, and is it sold at a reasonable price for those of us that haven't had a record go platinum : )

Posted by: paperdove at August 14, 2004 08:52 AM

oh duh, i prolly should have read the last few posts huh? nevermind about the LV strap then, lol

i admit, i am an idiot

Hey Dave,

Just got back in town from a college trip. Good fun (not really).

So I was just reading all of the updates and I have a few ideas that I think would work really well. I know a little about this stuff, so I was thinking that I'd register www.thepanicagents.com and begin to set things up there. I know someone said they could help handle getting things set up (I don't recall who, my apologies), so maybe they could help me if they want. What I figure we'll do is get a messageboard going there for the band and the street team and all and then we could get a list of the street team going and such. I think it'd be a great idea. I'll register the domain name later today and if you don't want to do that, eh, it's just 10 bucks. That and I could just have it forward to whatever you want. Where I'm going to register the domain, it has 100 email accounts attached to it for free, so each street team member could even have their own email probably. It'd work out sweet.

This could end up being really awesome and I'm just glad you're so open to us helping out, Dave.

Take care everyone.

- Brad

Oh yeah, email me if you want to help me out with the website. I'm just about to register the domain name and my friend is going to give me very good web hosting. I'll work on the messageboard tonight too, probably.
