"Hi"

dave_spread_iconHey gang, how's it going? So Pony, for some reason I have not been able to put your site as a link. I'll figure it out. Perhaps there are only 10 spaces for links on the TypePad thing. I would, however, really appreciate it if you created a FAQ page. That would really be of most valuable help and I thank you in advance, should you decide to do it.

1. So, we were wondering, what gauge are your nipple rings because that looks like a good size to aim for.

Honestly, they have been in so long, I really don't remember.

2. About your 'spread' horse theme/logo... there is an element of your soloing that whenever I hear it, I have always clearly seen wild horses running toward me, going crazy, screaming. Is there a relationship between the two?

No, not intentionally, but I like the analogy.

3. got TNO yesterday, awesome, but, 'the fuck is making those noises on Everything? sounds like baby flying monkeys on crack with the flu... *hides*

A Diamanda Galas sample.

4. Dave, what's the best guitar ever made?

There are many for different types of playing. It's all about taste. I love, Strats, Les Pauls and PRS's.

5. Hey Dave, Guitar Player or Guitar World magazine? Which do you prefer?

I don't really read those so it is hard for me to choose. Guitar Player just seems more "O.G."

6. And what's a good starting point to writing my own lyrics?

It's an old cliche but it happens to be true... "Stick with what you know."

7. ¿If you kept photographs of all of your "experiences", would you rival Gene Simmons?

I hope not, he's got 20 years on me!

8. What is the hydro-colon therapy experience like and do you think it helps?

Well, it definitely feels cleansing, but as to whether or not it helps, I'm not sure. It's worth a try if you are interested, it certainly does not hurt.

9. I am not giving up on my dream, but I dunno if this LA art school is worth the cost of a private university if the reputation isn't as grand...though I don't know what to do...I may just apply to have another option...

Try to be grateful that you have options. It should make the decision factor much easier.

10. mary kate or ashley?

Mary Kate. No question!

dave, thanks for answering my guitar question. i have a strat which i'm learning on. i love the sound. my guitar teacher keeps trying to steal it for his collection. except mine is left-handed, and he's right-handed. he still picks it up and plays it. that he does that kind of amazes me.

love your photo today. looks very cheeky.

thanks dave & everyone for their kind and inspirational words. i just have never felt like a fuck up until now, you know? i just regret doing poorly in school while focusing only on my career. i have a lot of great articles & a great reel of my film projects but i just don't want the bad grades to haunt me forever...haha but seriously, this is a confusing time & i'm going to try to make something work out. who knows. i might go back to missouri for a semester just to be in school...i just dread the thought of it! i dunno i think i may apply to the art school, again to have an option. 'i just don't know what to do with myself'....

sigh...

Dave,

I tested my url in the URL spot on your website and it wouldn't take it with the port 8080 in it.

Therefore I am looking to buy a domain.

it will be www.whitepony.net if I can get all my questions answered. I hope to have it up tonight.

Yes i am buying a domain so dave can link to my site. Thats how much i love this community.

Posted by: WhitePony at August 5, 2004 10:56 AM

Kyle,

E-mail me all the edited lyrics. I will sit down and look at them this after noon and give you some feedback.

I am digging what we are working.

so clearly you've had your share of "life experience"...probably more than most people can claim...and frankly your logic and point of view on things and how you choose to deal with them consistantly impresses me. do you currently or have you in the past gone to a therapist or counselor on a regular basis?

"Luiz, i hope that because its taken you so long to post the editting of my lyrics that you are working on a masterpiece..only kidding. take your time, no rush"

lol

masterpieces are the only ones I make, so don´t you worry, KYLE...! lol

It might take a little while for me to get back to that tho...

In fact I am sad to report to the 6767 community that I´ve been feeling very unispired lately. I´m having some problems in my family (my brother is going thru depression right now) and I´ve been drinking too much (that´s the good part - it´s so much fun to get blotto! lol )

so forgive me if I´m not 100% focused on our lil project right now... but inspiration should come back soon, hopefully!

I love you all (sentimental drunk! lol - hey but I´m sober now, I´m at work so I guess I really mean it!) ;O)

ok?

this community ROCKS!

Hi dave! Do you knos you are the most beautiful person on the world? you rock! thanks to give me the opportunity to know you better, i wish the best for you and Carmen every day I pray God for you, your marriage and your music. I also lost my mother when i was 14 years old and i miss her soo much every minute, but that suffering has made me a better, strong, independent woman i'm soo blessed because she takes care of me from where she is, we should be thankful (you, carmen and me) to have an angel which takes care of us and guide our steps.
How do you solve a fight between you and Carmen, and what do you do or go? pardon if this letter is no good I do not write english, I'm still learning.

I love you, love Carmen and this community

Hi Ylais,

The FRU show was fun, but he was mostly playing back up to Michael Rothers who also plays guitar. He sat down on a chair part of the time, being that the club was very intimate, people were talking to them from the audience and he’d answer with no mic and you could hear him. I’m glad I went because I have the Neu! album and wondered why they never came to the states, but as far as seeing FRU cut loose or anything...it didn’t happen. I think the whole thing was worked out note for note and a lot of the Neu! songs. Not a lot of improv which is what gets me off...seeing players go for it and push into the unknown; if even just in the solos. Fun night in SF though down in the tenderlion/strip club area...lots to look at.
Oh ya and one more note...we paid more for parking than the show. Go figure.
PS.I like Tintagle castle pics (always have wanted to go) I have been to Avebury & Stonhenge and I'd love to go back soon.
That lipstick pic...what a crack up.

RANDOM QUESTION: Considering you're human, what is the main thing that troubles you at this stage in your life? *(not including the Bush Administration)

BTW: I'd kill to hear Diamonda do lullabies. I have nephews and nieces to corrupt. .. that and a Mason version of "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" from Gigi.

i have purchased the www.whitpony.net domain. They say it could take up to 72 hours for it to be available. This is retarded but whatever. All they have to do is point it to my other website and cloak the address. How hard can this be. I am not asking them to any real work.

And always ... Dave this is all for you. Thank you for everything you've given me.

Hello Dave,

I was just wondering what type of films you and Carmen enjoy watching ? I've been watching alot of films by Federico Fellini and Jean-Luc Godard recently and am really enjoying them. Is there any directors you particularly like ?

Now that Jane's is no more in my mind the best band band on earth at this moment is Radiohead. I think I recall you saying that you liked Thom Yorke's voice.... are you a Radiohead fan? If so, what's your favorite Radiohead album?

i have decided to let go of my ego and realize i do have options. thanks dave for pointing that out...it's true. i just wish that schools weren't so stingy about admissions criteria...but you know, i might have a plan to get to a different school in NY...i'll keep 'yous guys' (as they say in jersey HAHA) posted if/when anything happens.

xoxo thanks for believing in me, you guys. i really have felt alone in this issue and afraid to tell the people closest to me about what i've been going through...

sorry to use this place as therapy, but it is a lot cheaper & honest :)

hey luiz, i just wanted to say hang in there. we all have things that we struggle with, whether it be alcohol, drugs, or just hating yourself, we all have one. the only thing that got me through my years of depression and drug use was believing that everything that happens is supposted to happen. not in the religious sense, but just to get me through the night, or day. ok, i think i'm starting to preach, so i'll stop here. so luiz, don't feel alone, because you certainly aren't. especially here, probably alot of us admire dave because of how he pulled himself up and is now living happily, i know i do. you'll get through it luiz, we all love you.

hang in there buddy, youre not alone,

Dave,

Thanks for answering my Gene Simmons question.
¿what do you think is the sexiest part of a woman? some say legs, butt, breast...etc. i personally think the way a woman looks at you is the sexiest part of her. the kind of look, or a leer, that tells you that she ready to tear your clothes off. ¿what do you think?

By the way- My post about offering salutes was to *anyone* here. Not just Dave ;) I dont want you guys to think i am so weirdo who thinks I am Daves best friend or anything like that.. haha. Although that WOULD be cool.. ;)

If you wonder why I am so into this salutes thing its just because I just think pictures of random strangers passing along your message is a very entertaining idea! :D

Again, just email me a request (what you want to sign to say) or a link to a salute you made for me (i dont mind what it says..) and I will be very happy to respond! :D

Ellen...i totally know where you are at right now considering i totally went through it myself and i was still in the state of ny (i was at binghamton university if you're familiar with it at all...i transferred to stony brook). but believe it or not...people are willing to listen and give help, myself included...and i hope that you do wind up being happy. I would say go back to NY only cause i love it so much. out of curiousity what school did you go to in missouri...was it Washington University at St. Louis? just curious...i know someone that goes there lol. at least the options are open to you and remember to make you happy...not what you think will make others happy.

and dave! (why do i feel so pretentious saying that) what an adorable picture! it totally proves my theory that you are one of the hottest guys ever! and carmen is just cute as a button and is one of the most beautiful women in the world. I think the appeal of carmen is that both men AND women like her and can relate to her because of her confidence but her vulnerability as well. i've always been a fan of hers...but even more so as the years go by. just a quick question...what was your opinion on carmen BEFORE a blind date with her was even set up?

thanks for being you! you are just awesome...still loving the pic.

much luck to ellen once again and i hope things pick up for you luiz! this may sound weird considering i'm a total stranger (but i don't feel like one) but i'm just a click away if anyone ever needs anything.

Hey Blondi/Emily and everyone,

(If I may interject...) It's so cool to hear that someone went to Stony Brook. I grew up (and still live) right near it. It's such a cute, quaint little town. Ever hang out at the duck pond or Avalon? So peaceful and peaceful!

I too love NY. I love LA too, at least what I saw of it when I visited. It's so hard to decide where to go and what to do with one's life. I'm 31 and still trying to figure that out. But my advice for everyone is to hang in there, and live for each moment. The big things have a way of working themselves out... (even if it does take a while...) Best of luck to all.

Hey Dave,

I create avatars for "alternative" and "adult" chat rooms and there's one chatter for whom I only use pictures of you - your look just suits his personality. Does it freak you out at all that there are people using your likeness as chatroom avatars?

If you'd like to see a few samples, here are the addresses:

http://www.geocities.com/sultry_tiare/DL/dls-sm.jpg

I know - it's ironice that his chat name is a group that has nothing to do with you LOL ...

Ellen, what school are you looking at attending in LA? A really good friend of mine went to FIDM and he had really really REALLY bad grades in high school. Luckily, they don't only look at HS transcripts; they also take your portfolio into consideration. He graduated a few years ago and now runs a very successful business. Good luck!

Hey Dave and gang, just had something to say. At least once a day someone, most of the time strangers, comes up to me and tell me I look just like you. It's either "you look like Dave Navarro of Janes Addiction.", "Hey, you look like that hot Navarro guy", "Hey, say 'hi' to Carmen for me...", "Are you Dave Navarro's little brother?" ... It never fails. I gotta say, I don't mind hearing it. Dunno if I agree, but It's kind of cool. It's a compliment. Now, for the question... I was just wondering if alot of people tell you that you look like me? haha... Thanks, dude.

"no carbs after 3pm." What do you eat for dinner, then? New fan here (God, you're sexy), from Venezuela.

I can't believe you liked Wasted too ( .. Tried to smother the wellspring of terror that rose in my chest when I thought "I'm fat". If the terror would not go down, I'd promise myself: no food tomorrow. None. That let me breathe a little easier. The punishment seemed just, seemed as if it might make things better, more organized, the calming twist of hunger in the chest might remind me that things were all right..." I think that's beautiful.

Wo0T wOoT!! Over here! :)

I just have to ask for a friend and just for the hell of it.. Well, mostly because I am a fan of his work...and I have ALWAYS been a fan of your work... and i think mixing it would Rock!

**First of all:**
http://www.fartoogone.com

(have you been there yet?)

If not then on my site
http://clik.to/1313 you can watch the movies trailor in the video section... instead of DL it from him.. :D (It should play a few seconds after you push play.)

**Second of all:**
If he made the second movie to that one, (which he more than likely will sometime)and you were in the seattle area would you ever cameo in it?

Hah there I asked... now even if you dont answer me at least I wont look like some liar to him.. ;D Super thanks!

--Bonnie

PS: I know you have a tendency of reading my Ps's so I just want to say that you kick ass.. <3

....Oh, and wouldnt it be great to make a trading community.. like we make lists of all the videos and cds photos and tapes we have, and offer trades? I remember a long time ago i was in an e-list for Janes addiction and they did stuff like that and it was really neat!

Hey everyone! who would be up for it? I got a lot of videos photos and stuff... :D

*** *I ALMOST FORGOT* ***
I have a free links forum in my site now, so feel free to add a link to any sites you like.. and if you have a bootleg listing, link that too!

Ha the ps was almost longer than the rest..

I forgot what else i wanted to say.. oh well

-- BTW --
the "fan mail" I get (some i think from people here) is great.. haha! It shal be used somewhere.. hmmmmmm.... ;)

--MAC USERS-- DOES MY SITE/VIDEOS WORK WELL WITH MACS?

Hey Dave!
I just wanted to say I think you're really awesome. The first time I ever saw you (it was an episode of FANatic on MTV) I just loved your energy. You just seem to be a genuinely nice person. I just fell in love with you and Carmen as a couple on TTDUP (I cried watching the wedding episode!). I wish you guys the best of luck. I was just wondering, how much of your music had Carmen heard before she met you, and is that normally the type of music she listens to?

Since I believe deconstruction is out of print is it legal for me to post the songs on my site? Even if it is legal and you would rather I not I will respect that. Just trying to help the people who can't find it.

btw did you find the spread video digging in the garage? I'd really hate for you to have lost that. Even if I never get to see it.

Hi Dave & Gang :)

Whitepony you have been busy:) if you need a hand with searching for the FAQ's I'm not up with all the technical stuff but I'll help how I can just let me know :)

Like the pic Dave, its very personal :)

You said in your last post "Dentist appointment" I hope it wasn't too painful.
I have had a year from hell with the dentist I have to have all my wisdom teeth removed, I had 2 taken out in April which was not pleasant and now my husband has to have his removed and we are both having them done in November his on my birthday and mine the day after, so we are going to look a right pair lol gotta laugh about it really, I'll have to take a picture of us for the family album!!

Have a good day everyone!

Hi Dave and all !

thanks for the pic, that was really a nice surprise - at what time had it been taken?

I did not have much time the last days so i am not "on top" with the development of the musical project here, anyway, i can't contribute to it (as i only ever LISTENED to music but never played or sang). The review part is a good idea though.

I know this has probably been asked a million times but when can we expect to hear some tunes from TPC, Dave? I am dying to....

have a nice weekend

Dave,

I have some dietary questions I´d like to ask you cos I know you´re an expert in the field...

Do you ever feel like "Aw, screw this diet of mine, I´m gonna eat a whole chocolate cake!" If so, what food tempts you the most? Do you have any useful tips to avoid those urges?

Also: what´s your typical menu like on a week day? What do you have for breakfast? Lunch? Dinner?

Is it true that´s it is best to eat every three hours or so to boost your metabolism and burn more fat?

I´m always struggling with my (fortunately) few extra kilos - I lose them but they always come back, like a boomerang! lol - so I´d really like to know what are your answers for those most important metaphysical questions I just asked. Your answers might really help me out.

Thank you very much!

Love from
Luiz.

PS: I don´t know if this has been asked before or not but: what´s your favorite Woody Allen flick?

Luiz and the unicorn pic, hehe that will never die.

Dave How much time and preparation goes into a typical show for you? How many people do you have helping just you?

Luiz is trying to play innocent, but we all know him better than that!

Off to the shore... woo hoo! Everyone have a great weekend.
