SCENARIO :
Dave is on the computer, he's typing to us all. Just as he is finishing up, he sees Carmen walking down the hall. Her blouse is low cut, her curves shifting with every step, and her eyes lock with Dave's.
Suddenly, Dave's pants become very tight. He flashes his ID to a teenager pushing a broom and asks for the key to the janitor's closet. The kid, quickly realizing who he is, gives him the key. Dave pulls Carmen into the closet, and ravages Carmen's body for an extended period of time.
Unfortunately, the plane is taking off while this is going on, and the happy couple is forced to get a room for the night in the hotel that ajoins the airport.
After many more rounds of what had occured earlier, Carmen falls asleep in Dave's arms. But Dave pulls the squeeze and roll, and sneaks out of the room to go play a few more hands of poker before their early flight the following morning.
When Carmen awakens, Dave is nowhere to be found. He rushes back up to the room, with flowers in hand, and pretends he got up early to surprise her.

I cannot express how exceptionally lucky I feel to have been able to spend time with you guys. The Vegas trip could not have turned out any better. All of your effort and kindness was, and will always be truly appreciated. My mother had the time of her life and that was the most important aspect of the trip to me. Life is full of crazy twist and turns and I don't know what I could do but, if there is anything I can ever do to repay the kindness, just let me know.

Posted by: blondimofo at August 31, 2004 09:03 AM
I was thinking about the sidekick thing too.
Anyway, I remember reading that you never liked the songs Walkabout, Tearjerker, and One Hot Minute. What was about them that you didn't like? I thought they were amazing. And wasn't it strange playing Walkabout live if you thought that way about it?
Also, are you a fan of The Tea Party? I thought their latest effort was a bit of a disappointment.
Hope to see you in Australia soon. Your new material sounds fantastic.

Ah now I don't feel so bad for MY lost weekend that had to end today.
Dave i'm glad that you don't have to show up to work and give excuses for being out yesterday and late today and why didn't you just ask last week for the time off????
Some people just don't understand that not everyone plans everything.
Question...Do you think the excuse "the bed was just too cozy to get out of" is a good excuse or should I lie?

Hi Dave -
When you (solo or with a band) write music, does it usually come from a jam session; naturally and unexpected, or is it that you just decide to write a song?
Thanks so much!!

My sister and I sharing a lot of books to attempt to save money - anyone here ever try that? We're hoping it works out so we can put the saved cash back into the riding fund.:-)

Got another question for you, could and would it be possible to work with Massive Attack? Whenever i hear Angel i can't help picturing a dark smokey club and you jammming to it. It's just something that totally fits.

Hi Dave,
I've always been a huge fan of Jane's Addiction & of yours, in general. I just happened to stumble upon this site & am really impressed that someone so high-profile as yourself would actually take the time to interact with your fans...makes you all the cooler in my book! =)
Anyway, I can't wait to read your book. To me you are an inspiration,- someone who's managed to pull it together & find true happiness & success, re-emerging from the darkness in spite of having been dealt harsh circumstances, at times. You truly rock.
Wishing you all the best!

hi famely
I am happy because I return to my country Dominican Republic on Friday.I hope that it won't happen to me what happened to you Dave with the plane because I am crazy about seeing my fiance again.
Dave do you know the Dominican Republic? I tell you it is super pretty.
it has pretty beaches and hotels and the people are very loving and the food is very good too. you should take Carmen down there for your aniversary.

i was reading this interview with you and some kid about one hot minute. i was first amazed by how you stayed cool about the whole thing even though this kid was saying you suck, and ruined the peppers. the other thing is i don't know why everybody has a problem with that album. it's the most artistic peppers album, maybe not a typical peppers album, but it is the most artistic.
i'm recently in college and i'm completely out of my environment. its a prepy football college and they aren't very open minded. these kids all dress in gulf shirts and kakis. how do you put up with these pricks without trading back the negative energy their giving you? they don't even know me and i'm having a hard time.

Dave - I've noticed in the past that you mention feeling guilty about eating and in a recent post you mentioned it being a "cheat night". I have to ask, did you have a weight problem at one time? I, myself, have lost 70+ pounds in the past 4 years (look what going to the gym 5-6 days a week and seeing a nutritionist can do for you!) and it's a constant struggle. So when I heard "guilt" and "cheat night" bells went off.
Love ya

Top Ten but the order changes all the time...
1.Stones. (Mick and Keith sold their souls to the devil. That's the only explanation for so many great songs. They must have...)
2. Beatles. Even for just one song...Yer Blues.
3. Juana's Addiccion. Nuff said.
4. Nirvana. Nuff said. (We miss you KC)
5. X. First four albums are so poetic and beautiful while still managing to be hardcore.
6. Thelonious Monster. Bob Forrest is such a great song writer and what a great voice. Do yourself a favor.
7. The Clash. Nuff said.
8. The Wailers. Bob Marley IS reggae.
9. Led Zeppelin. Two words... Fourth Album.
10. The Cramps. This is what rock and roll should sound like. Tribal jungle beats, surf/garage style guitars and psychadelic vocals/lyrics. The early stuff still holds up.
Tie for 11...The Who, Otis Redding, Guns and Roses, Stevie Ray, Cream, Jimi, Pistols, Ramones, Queen, Kiss, Doors, RHCP, U2...I love it all. Too hard to choose just a few.
Nite all.

Welcome Back Dave,
Quick tattoo question; are you familiar at all w/ Judy Parker's work of Pacific Tattoo, San Diego? I've gotten in touch w/ her in a roundabout way while at the same time learning that she's very well known and respected in the tattoo industry. Anyway, I thought I'd ask someone like yourself who might of heard of the name (artist), especially where she's in CA.
Thanks,

I taped it too on "Audio recorder" in case anyone was interested~but it sounds okay, just I had to try to keep my mouth shut through it.

One thing that really pisses me off when you get stuck into a cliche. Sure i'm not goth and i don't dress in fishnets and combat boots but hey i still love Nine Inch Nails, Marylin Manson and KoRn. And with that said i love Hip Hop, i love new britany spears stuff! I love dave naavarro! I love Led Zeppelin! I wear brand name stuff! I wear bright colours! somebody mentioned Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz with Stevie Wonder and that they did Higher Ground...
All I have to say is that nothing beats the original.
As far as covers of Higher Ground go, nobody does it like the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Anyone ever heard their Higher Ground Daddy-O Mix? The part that goes "Except this message as a gift of grace, the next thing you'll get is a face full of bass.." and Flea tears it up... that kills me every time. You just have to get up and dance.

dave, sorry for asking again man but...
i'm doing this book and it's turning out really well, i have submitted it and have almost been offered a valid deal to publish upon completion, i wouldn't waste your time unless i thought you'd enjoy reading what i have, just for kicks. it's about a life with ocd, a controlling disease among many other things. it's cool though cause it's written from a hip, dark, and humorous point of view because finding humor in the darkest of times makes healing a little easier. if you're into just a few pages let me know where to email it to... thanks darin

dave... it's Brent here (Music Sup. on Til Death). Just accidently stumbled across your site here and it's very cool. I noticed that a few people have asked about the DVD of the series and we have been working away at it. It IS scheduled for January now (no exact release date yet) but MTV peeps in New York were trying to get it done for the holidays (not sure what happened). There are some cool extras on the DVD like a segment on the "Making of the Main Titles"(which were designed by my brother) and another extra sequence that is fun. We had to replace much of the underscore music used in the series and it was a lot of work to make sure that it was good and not some junk from a bad music library. Anyway, it's looking really good and I am looking forward to a copy of the finished product as well. I hope you and Car are well. Peace.

hey dave... I was just watching an episode of Wild On and they featured a segment on Dollhouse "night" at Studio 54 in Las Vegas. Apparently it's a night where the customers can (literally) dress up the girls any way they want before they hit the stage (nurse, construction worker, etc). It sounds like a fun time and I was wondering if you and Carmen ever hit that place on any of your visits to the sin city?
Keep up the great work. This site is truly ground breaking...
