CFR Saturday
So, yes, tonight is more Camp Freddy Radio on Indie 103.1. I don't know if we have a guest or not, but it will be fun. Question. Do you guys like all the talking or should we play more music? We have started kind of a half baked talk show on the air, but we wonder if people would rather hear more music and less yapping. Should we find a happier medium? It is Donovan's birthday so if you call in, be sure to wish him a happy one. Steve and I are going to get together tomorrow and figure out some kind of game plan for The Agency. We really appreciate all your enthusiasm. Please keep the art coming, the e-mail is ThePanicChannel@aol.com. I will update the artwork page soon enough. As for the experiment. I don't know how to advise. Whatever works. I'm sure something will eventually come of it. If not, we can scrap it and start over on a dedicated program like Pro-Tools or Garage Band.
1. Do you usually watch yourself on TV + if so, what are some common reactions?
Normally I don't like to, but this was a situation where I was dying to finally see what cards the other players were holding.
2. You mentioned some proceeds of your book would be given to charity, which one is it?
They will go towards the funding of hospitals and institutions for drug addiction.
3. In Manson's autobiography he said that you tried to give him head. While personally, I think that book was full of a lot of crap, which most likely includes this incident, I just thought I would clarify this with you...is it true?
Ha! The truth is that I was trying to "out-shock" the king of shock. You know what? I win!!!! He totally freaked out. It was hilarious. Navarro-1 Manson-0
4. I was wondering...what led you to do the gap ad?
Back then, they were doing this whole thing with musicians. They had me, Rollins, Aerosmith, etc... I guess it just seemed different and fun. It was.
5. What keeps you grounded?
I try to live my life with humility, love and acceptance... Doesn't always work, but I try. Thank you.
6. Do you have one room dedicated to your old collectibles? Where is the coffin & your other items such as the beautiful crosses, the photo booth etc?
A lot of the art is up, but the majority of things are either in the garage, storage or sold. It was just time for a new vibe. We wanted our house to feel like a hotel. The living room is kind of like the lobby. The intention is to feel like we are on vacation all the time. We do.
7. I'm loving the book cover. You think you might sell some autographed copies to some of the loyal of 6767?
Nice idea. How about I just give some away or have some kind of game where you can win them. Perhaps I can give them away on the air.
8. Dave it says somewhere (can't remember which site it was now) that you carry a little tape recorder round to tape any funky noises that you come across, do you still do that? Is there likely to be any of these sounds on the new album?
That's right I did used to do that! Thank you for the reminder. I'll have to start that up again.
9. I would upload it for you, but I don't know how maybe one of our Wizards in the Family can work that out for us, also I'm not sure that its legal...
I'm all for the sharing people.
10. As it being Friday the 13th bad things are meant to happen. I think of it being a good luck day myself. Are you superstitious at all?
Actually, 13 is my lucky number.
Peace,
DN

GOLDEN!
I was wondering if you were interested in an actual bootleg commnunity developing off your site.. if so, would you trade with us.. perhaps getting a PO box for us to trade with and maybe even write to ;)
Posted by: Bonnie at August 14, 2004 12:14 PM
i forgot to say, that there would be no money involved.. just straight across trades.. I could make a forum for posting collections.. including pictures, video, audio, autographs, etc.

Ah,almost the first up.
Excellent idea Bonnie I hope that gets the go ahead, maybe some stuff thats not available anymore too, like B-sides and things that have appeared on soundtracks and tribute albums.
Almost forgot,Hi everyone.

Dave
Made it through the hurricane here in florida with no problems thank god. Our county wasnt hit hard at all.
Cool idea about giving some autographed copies of the book away on the air but why not sell the book here on 6767 autographed. Its like a added perk if you buy it right from this site. Either way I have been waiting for this book for quite some time now so it will not doubt be on my coffee table along with Hotel Lachapelle.

Oh Dave honey you all have such great voices, I could listen to you talk all day! and Billy's accent is just splendid! I love it when you guys chat with guests and give stuff away. And you know I love to hear music. You guys play great stuff.
What I would like to hear played though, is Camp Freddy music!
I would just go by your mood. If you don't feel like talking to people, play more music. If you feel more social, chat away!
happy Saturday to all!
I am a very happy girl, i got tickets to the Ramones 30th Anniversary bash!! :)))

Dave,
I remember you talking about how you love your Kraft mac and cheese, but you also like to stay in good health, so here is a tip I found online to make it healthier. Instead of using butter and milk, as the directions suggest, use 1/2 cup of cream or half and half. That has 1/3 fewer grams of fat than the regular way. Just some food for thought!
Posted by: americanzer0 at August 14, 2004 12:50 PM
Since you don't eat carbs after 3 pm (as you said so in here before), what do you eat for dinner?

THIS IS IMPORTANT REGARDING THE STREET TEAM WEBSITE!
http://ju7ienjcxnet.free.fr/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=60#60
Please visit that site and make a post saying whether you would rather have ThePanicAgency.com or ThePanicAgents.com for the street team website! I want you guys to get involved in this since you'll hopefully be street team members. It takes two seconds. Thanks guys! I'll get the name tonight! FreAk has agreed to help me out with this, so it'll work great.

yeah, somebody should record CFR or something. I live in LA and I can't get the station on my radio for some reason so I have to listen online with the delay.
Is it not 103.1 FM? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or maybe I just don't get that signal in my building?
Posted by: Mortisha8 at August 14, 2004 01:51 PM
while you guys do always play the absolute best music on CFR, i actually find the chatting much more entertaining. you guys are a bloody riot!

Dave - I agree with the others...CFR is very, very entertaining so, just go with what feels right. I love to hear you guys talk, jam, tell stories, jokes, pranks, whatever so, if you're feeling it, do it!!!

Dave... I have to agree... last Saturday's show was the bomb! At least, up until my computer crashed... LOL
I love hearing the stories and jokes you guys tell, the guests are really cool, and the acoustic CF jams are awesome! :D Just keep doing what you're doing, 'cause it's definitely working!
As for Charley... ended up dodging the bullet on that one... most of it stayed east of me, so just some heavy rain and a little wind... but everything's calm now... :)

Dave,i've come across a longer version of True Nature than is on Stray's,it has a much longer ending to it,kind of slow's down and gets mellow, what made you drop that bit? i really like it.

Hee, hee I love that. Yeah it would be interesting to know what you would have done had he agreed. About CF Radio I agree with the rest the format you have is great. I love the talking, it's funny as hell.
About Indie are they ever going to extend their broadcast area? I live in the ghetto a.k.a. El Monte and the reception keeps going on and off. It’s extremely frustrating.

Hi Dave,
I am just wondering about the books design.
As a graphic designer, I was interested to know if the layout had changed? The cover looks the same, save for some type changes & added graphics.
I have the original page comps, which Bau-Da Design had posted when the book was initially going to come out. They were deleted from their website when the book was halted.
I really loved the original layouts because they worked so well with the 'dark' vibe of your writings. I hope the inside graphics haven't changed & that Bau-Da (and you) have actually added more design elements!
take care,
itanja

hey dave and the gang,
long time fan, first time poster. im really glad to see the site back up. i just happened to run across it about a month ago. great vibe here.
something that i have wondered about since seeing 'til death do us part is that in your song rexall you sing "i hate my life, i hate my life. never want another wife".
what did carmen think of that the first time she heard it? obviously you dont feel that way now, so will you ever write a song about your feelings for carmen?

Ok guys, www.thepanicagency.com is going to be the street team's home! I just registered it for a year and I'm working on the hosting right now. I know a guy.
Once I get the space, I'll start putting the messageboard and such up.
Posted by: BradK at August 14, 2004 06:23 PM
I should add, it will be the home provided Dave is okay with it. Hopefully I didn't just waste 10 bucks, heh, but whatever, it's all in good fun. Dave, just let me know if I can go forward with it. If all is cool, I can work on getting you set up as an Admin at the messageboard if you'd like. I've talked to FreAk about this and he and I can Admin, but we figure that it'd be good for you to have Admin priviledges. Then you can make topics and sticky them (have them stay at the top of the forum) if you want to make announcements or whatever.
Take care guys. This is going to be great!

Posted by: Michael at August 14, 2004 09:18 PM
In response to the radio show question: The talk aspect makes it a really fun show, and I vote to stick with it.
Regarding trades: I have my tradelist up online if there are any other traders around. I'm especially looking for the 7/23/04 NJ Lolla DVD. Trading got crazy for a while there so I cut down to just DVD/VHS for a while, but if anyone out there has something that I don't, I'm game! My list is at: http://members.tripod.com/~tno13/tradelists.html
As far as art, I've got to get around to contributing something to this rapidly growing sea of logo awesomeness...until then, I can contribute other Dave related art that I've done at http://members.tripod.com/~tno13/artgallery.html
Wishing you all the sweetest dreams,
Deena

Okay, the hosting will be up around Thursday. Dave, do you have access to the Photoshop documents for the TPC logo? I may need to use them in designing the street team website. Or if you could get them that'd be great. I'll start work on a layout tomorrow.
Goodnight everyone!

Kyle got on CFR tonight? fuckin' rad! how'd that go? what was said...not living in LA sucks lol...and i can't stream the radio show via online for some reason...lol...so i hope that whole petition to archive the show works. lol...so far i've just been reading comments from people on the site to get my fix.
Dave...MTV2 ran the VMA's again this year, and i saw your performance with Christina Aguilera. you looked awesome by the way. it happens to be one of my favorite collaborations you've ever done (i just LOVE the message of the song) and i think it's just a great song. How'd that collaboration with Christina happen? did she approach you? i'm just curious..cause it's such an awesome song in my opinion lol.

Well its has been a very strange day for me. Had a very competitive day at the golf course which ended up being a contest to see who was the most sober. We ended up winning just barely.
And now I am totally sober and decided to get my poker chops working again. Sat in on a 10+1 (11 dollar buy in) tournemnt in online poker. Made a bad all in call and finshed 5th (not in the money) I felt like I was playing well so I got into another. An hour later I walked away the winner... measly 50 bucks, but hey thats the kinda stakes I can play.
I am excited to see the street team stuff moving, but I really think we need to get some stuff from dave on how we should do this. It seems we have alot of good idea i just want to make sure we are going in the right direction. Please don't get me wrong I love what we are doing. Just want to make sure we get some centralized organization. And well since this is for Dave's band I think it should come from him. Please let me know what I can do to help.
Goodnite all.

Cool Cori! Glad you had fun :) I've always wanted to see Van Halen live.
I'm thinking about going to see Doheny next weekend. my friend wants me to come down to San Diego to see the Foo Fighters at the end of this month as well.. Too many darn good musicians to keep up with! I'm also low on money so I'd rather save the money for the Ramone's anniversary and any Camp Freddy shows coming up in the area.
and yeah, Dave said he was going to hook up with Steve and figure out a game plan for the agency.
goodnight all!

Good one, outshocking Marilyn! It's all about attitude, okay, it's damn clever as well. Made me laugh too.
For anyone on mac, I found a neat little application called "Audio Recorder" in the most popular on Version Tracker website, downloaded it, and it's quite good being able to record spontaneously on your mac to mp3 or AIFF. A small fight broke out here over who gets to us it though, so be forewarned. Those were adults too!
I just woke up, so thanks Dave for making me laugh. Off for tea. Love to all Lisa xxxx

hey hey lovahs-
how goes it? i completely lost track of time & forgot to call in to cfr :( d'oh. someday i'll make it on! hope all is going well. i must have missed the post but what is manson's book called? although i don't particularly care for him, i think he is very interesting & i'd love to read his book.
anyway, dave, do you have a release date yet on the book? i cannot wait to check it out. it sounds great. don't try this... and kiedis's scar tissue are definitely on my buy the day they come out lists! hopefully we can get some signed copies or possibly you could make appearances at bookstores to sign them...believe me, you would never guess how many people go out to buy those and show up for booksignings. back in the day when my brother was into 'the corporation formerly known as the wwf' people wrapped around street corners for hours to meet the wrestlers. i think it was mick 'mankind' foley's book...he actually happens to be really funny & articulate. but i digress. do book signings, dave! hehe
hope everyone is doing well. my last wk in la is a tad bittersweet. in one respect, i will miss it so much & i've had tons of great memories. on the other hand, i cannot wait any longer to get out of here & be in the company of good friends once again...but then there is the whole school issue. i should know about ny in about a week's time- keep your fingers crossed for me, fam.
i like tim's panic agency code name idea- so awesome.
well, finally passing out.

anyway, dave, do you have a release date yet on the book? i cannot wait to check it out. it sounds great. don't try this... and kiedis's scar tissue are definitely on my buy the day they come out lists! hopefully we can get some signed copies or possibly you could make appearances at bookstores to sign them...believe me, you would never guess how many people go out to buy those and show up for booksignings. back in the day when my brother was into 'the corporation formerly known as the wwf' people wrapped around street corners for hours to meet the wrestlers. i think it was mick 'mankind' foley's book...he actually happens to be really funny & articulate. but i digress. do book signings, dave! hehe
hope everyone is doing well. my last wk in la is a tad bittersweet. in one respect, i will miss it so much & i've had tons of great memories. on the other hand, i cannot wait any longer to get out of here & be in the company of good friends once again...but then there is the whole school issue. i should know about ny in about a week's time- keep your fingers crossed for me, fam.
i like tim's panic agency code name idea- so awesome.
well, finally passing out.
xoxo

Hey you guys, just want to clarify what I had in mind when I suggested we set up a forum to chat. I was thinking is that we need a place to talk about stuff that doesn't pertain to Dave. I'm just noticing the friendships forming and people posting to each other and stuff being posted that really doesn't pertain to Dave at all. And with the community growing by the day, it's obvious that it is going to get tiring for Dave to have to read so many posts before he can give us our daily Dave fix. The other site would be to catch that overflow -- not the TPC stuff, or anything else that actually involves Dave, but just us chatting amongst ourselves. Not that Dave shouldn't be there. But what it would do is give him the OPTION of reading that stuff, while this site can be reserved for what it was meant to be -- for him to communicate with us and vice versa.
I'm just saying that we can communicate with each other elsewhere, and I think we should. I don't even think we should ask him to sound in on this. I mean, it's obvious enough that the traffic here will soon grow to an unmanageable level -- why put him in the uncomfortable position of having to confirm that? I think we should just be considerate enough to try to lighten the load on our own.
Lisa, I think FreAk has everyone emailing him their Panic Agent name and location. Is that correct, FreAk?
Kyle, cool that you called and got through! I'd love to hear that if anyone has it.
Ellen, Manson's book is called The Long Hard Road Out of Hell. Good luck with the move!

Dave.
Imagine my surprise when I found out that you've reopened 6767.com after all these years! (here I go a few weeks without checking my regular DN sites and now I feel so out of the loop!)
I still have print-outs from your old ramblings page. They're priceless :)
Anyway, you were talking about giving out signed copys of Trust No One, and I hope you'll have some sort of a contest on this site, for those of us who don't get a chance to listen when you're on the air. Either that, or give so many out on air that some of them are bound to end up on ebay for us less fortunate ones.
Oh, and I'd like to thank you for the guitar pick you gave me during Jane's show in Oslo. Such a great show.
Hmm, do you even read these messages? I prolly wouldn't if I was you :)

Hey Dave,
First off, you are truly a guitar great that understands the use of light and shade, speed and texture as well as the great Jimmy Page. Hats off!! and second...
How/what is your brother doing? I really miss the articles you guys used to write for Bikini magazine. Any plans to do something like that in the future?
Wishing you well always,
fretboy
P.S. Great site by the way.
