:::Brief:::
Good morning. As it turns out, Steve's computer is still in the shop getting repaired. As soon as he is up and running, we will get moving. As for all the work you guys are doing, we think it's great. In some ways you are moving faster than us, which in turn, is very inspiring. We thank you for that. I have a long day ahead so I have to make this post brief. I simply wanted to say thank you and hello. I'll get to some finer points later and the art you have sent in should be up tonight. Have a beautiful day my friends.

Simon,
That is a complete inappropriate post. Please either as appropriate questions or do not post here at all. All of us are a big family, so as your momma told you (or should told you while whooping you ass) "If you don't any anything nice to say don't say it!"
Dave has been very open with us do not abuse the gift that dave has given us.
Dave,
Is there anything that you can do with type pad to give us log ins? That way if there is a poster that needs to be banned it can happen? I just hate to see this type of thing happen. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I don't want one bad apple to ruin the cart.
Much love to all in the family and to those who aren't you will not be welcomed. Its easy to get in to the family. Just keep it real and show some respect to the don.

I thought it was coca-cola too, because I drink it a lot myself.
I know sometimes I whinge at some, only very few comments on here, and even more often, I post mine, and go, damn I wish I could edit it. (should have checked it better before I posted right?)
I'm betting Dave is used to question like that in his life being a celebrity, is that true Dave? The press here in the UK ask some outrageous personal questions.
I totally understand your sentiments whitepony.

Right! to clear things up: from speakcarmenese.com
"Carmen hates Daves smoking habit and Dave can't stand the way she leaves Coke cans everywhere. So they make an agreement not to do either of those things in the new house. You can watch thier funny antics in this clip."
And you can watch this clip here:
http://www.speakcarmenese.com/lspetpeeves.mov
I think that what Simon was refering to in his post. If its not the case, then this isn polite from Simon, but honestly, Im quite sure he's talkin about this coca-cola habit. So no harm done Simon and Pony. That wasn the best way to ask the question, where coca-cola instead of "coke" wud av been more appropriated...lol
Enjoy!

Simon.
I have to agree with everything Whitepony said about your post. That was out of order. If that was a genuine question about Carmen's well being with a past problem(i wouldn't even know if there was one)then you should have worded it accordingly.
I would hate to feel a bad vibe between people here.

"Dear Dave,
I believe we are twin sons of different mothers. Alas,my comment: I was rereading my journal that I kept in rehab(2 yrs.old), and I was amazed at how freakin' powerful it is, some of my poems actually made me proud of myself in a Sexton/Plath kinda way. Wondering if you kept one while you were in and if any of your songs are culled from that time? Peace&Love brother, Michael"
I didn't get to do this yesterday, but I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on staying clean so long Michael. Hopefully that is making you proud as well. Way to go!
And about the Coke thing.. I believe Simon was joking around with a pun.. Carmen I'm guessing drinks Diet Coke (notice the name says Coke) so that's probably where he got Coke instead of coca cola. If she does drink diet, i don't see why she doesn't need it she's perfect.

Hi All,
WOW! Funny how things get misconstrued here! Yes, Carmen DRINKS LOTS of COKE. Dave was complaining about Carmen leaving empty cans all over their new house during the TDDUP show.
Hey Freak,
I guess GREAT minds think alike!? You did do todays art didn't you? I just worked on some logo art using that SAME EXACT Dave photo yesterday! BIZARRE!
Keep up the GREAT work Freak! Btw, are you a professional graphic designer? Well, you should be.
Hi Kyle,
"if we get a nice art work page going maybe we can have a little voting section or a poll and have the top 5 art works voted for by us. its just an idea"
I don't think voting on the submitted art is actually a good idea at all, as many here are actually professionals working in the graphics field OR are working towards being artists. It would be unfair to the others who are just having fun with Photoshop. It'll also put too much of a competitive vibe on this 'art' thing here. It's best to keep it all fun.
I do think it's an absolutely GREAT & SURREAL situation that Dave is giving so many here a HUGE free forum to display their creatively & ideas.
Plus the fact that Dave is communicating with us on a daily basis, is another first for someone who is so famous & busy.
So let's not turn this very cool set-up here into any sort of a contest. Kyle, if you were talking about setting up an art contest page somewhere else, then I apologize. I just don't think it's cool to do it here. Just my 2 cents
Peace.
take care,
itanja

Hi Dave,
I meant to post this yesterday. I was the second to last caller who got tickets to Doheny. I totally got tongue tied and couldn’t get the “I’m about to do right. I think I said something like “your about to do in a really squeaky voice. I was listening to the entire show so it wasn’t a surprise but I got “performance anxiety. Plus it was really hard to tell when I was on because there was no distinction in the sound and it was really loud and I’m pretty slow on my feet. Anyhow, I know I’m full of excuses. I don’t know why you kept saying that you guys were boring cause I thought the show went good. As usual you were all funny as hell. Thanks for keeping me laughing.
About the artwork you guys are awesome I wish I could get my lazy ass started in something.

Hi Emily! Have a much better day tomorrow!
Night to all, night Dave. Much mellow day today, went to a funeral of the child of a coworker. Sure made me come home and hug my baby sweet pea as tight as she could stand!
I find myself coming here daily wondering about all the people here who have something in common: the inspiration and great feelings from Dave's music.
Some of us are borderline fanatical, others mere worshipers of the technical skills of Dave's guitar playing. My own draw here is that Dave's music makes me feel like there's finally a way to express what words never suffice to say. The welling up of emotion from an event or memory that can only be expressed through a part of one of his songs.
Dave, are you ever emotional when you hear a certain song or part of a song that helps you truly understand what and how you feel, or brings you back to an event? When I hear a certain part of Summertime Rolls, I am completely transported to a time in my life - I'm there again. The blood rushes to my stomach, I'm lightheaded and in love. Totally abandoned to that feeling again.
Dave, you may never have asked for or even thought that you would have the influence you do on so many people - it's an awesome responsibility in a way - but you truly do affect others. Your music inspires feelings in me that help me find expression that mere words never do. Thanks so much for giving us an outlet. You're great!
Posted by: Aimee at August 16, 2004 08:56 PM
Paperdove,
Here is my advice on the PRS. Pick one up and play it. Then play other guitars in the same price range. I think you could find a used G&L Strat (USA Made) or a good japanese strat for the same money. I haven't played the SE-EG so I can't say which you are going to like better. If you want something with 3 single coils those are the guitars to look at.
Let me know what ya get!

aimee...i completely understand what you're talking about...i get the same feeling from Summertime Rolls (one of my all time fav songs)and various other feelings from other dave/jane's songs...and i love that...you're right about dave being a way for an emotional part of me to be expressed. that's what draws me to him and his music...that maybe i'm not alone in a particular emotion...someone else feels the way i feel too. i like that feeling of connectedness (plus...i'm one of those that borders on fanatical and appreciates dave aesthetically as well lol). so i'd like to join aimee in saying thanks to dave for being an inspiration, a vicarious emotional outlet, and just a great, awesome person in general.
and thanks once again to the people who brightened my day :-)

hey dave, hope all is well with you and I just wanted to say that it is so cool that you actually care about your fans and are willing to answer questions :)
anyway you mentioned that NIN is probably your favorite modern band, so what's your favorite NIN song and album?
Posted by: soma at August 16, 2004 10:02 PM
Hi Emily! :D Better day tomorrow...
Paperdove... I have an old 1970's Harmony Strat... and I enjoy it a lot. Bought it off a former co-worker, along with a Peavey Rage amp for $100... then found out the guitar's a collectible. Lately I've been looking at getting a new one... Checked out a couple PRS and ESP models... ended up liking both, but I like a couple of the ESPs better with respect to what I can afford right now. I'll probably get one of the ESPs, at least until I can afford a PRS.
Thing is, you never know about a guitar until you pick it up and play it, so I have to go with what Pony said... go... play... you'll know what feels right and sounds right. ;)
Dave... Unholy and Ashes are awesome! :) Thanks for the vid clips... I'm craving more already!
Ok... back to downloading from Pony's media page... Did I mention I hate dialup? LOL
Peace,
Tim/Panic Agent Nitewing

Dave,
"Navarro: The fact of the matter is, we've been intending on finalizing this marriage for the past year. Had it not been for MTV's involvement and suggestion of the show, we may honestly still not be married at this point. We actually had to hop to it and make it happen. This forced us to clear our schedules and do the show and be married — which is awesome."
When did that happen?
I mean, what the hell??? I saw the show like 2 months ago, I didn't even see the last chapter and... when did you say that? I don't get this part: "we've been intending on finalizing this marriage for the past year" but... you got married last year, so how come?? What the hell is that about?
Posted by: Adriana at August 16, 2004 10:16 PM
Ohhhhhhhhhh
Ohh
Fuck,
Fuck,
Fuck, nevermind... In my defense I did not have my glasses on and I understood something entirely different because of this "finalizing this marriage" and this "we may honestly still not be married at this point" I thought you were talking about a divorce or something... God this is so embarrassing, could you ignore my previous post? Please? For the love of God! Why isn't there an edit button??? Why?!?!?!
Ok so I'm just gonna go, somewhere -anywhere-.

My post above said it was from paperdove... it was to paperdove... very wierd.

Awwwe Anthony...
you're sooooooo tired! You probably were thinking of posting it to her and you wrote her name in the "name" box...hehehe...you're too sweet!

Hey Dave, so nice of you to keep us updated on all that's going on 'cos being curious is what we're about :) Hope you'll have a good week ahead of you. I know I'll have 'cos the ambience on this place sure gives me power.
To Adriana, I think it's great how you reacted to your own post. You know there are people who would've never admitted and perhaps never posted another paragraph to this page. You should be proud of your honest attitude instead of being embarrassed of your first interpretation.

Hi Dave, community and Emily!
What's with that "Unholy" clip? Did i miss that?
Its not in the d/l section??
Anyway really like the direction TPC is taking.
Does Steve play guitar on all the new songs?
And agreed about the great logo artwork, it's on my desktop now also!!!
Don't have much time atm to be on msn, hope to talk to the family soon again...
love,

yeah pony i saw that, i just figured you were tired lol.
thanks to everybody for giving me something to work off of, its really appreciated.
another question: alot of you said to play the guitar first, obviously, to see which one i like the most and feels right... what do you suggest i play so i dont look like a fucking idiot (the wayne's world scene with "no playing stairway to heaven" comes to mind). and i was originally thinking that i would actually order the guitar from prs, and they would sell it to me, now you all are posting i am seeing this is probably not the greatest idea, for many reasons. i might hit the local pawn shops or other places in town and pick out my favorite two or three, and maybe i can run them by you all, because i know you guys are much more experienced in this area than i am, lol.
again, thank you for all your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

people are asking a lot of questions that are just wasting space on this comments page, most of them have already been answered, some even twice... especially the ones about the book, and panic channel gigs... can people please just take some time to skim through old updates from dave, read the faq on whitepony or for information on the book look at amazon... it is there.

Itanja...no, i didnt mean setting up a voting section on this page. it was an idea for another page. the idea was to have a alittle section aside for fun, not for serious voting where we say we love or hate a pic. it was just an idea for alil fun, but i see where you are coming from. but ya, i didnt mean on this page, but i agree with where you are coming from!
stay well

Good morning, Dave! That Stepford-like vibe is just us awaiting the arrival of our Lord and master. (Scary, I know.)
Posted by: Dana at August 17, 2004 08:55 AM
Wow. This site totally amazes me.. I have said it before and will keep saying it...
DAVE, you have touched sooo many people and we all LOVE what you do for us. Somehow "thank you" doesn't do justice for what it all means.
And on that note I will ask all of you wonderful people who have posted here one question.. You LOVE Dave so much and you have experiences, thoughts, whatever. Why don't you come to the chats that the 6767 ppl have on a regular basis and get to meet with your fellow ppl. Freak has a list of people... you'll need MSN Messenger program to join and also a Microsoft Passport as well.. It's all FREE stuff to download and signup for and the chats are FREE as well.
Meeting people literally from all over the globe in this chat is mind blowing at least... the UK, France, South Africa, Australia, Japan, the list goes on and on.. so SIGN UP ppl it's a blast to chat with you all.
It would be great to do just a bit more than just post here ands to meet your fellow 6767 ppl?
It's just a thought...
Peace and Respect,
Agent 92562

Good Morning Dave...Good Morning Family! Here is a little early morning news item:
"Dave Navarro Readies Tell-All
The New York Post reports former Jane's Addiction rocker Dave Navarro is set tp release 'Don't Try This at Home' through ReganBooks in October. The tell-all book will feature revealing photo strips from a booth he has in his Hollywood Hills house. The book's billed as "a diary, a sociology experiment, a documentary of Hollywood and an exercise in exhibitionism," as well as "a gritty portrait of his descent into drug use and self-destructiveness" — not to mention wife Carmen Electra's bed."
Everyone have a perfect day!
THAT MEANS YOU EMILY!!!

Last night I worked on putting the bass line from digitaloutcastgirl aka Bonnie with saraswati drum loop. It's a simple 2 notes but
It is dark. I think it leaves a lot of space for other people's input to layer other chords or sounds.I left it off the intro and mid section so they are open to anything.
