A Quick 10

IsThisPanicFreAk1. Dave who composes in the new group??????

It's mainly a group thing. We either jam or work off a riff that someone has.

2. I was wondering if you still spend time or have plans to collaborate with Manson and/or Twiggy and if it's hard to be around people who are still notorious 'partiers' while being past that personally?

Actually, if you look at the studio video in the download section, (I know it's dark) you can see Twiggy "routing me on" behind me.

3. I had a question about collaboration. I think I remember reading that you consider Billy Corgan a friend, and I know you are tight with Maynard, so through either of these guys have you had a chance to jam with James Iha? I've not heard him outside of SP, but what he did with them was most excellent for sure.

I have not, but he just finished a tour with A Perfect Circle. I jammed with Billy once. That was funny. We were both trying to solo at the same time. Talk about a clash of egos! It was all in fun.

4. What was it exactly that caused you to have such low self esteem all those years ago?

I don't really know for sure. A lot of things I suppose. The good news for anyone struggling with l.s.e. is that with faith, you can get through to the other side of it.

5. Do you ever look back at the 03 tour and feel like it was truly a shell of what it once was? Do you not feel that Ezrin was a bad choice?

I never compared. Honestly it was just a different thing and I ultimately had a really great time and found myself truly inspired. Bob Ezrin was amazing to work with. There is only so much he can do, we wrote the songs. I appreciate the change in tone from your earlier posts. God bless.

6. Do you even remember middle of the night, sick? I'm glad to see you doing so well.

Oh yes! I'll put that clip up in the downloads section. I'll say "hi" to LD for you.

7. Dave have you ever had a panic attack?

Back in the day I used to. Like literally 20 years ago. I remember having to breathe in a paper bag. Just awful!

8. If I showed up would you sign my janes addiction cd?

Sure.

9. Hey Dave ...saw the post a couple of days ago entitled Dentist Appointment and after your comment on CFR - own up - how many fillings do you have?? I ask being British female of 31 with no fillings!

I stand corrected! I do have 1. You got me beat!

10. Dave I hope u kick they a**'s in poker tonight, we'll be watchin for sure!!!!!

Well, I'd hate to give it away... but... perhaps I can interest you in watching something else!!!!

Peace my friends,

Dave

Dave, how do you rate the guitar style of Omar Rodriguez from The Mars Volta? I can hear a Navarro influence in his playing. Is there any chance you would work with him?

Hi Dave

I am a fan of guitar player Richie Kotzen - over at his site it mentions youself as one of the people who have used his recording studio Headroom-Inc. Was it for the recording of FireStarter with Gene Simmons? It also mentions Gene as being another who's used the studios.
Have you met Richie before and if so, what are your opinions on him as a player and in general as a person.

Thanks Dave!
Ben
U.K.

p.s. this site rocks like a muthafu**er!!

Posted by: Ben at August 12, 2004 10:41 AM

Dave, did you ever record Blender (or other "actually good" material in 1997-1998) with Peppers? And if you did, do you have any tapes, copies etc. ? And if you do, could you PLEASE release them or something. We wanna hear them!

You rock.

ROCK!!!!

Posted by: bluelizard at August 12, 2004 10:48 AM

hey dave and everybody

just checking in to get my fix of things here. it is a great vibe here and i look forward to getting to know people better. it's always great to find people as passionate about something as you are.

which leads me to a question - i read somewhere about a 6767 chat on msn or something? what/where is that?

thanks for your time!

I'll watch you play poker no matter how you do - it's still better than I could do, I'm sure.:-)

I'm working on getting a pic so I can submit a bio to Pony - everyone who has one is looking good.:-)

Dave-
I don't know if you were in attendance or not but the teen choice thing was on last night. (i was flipping thru you got to beleive me people) anyway i was wondering if you were there or ever have been to one. and if you have how the hell could people sit thru all that high pitch screaming going on. I was looking hard at some of the actors/musicians to see if they had earplugs in. I had to turn it fast. It got annoying.

just wondering.
Keep on keeping on

Posted by: r3 at August 12, 2004 11:07 AM

Dave,

DAMN!!! DAMN!!! That solo in the studio footage is f@$%#ng unreal bro. Very *slow* compared to a lot of your other stuff too. I hear a lot of Gilmour in it. I hope there is more like this on the way! What song is that you're playing, is it named yet?

I think the light level was fitting of the vibe I got from you playing anways. :-)

Dave,

Thanks for answering my post yesterday. By the way, I hope you didn't take offense at my earlier posts. You, Perry, and Steve are adults. I was just pissed when I heard the news. When you listen to a band almost everyday for 12+ years, you feel like you have the right to say whatever you want to them when given the chance. Things are different when you're looking from the outside in and I just don't want to see you're newfound celebrity drown out your God given talent. Maybe you can play Iris occasionally when you start touring again, eh?

Also, I remember reading a while back right before TNO came out, that you didn't want anyone to think you would be releasing a "guitar hero" album. Well, think you'll ever make a "guitar hero" album? I know you're at a good point in your life, but I need some dark, moody music from you.

God bless you and yours

Hey there. What a great community you've created here... there's a good lesson playing out along the lines of "because you're sharing yourself, it makes other people spread the love too" (or something like that).

Just wondering if you have, or ever had, any interest in classical music. I'm an opera singer (we're not as snooty as the stereotype), and think the two worlds (rock music vs. the classical sound) can really come together to make some powerfully layered stuff.

And I'm not just saying that because I'd like to be the opera singer to do that rock/crossover thing. Although, if you need anybody...

Have a great day.

I've a couple of great quality bootleg RHCP gigs on cd with Dave on guitar.circa '95,'96.Is it o.k. to share these?.Don't want to get into copywrite bother.

Here is a post i made earlier... i wanted to make sure everyone knows what is going on with my site. Please rest assured I have not lost any data at this point.

State of the Union for www.whitepony.net

Yeah the site is down still / again. I believe it has something to do with the firewall software i installed on it last night to prevent this from happening again. I hope to get it straightened out tonight. It won't even let me remote in to try to fix it.

Cori, my costs that I am putting into running the site is mainly my time. I paid 30 bucks for 2 years of the domain. I run my own server which saves me money, but can lead to problems like I am running now. I will probally be spending some money to upgrade the machine its hosted on. I am doing this for dave and for the community. It is not nessesary to send me money to help out.

I am going home at lunch to try to get it back up and running. I still have 3 bios to put in. Please don't lose faith in me... I'm just struggling with major technical difficulties.

Personally, I feel for you...I would be throwing my puter out the window right about now if I were you...don't know how you do it but, just wanted to say a heartfelt "THANKS" for all of your time and effort.

appreciate all your work. I have paypal and I'll be more than happy to contribute any funds needed. Just let me know how.

Don't you all love it when Dave answers your questions? It's like you won a prize or something :)

to the people experiencing problems with the in the studio clip:

i found that screwing with the settings on my computer monitor helped a little, so i could *almost* see dave's goatee (and what a fine goatee it is, might i add...) but my monitor wouldnt go any lighter, so i was out of luck... oh well, maybe your monitor will go lighter, good luck people.

and to luiz and the tiger people, i have no idea who you are, just the people who were interested in the tigers... i showed that pic to my friend, the tattoo artist, and she told me to link her page to 6767, i guess they have a website... new information to me. so here it is:

http://www.painlesssteeltattoo.com/GinaMorrill1.html

there are a couple pics of her tiger work, i especially like the all black ink tiger, with no color, the one in the bottom right.

dave, get back to me about the kids who want to be your panic agents... i ran it by them and they were all excited, they were like pulling out their ALBUMS of your pictures (the ones that wouldnt fit on their walls, that is...) yeah and the one girl grabbed her guitar and started pounding out ocean size... man the one girl is cool, her name is amanda too. ok, im going to shut up now... and ill try to update with the celebrity poker showdown airing time and everything... ill pick up the tv guide when i go out to bring back my rented movies (sure, dave gets an assistant, but i have to drive my car that is about to fucking fall apart down to blockbuster... oh well, one day...)

I never made a formal introduction have I? I really don't like to talk about myself.. but I'm one of the administrators of the RHCP's official and fanclub message board and one of the organizers of 3 different official RHCP fanclub conventions.
I've been a Chili fan since '89 but only got fully involved in the fanclub in '99. I have a lot of history with them and have read countless inteviews, not to mention developing a friendship with Anthony's dad who runs the fanclub. I honestly don't mean to come off as a know-it-all, but as you can see I've been around for a while.

I've been a fan of Dave's since 1990.
I will be 24 in a few months.

I do have MSN messenger though, my hotmail email is below. I'll try to hop on MSN later tonight... :)
Don't think I know Anthony personally or anything, he has seen me around but I've actually never officially met him, which is kinda funny considering he was in the same room as me Friday. He was swamped with the other folks though, and I am not into those quick celebrity-style hellos with a picture or autograph or whatever. If I ever do get to meet him or any of my other favorite musicians, I want to be able to sit down and chat as equals without the pressure of time constraint.

but anyways, yeah... Enough about Anthony, this is Dave's site so we should stay on topic.
Who's the oldest fan here? How long have you been fans of Dave's?

"it's all good" as dave says. dave, I love when you say that, and it's so nice to see you so positive. The book you have coming out, how did people react to being asked to come in and go into a photobooth?
That's such a cool idea, wish I'd thought of it. :D

My son, he's 14 and lives with his dad in NJ, he's a huge Dave fan, he just told me! :) He's an accomplished guitarist, and trumpet player, even I'm amazed. So I'm encouraging him to get involved because he loves music and playing guitar so much, but not sure if he'll be able to. Crossing my fingers. He was so happy Flea plays trumpet too, he's been playing since he was 6. It's good for him having role models like that.

I remember buying Ritual De Lo Habitual in San Fran, and all that nonsense about the cover, and the alternative cover. :D Whoa, I just checked on amazon.com and they "amended' cover is still available. Anyway, my son was born in San Fran in 1990, and that CD helped me through those times.

Ok good news finally. The site is back up and holding stable. Not super fast, but stable. I have found some webspace and i will be uploading spread sometime in the very near future. It will be in one zip file for your convienece. With this disaster behind me I am fully ready to move onto the Street Team project once it gets handed to me.

This will be more like the guestbook where you can sign up yourself not having to e-mail me and have me add you. Once we know more what our responsibilities are I will do more with it.

Dave... any idea when we can start hoping for a TPC tour? I am stoked about the album but I wanna hear you live!!!!! Thats where its at.

BTW your cross held by the skulls was that made by BWL? I saw a replica of it on Ebay and before I knew it the price was around 800 bucks. You have really good fashion taste.

So I am still looking for a good cross pendant... anyone have any good suggestions... max price of about 100 bucks.

PA 69... I just turned 42 back on June 28... but I'm really about 21... LOL I plan to be like Dick Clark and never age... ;)

Became a fan of Dave's the first time I saw "Gift"... and I don't remember the year, but it had just been released. I've never seen Dave or Jane's live... :( Yes, I know... I'm depraved... errrrr... I mean... deprived. LOL I had planned to go see them in 2003 in Raleigh, but the show was cancelled. That's ok though... I'll definitely be there when TPC and/or CF hits the road. ;)

Maybe, since I'm moving to Chicago next month, I'll get lucky and have a chance to catch them at the Oyster Fest next summer. ;) (No... I'd NEVER drop hints! LOL)

Anthony... not gonna lose faith in you at all. Just wish I could help you out somehow, because reading your post, I was having flashbacks to when I was a programmer and spent endless frustrating nights trying to solve various logic and code problems. Blehhh... (Does anyone even remember COBOL and RPG II... or maybe Fortran?)

FreAk... great news on the transfers! Looking forward to seeing what you've come up with...

Anyone in the path of hurricane Charlie... I'm feelin' ya! It's supposed to be coming here too. We've been dealing with Bonnie all afternoon... already some flooding and a tornado about 10 miles from my house. Waaaayyy too close for me!

got this email from my sister today, not sure where it's from, but it's cool:

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting
".......holy shit.....what a ride!"

28 here, but going on 16

i've been reading steve isaacs site just now, well here's some synchronicity for you. odd. he was looking for books on ouija boards, and then today he was saying about an image of woman with black wings, and here's what i wrote aug 3rd. (my pal and i write "poetry/lyrics' back and forth on a message board. i lots of of practice though) here it is, i put it on steve's site to inthe comments. (be nice! this is about something that happened years ago, and i am not into this, too scary)

we met
her
Pam
her
huge eyes
stared
she said come
let's get the board
come on everyone
let's get the board
she pulled us all
into our chairs
panic stricken
golden hair

she called the spirits
she said come
come show yourselves
to us
come on show us
come on
come

Sue it said
only Sue.
That's all
we saw
was Sue.
following
dark wings
behind
mirror image
dark behind
look behind
look behind

come and look behind
the shadows
come and look
come on

looking in my mirror
i could see
Sue behind my
left shoulder
peering at me
a shadow with dark wings
i froze
quickly turned
nothing there

nothing
only something
teasing
dark
wings
over me
a shadow
over me
all the time

well...i feel like joining in on the age thing even if some people hate me...i'm 18 (i'll 19 on Oct 9th...john lennon's bday! i'm proud of that lol)...i first became a jane's fan during the relapse tour...i was at camp...and my counselor lived for JA...and we were pretty close (i was 12 she was 15) so she let me listen...and i fell in love that instant and have been hooked ever since!

then dave came out with TNO and i became obsessed lol...and then i'm here today! lol

have fun everyone! love across the board and love to dave!

Thanks you guys! I'm watching the show now, but I think I probably already saw the best part -- when Dave first walks out and sits down. Colleen, did you catch that delicious ass shot right before he sat down? I know you did! Yeah, I'll be real surprised if it gets better than that.

Oops! Spoke too soon. :p

Dana I saw the ass shot, here's what is really funny though

So we're having dinner with my parents, and (my parents always watch tv during dinner, wierd) So I turned on Celebrity Poker and my husband announces to my whole family "That guy with all the tattoos is Cindy's boyfriend" So here's my parents, straining their eyes to see Dave and my dad say's (in old man voice) "What in the sam hell?"

AHHHHHHH shit it was funny!

Dave you were too cute tonight :o)

Posted by: Cynthia at August 12, 2004 07:13 PM

hehe my parents are officially addicted to Celebrity Poker....

Hello!
I'm 23 b-day is 1/22/81. I've got a nice celtic cross on my shoulder with "time heals all" over it. Enough piercings to keep me content for the time. I became a JA fan in the early 90's, but sadly never got the chance to see them play. =( I'm so excited to be a part of this site and love everyone here. Thank you for the kind words when I needed them (car broken into). If there is anything I can do for anyone let me know. I'm trying to figure out a way to add on to this shirt with printable iron ons. If someone knows how to do this and can e-mail me with some instructions that would be great.

(Janes Addiction related....)

1) true nature is my favorite strays album music video, what is yours?

2)Which was the most fun to make for you personally?

3)How about overall (during your entire career?)
