SWK/AMW
Normally I wouldn't post a link like this, but in light of some of the posts I have read regarding the loss of a loved one, it seemed timely. I suppose my point is that I relate and it gets better. I taped the show, AMW, a few months ago. I guess it airs on Saturday... trippy.
On a lighter side, the Star Wars Kid. I'm a huge fan of his and I plan to pay tribute to him in some way within the next few weeks. I will definitely let you know when that happens. Thank you to Zero for the link.
Here is an old version of Sunny Day.
1. as a guitar player, i wondered how old you were when you started playing
When I was 11. Technically, I should be much better by now!
2. Have you ever worked with Dave Grohl? and what do you think about him?
Never worked with him, although I have met him several times. I think he is amazingly talented and very funny. He is the real deal, as they say.
3. put rain/snow/sunshine in order you like.
Rain, snow and sunshine, just as you have it there! I really dig the overcast dark moody vibe like in London or Seattle.
4. Do you have any advice on what to do to not fight all the time?
We have kind of learned to accept each other's defects. In fact, we have learned to love the things about each other that can sometimes drive us crazy, but in a healthy way. One can feel if a situation is unhealthy at it's core. Good luck.
5. What are your favorite songs on your album Trust No One?
Not For Nothing and Slow Motion Sickness.
6. Hey Papi, Does Carmen ever play playstation with u?
She is all about the old school games like Galaga and Ms. Pac Man. She gets VERY competitive!
7. What are your favorite meditation techniques? Zen? SRF?
I am not really schooled, I just do whatever feels right for the day. I suppose I would call it reflective quiet time.
8. Do you still see music in "Colors"?
I do. That is why I love so many layers and effects. My approach in the studio is way different from live. Studio time is like painting and a live show is like drawing. (I have no idea what any of that means! Scratch that... Yes, I love the colors of music.)
9. you said 1 of the songs on One Hot Minute that you didnt like was Tear Jerker...is this true?
I really love that song. You know, it's about Kurt. We wrote it in Hawaii right after the news broke.
10. Would you take a picture of Carmen as she is waking up in the morning and post it here?
Actually there is a picture of her sleeping in the book. SHHHHHHHHH! Don't tell her!
11. You know those pictures that were posted of you a few days ago, were you wearing Speedos??
Ha... I don't think so, I think they were just underwear. But, Speedos. Hmmmmm. You may have something there. I better call my stylist!
12. So, there seems to be a lot more side-chatter going on now here than there originally was. What's your take on this?
Actually, it has been really great. If by side chatter you mean people talking among themselves I love it. Community dude!
13. can you please keep us posted on any CF shows on the horizon?
For sure.
14. What/who inspired you to be a musician when you were young?
My cousin, Dan Navarro and Jimi Hendrix.
15. Grand National, my favorite car of them all. My friend just got one and I have yet to give it a spin. 87 or 88 dave?
I thought it was an 86... Must be an 87. Thanx. I need to at least SOUND like I know what I'm talking about.
May The Force Be With You...

Dave, thanks for letting us know you'll be on AMW. It must have been so hard to understand the way that she passed away. I send a hug to you, too ((hug))
I normally don't talk much about things like that either, but since we're on the subject and we're all being open...
I will never know why for sure, but I think I understand a bit why my grandmother wanted to end her own life. She was pretty ill... she had diabetes, problems with her eye, and a number of other health related problems such as heavy water retention throughout her body and around her heart that made her life so uncomfortable. And if she became bed-ridden she was not the type of person that would want to fall burden on anyone that would have to take care of her. She was always telling me "I won't be around much longer" and I was thinking she was saying that because she was old, but now I think it might have been a hint into what she was planning. I definitely don't understand the way she chose to do it.. She hung herself. My grandfather found her hanging in the basement of their appartment building. I think that disturbed me even more than the fact that she was dead.
This was all a few years ago, and time is definitely a healer. She left us with many fond memories as the family's piller of strength to look back on.
On a different and brighter note, these downloads you're putting up are excellent. I got new speakers for my computer and can hear them a lot better now. I personally can't wait to hear some Camp Freddy stuff!

wow talk about timing with amw airing this week.Untimely death of a loved one is definitely the hardest thing to cope with. When my dad passed on(he was only 49)it was very hard to deal with myself, let alone explain it to my then 6 yr old daughter.(it was january, the last thing hed done that night was shovel, and i had gone to bed that night and remember hearing him out there-he lived across the street from us)what was freaky was a few nights after he passed on i coulda sworn id heard him out there after, and the next morning my daughter was telling me she talked to him...he told her he loved her and her "papa" would always watch over her.Im not one to believe ghost stories, but ya gotta wonder huh..lol.Anyone else ever feel or hear or see what might be...just curious.

Hey Dave...on the 2003 jane's tour what was the reason the setlist didnt change much? what happened to summertime rolls, no ones leaving, trip away etc... were you guys just tired of those songs after all these years or was it someone "boycotting" them. seemed like all shows were almost identical

Dave,
this AMW thing is terribly shocking, man...
I know it´s been years ago but I sincerely feel for you.
I´m glad that the guy who commited those atrocities got caught. And I´m also glad that you´re presently feeling well enough to talk about it openly. I bet that just by doing that you give strength to a lot of people dealing with similar issues.
God bless you, Dave. You´re always a true inspiration.
Much love from,
Luiz.

Dave....
thanx so much for all the words and things about the loss of a loved one, that seems to be a recurrent subject here....yes, simply because life gives us happiness and pain....
personally, i lived a similar situation and it was terrible, it changed my life forever and i still feel endlessy sad.
i've been trying to go on, but sometimes it simply doesn't work.
you know, it's hard to "love" again...i mean, in general, to love the world-life-people again....
so i really thank you for all your nice words here, it really helps to deal with it.
you're a such special person, Dave.
thanx for everything.
Love from Italy

Dave,
I was just wondering if you have heard of the new MetallicA movie coming out "Some Kind of Monster" and if you plan on seeing it. Are you a fan of MetallicA and what do you think of James Hetfield as a guitar player?
Posted by: Casey at July 21, 2004 08:29 AM
Hey dave!
I won't say it enough, but this is something so cool what you're doin at the moment here with this site and us, the fans. That should give some ideas to some other famous (and cool) people!
One thing dave: Although Im livin in the UK, Im nonetheless French! (I know!). And what I did, is that I went down to a Louis Vuitton ShowRoom with a pix in hand of your guitar strap! I never intended to make'em do one for me, but that was just to check their faces, and see if they could actually do it! So I went down there very posh. That was funny! to cut short to the story, they wudnt do it there, and questioned authenticity from urs! Is that a real one btw? U guys in USA, u got lots of items that we can never have here in France! (a shame, coz its a french brand afterall!) I'm thinkin of Gucci too, lots of cool bags that dont exist here!
Right dave!
Oh yeah, and since Ive been posting messages here, how unbelievable wud it be if u wud post one on my mine?? I cant expect u to do it, but u never now...! Ive always been in touch wiv all sort of musicians and now wiv internet, its so much easier!
One last thing, on my site, ive got pix from my different tattoos, and one of'em wud make u smile!
I'll be playin wiv Fender in UK at a festival, end of August, west sussex(TBC), if anyone round there! seeU there!
Bye All & dave

Rain, snow and sunshine, just as you have it there! I really dig the overcast dark moody vibe like in London or Seattle.
never visited Seattle... I want to though, it looks fun from the pictures I've seen of it. Might be going to LA next year, any places I have to go to or else on pain of death?
London is fantastic... Cardiff's kinda fun, too, but I've only been there once, went to see the Chilis, and basically, we waited for hours to get to the front and then all these drunk fucks pushed in and I got trampled and taken out and missed loads of the show *scowls*. I don't know whether you look down at the crowd but has there ever been a time where you've just wanted to yell at people who're causing real problems for everyone else?
love,
Soph xx.

Hi Dave,
thanks for the link to the AMW - it's a great sign for people in similar situations.
One question that i could not figure out though i searched through tons of pics i collected over the years - when did you get your first tattoo and what was it? And would you agree to say that it is kind of addictive?
I got my first one (btw the OHM fairy angel) last year......and I totally love it and i cannot stop thinking of getting another one.
Thanks again for your time and kindness, you truely amaze me every day i come here.
lots of love,

Thanks for the advice, Dave. But I have one more!! Ahahahah..sorry I don't know who to tell..cause ya know "Trust No One" :)
But Anyways...
My question has to do with my boyfriend and I again..
Oh yeah I forgot to Add..our relationship is LONG DISTANCE..I live in NY..he lives in FL. He came up a few times, last time was June for my b-day. If ya wanna know my friend got us together (just so you don't think online relationship) so yeah...
Well, at the end of this August..My rents are leaving for Bermuda..and I told my mom I'm going upstate to my friend's for 4 days
but thats not the truth..I'm going down to FL because I really want to see him. I aasked my rents once a long time ago they say.."You're too young Vanessa" (I'm 16. He's 18.)
Problem is..his parents think I live down there (yeah he lied..) and my friends are coming but I have to act as though as I just met them!! Cause of his culture and such (He's Indian..so are the two girls that are coming with me)
And here's my question...
Should We Go Through With It Or Not?
Can you please answer this..because to me, I think you give out such good advice and I just need to know before I start looking for the tickets and getting it all set.
Thanks a Bunch,
Vanessa

Hey Dave,
Two things...one, just a reminder (like you need one) that the next Velvet Revolver show is July 29 in NJ, please consider popping in, I am sure Matt would love that and I KNOW we would!! Bring Carmen!
and two, on Further Down the Spiral, did you actually remix Piggy in addition to playing guitar on it? And how did you decide what you wanted to add to it?
Love and happiness,
S

Just for the record, Seattle has sunshine too, it actually gets really hot and beautiful in the summer, but us northwesterners do appreciate the rainy, "stay in and read a book" days. It sort of keeps you grounded if that makes any sense...
"Actually there is a picture of her sleeping in the book. SHHHHHHHHH! Don't tell her!"
I can't wait for your book Dave! You're killing me!
On Till Death Carmen said that you are "So funny and so talented"
I just want to say, you are and thank you for sharing it with all of us here... :O)

To Bill who posted earlier about the loss of a loved one-->
Yes.
Although it may seem "freaky" or "new agey" to most, this sort of thing can be real. Validate your daughter's experience. I know its hard. Its much easier to be skeptical until you have an experience of your own. Open your heart to the possibility. Love and Learn.
Kind regards,

Hi Dave
was wondering what you thought of the movie Gift
that Perry and Casey did, I saw it a few years back I liked seeing their art from the records life size, the Janes addiction music and the Sly and the family cover plus John Frusciante song.Parts of it were so sad and some parts are very strange like Dr. Rock and Roll. so was wondering what you thought of it, wasnt sure if it was like the The Wall movie from Pink Floyd when the only band member wanting to make that movie was Roger Waters. take care

Hi Dave,
The ladies of 'The View' were discussing you & AMW this morning. Mr. Walsh was a guest.
The forever Miss Informed, Star Jones (who really needs to hire a new research assistant or perhaps start doing some work herself! ), called you the DRUMMER in the Red Hot Chili Peppers! Oh well, at least she got your name right.
Weren't you & Carmen guests on the show a few months ago? You think she could get it right....you don't even LOOK like a drummer!
Peace!

I get your visual reference to music -and I completely subscribe to synesthesia.
With painting, you can layer the medium, let it dry, sand it down, build it up -whatever. You have time on your side, as you do *(sorta) in the studio.
With drawing, you are being pulled along by the force of the work and caught in the moment. There is only "forward" ... no going backwards -no rerouting. it brings you along for the ride and tells you when it is finished... similar *(I would assume) to the energy of a live show.
Wow! that was a semi coherant shot in the dark! I deserve a cookie.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for answering the question about the Speedos, my friend and I gave that topic much thought. I guess we didn’t have anything better to talk about at that moment. Well actually the topic went from Speedos to global domination to anal sex. J.k. By the way she still thinks you were wearing some pretty riskay undies but whatever. Anyhow, do you ever get up in the morning and just want to go somewhere different or maybe for a moment want to step into the mind of someone that’s the polar opposite of yourself just to see how their brain/life works? Do you guys have a feel of where this new musical adventure is taking you? Are you documenting part of the process? How soon will you be having gigs? It’s always fascinating to see how things evolve. Yes I do love VH1 behind the music and other rockcumentaries .
You know how people dream of being rockstars and such what are your dreams? I always wondered once people accomplished their goals and live their “dream life what their dream would be. Would it be to remain status quo, to conquer another domain or to fade into obscurity? Sorry about all the questions I had a few minutes to kill at work. I promise no more questions for a while.

I'm so sorry about your mom Dave, I'm not sure I'd be able to keep going. My family is so split apart all over the world (all my grandparents live in Australia) that I'm really close and dependent on my mom (and my sister.) I wouldn't have anyone if I didn't have her. AMW is a good show, I heard that John Walsh started it after the murder of his little boy. That's some amazing strength you guys show.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandma too Maria - hard stuff to live through. My heart goes out to all you guys who have lost someone close to you.

Vanessa, if your parents are anything like mine, I'd be careful - they'd never let me do *anything* again - and I'm 19 (they're pretty strict though.;-)) Do you think your parents would agree to let you visit him? I think it'd be easier on you if they were okay with the whole deal. I know how hard long distance relationships are though, I've been in one awhile too. I hope you get to see your bf one way or another. Be safe though, it can be rough traveling somewhere where you don't really know anyone. Good luck!
Posted by: Caitlin at July 21, 2004 05:47 PM
Dave you seem like such an amazing person. Music aside you just seem so down to earth and you shoul dbe credited probably more for that than your incredible musical ability. It is amazing the possibilities the internet has created for people to interact. 10 years ago I just thought rock star were on MTV and now I can post messaged for them to read and respond to!!
Anyway- I asked this once before. Not trying to be a pain by asking this again but it the only really good question I can think of. Considering the music industry right now and the way labels take advantage of bands and treat them unfairly, why don't a handful of wealthy artist form their own label and treat bands right. Eventually all artists will want to be on that label and in order for other labels to compete they would have to start treating bands more fairly. From your perspective what do you think??
Anyway I really enjoying reading this daily and plan on checking in as long as you do.
Thanks!!
Andrea

hey Dave! I just got home from an Incubus concert... it was a good show minus the 30 minute break they had in the middle of their set because of the weather. It was weird because it reminded me of Lollapalooza (in Indianapolis) last year when they had to take that long ass break before QOTSA came on because there was like a fuckin... tornado around us haha. Do you remember that? I remember you came out with a camera on stage and filmed the people mudsliding in the lawn. craziness. Anyway, thanks alot for answering a couple of my questions earlier. It's so cool actually communicating with someone that I've looked up to since I was like 11. Oh yeah, my band played our first 'show' at my high school's after-prom this year and we covered 3 Jane's songs (True Nature,Been Caught Stealing, and the Mountain Song)... I promise we didn't butcher them! haha. Thanks again Dave, I appreciate everything. -Trent

Vanessa, speaking from a parent perspective i can relate to your parents thinking your too young, just keep in mind they have your safety and wellbeing in mind when they say that. What if something was to happen?Sometimes even the best laid plans go awry...and cant be too carefull in this day and age anyways hun,its a big bad world out there.

Dave-dude!!
I have a couple of things I want to say...
First of all, I'm really tired of the people who keep calling you a mediawhore/attentionwhore and whatnot. If they'd achieve great success with their godgiven talent in various bands and make a good living, would they then NOT go to fundraisers and parties? Of course they would! Big ups to you for doing so many things for all the right reasons, and for a good cause! Plus, so what if you get a few pictures taken of you when you walk in- a lot of your fans get really excited about this since they love to see pics of you!
Second, I would, like most of us here, like to thank you for taking so much time out of your life to post here and connect with people that are your fans or who are just interested in you. Most artists don't even know what their official websites look like, you on the other hand take the time to communicate with us! Big uuuups...
Okay, so, now to some questions!
1. Will you come to Europe soon? (pretty pleeaaase...) On tour or something? To be exact, COME TO SWEDEN, DUDE! (Yeah, I'm swedish- that's why my english kinda sucks)
2. You always smoke on stage, but I've never seen you light a ciggarette, do you have an assistant who does this for you and then hands you the ciggarette from below the stage or something? Hee hee hee...
3. About CPS, first of all- congrats and I think you rocked on the show, it was really fun to watch! So, what I wonder is if you have already taped the championship- game? Do you know when it's gonna air? I hope you'll kick some ass!!
Enough with the letter, I know! Take care Dave, keep working on the record- but you have my permission to take some well-deserved time off soon... Hee hee!
Lotsa loove from Sweden!

hey Dave,
a very technical question that only you can really answer...I am supposed to be performing the song Warped in about 4 weeks for an assessment at school, and I was hoping to add all the little delay effects you include in the studio version, but do not play live (I refer to those few little pulled off notes that have delay applied before you go into the solo). I was just wondering if this is possible, and how would I go about doing it. If I have confused you, I am asking if it is possible to play Warped as it is on the studio version with one guitar only.
thank you for any help
Dave

Hey Dave
Thanks for interacting with us like this, sooo coool of you!
After the SWK episode and the 2001 sample the question I have is, what is your favourite Science Fiction film of all time?
So many to choose from, the first Matrix film blew me away, Blade Runner, 2001....

Dave,
I have been reading your blog a little while, but this is the first time I have had a chance to write. I think it is brave to give your story to America's Most Wanted, because if that had happened to my mom, I don't know if I would have had the strength. I don't care how much later it was, I don't think I could talk about it without professional help present on the set and a Xanax chaser. But it's a good thing, I think, to remind people this can happen anywhere, to anyone. Bless you.

Hey dave, I think you and Carmen are the greatest people in the world. Or I mean the greatest couple in the world. I loved watching 'til death do us part carmen and dave, i ended up taping it when i could.. i watch it sometimes even though the show ended a long time ago. I hope you make more "reality" shows like that. Tell Carmen i said Hi, and I think shes the coolest person ever and I look up to her. I have a question though, Why did you and Carmen wait about 3 years to get married? Thanks for listening. Take Care.
Posted by: Jess at July 22, 2004 07:31 AM
I waited 3 years to get married, and it was a good thing. We got to know each other, and know for sure we want to be together, I think 3 years is the right amount of time...jmo
Cassandra ******hugs****** I lost my sister to AIDS in 1998, she was a heroin addict. What an ugly disease, it destroyed her whole body, in the end she was pretty much blind, and in soooooooo much pain.

I know you hear this all the time but thank you for taking the time to keep us up to date with your projects. I have a question that has probably be asked a million and a half times. Will there be a new disc with you at the lead singer position again? I enjoyed TNO. Also was "Spread" released on a major? Would i be able to purchase it?

My mother was killed by a drunk driver when I was six. This guy was one of our neighbors and he left her there...on the street...in the middle of the night. My father got married again but his second wife died on cancer. After that he had heart problems. He died on my 18th birthday...
Sometimes I think that my family is cursed...
Every time someone asks me about them I just freak out. I hate it when people look at me and say how sorry they are... Or that they know how I feel...(!!!)
I want to ask you where do you get the strength to talk about it??? The strenght to live...
Thank You...You are an amazing person...

Man...I just want to give hugs all around here...Veronica, Cynthia, Cassandra, Hector....you have all been through some really tough times!
I tell you what, though, I really appreciate all of you, Dave included, sharing your stories. I lost my Mom to cancer last year and it was such a horrific thing, sometimes I feel like I'm never gonna get past it, but Dave gave us some good advice...just one task, one thing at a time.
Also, it really helps to share with all the very cool peeps here. Have a great day, each and every one of you...one moment at a time! :0)

Dave,
I've just watched that episode of Punk'd that you and Carmen appeared on, v.funny, I thought you were gonna throttle that driver! Any plans to get Ashton Kutcher back for that?

I've been a big fan of yours for some years now, Trust No-One is one of my favourite ever albums. Several years ago I sent a doll customised to look like you (complete with tattoos and goatee) to Bikini magazine (when you used to do that film reviews column for them) and I was wondering if you ever got it. I have another one in my collection and I'll have to try and take a picture of it to put up online sometime.
Anyway I love your music and I wish you and Carmen all the best in the future.
Take care

You schmucks, stop asking King David about his Janes Addiction days. Carmen wont let the midget answer anymore questions about the only worthwhile music he has ever churned out in his miserable life.
Its pathetic when the only voice of reason in your life is a airheaded cum-guzzler but one day Navarro, maybe you'll grow a pair and start being a man. Right now your nothing more than a sanitized Teddy Ruxpin doll. Nutered & Safe.
Its been a while since I've posted, but I just wanted to pass on the hope that this and all of your future musical endevores fall flat on their faces. Which they will. Just watch.
This Nabisco and the Keebler Elves project is a fucking mockery. Just like your sham wedding, and you trying to make everyone believe your not back on the pipe. Dont even get me started on Cump Freddy.

Posted by: Cynthia at July 22, 2004 11:30 AM
I kinda like "King Dave"...has a less formal ring to it! ;)
Cynthia...I'm pretty sure the Punk'd episode is too new for the DVD...was just shown for the first time in the last couple/few months.

King David, have I swung from your nuts yet this week? :p
Best wishes to all you guys who have some tough things to work through. Life is so fucking unfair. The older I get the more I realize how true that is, and the more it pisses me off. I should be a bitter old hag soon enough! ;)
Luiz, I'll be dropping you a line soon. I'm busy getting ready for a business trip I have next week, but I'll try to get to it before I leave. Talk to you soon my buddy.

Hey Dave,
I just stumbled upon this site and was pleasantly surprised. It's bookmarked now, and you've got one more regular vister.
Take care.
Posted by: Shane at July 22, 2004 12:45 PM
You bunch of pea-brains CANNOT be this stupid. King David was "sarcasm" and you chimps adopt it as a mantra. All you meatwads watch too much MTV. And aside from only morons still abrreviating laugh out loud....colleen, that actually was'nt a lot to write.
For someone such as yourself with a 3rd grade reading level though it probably was a lot to read.
When you're good (and I am) it just flows.
Posted by: DavesDeadMom at July 22, 2004 01:03 PM
Hey you, unwanted visitor. I'm sure Dave didn't create this website for people to come in and start shit with each other. He JUST wrote about how great it was to see that people here are becoming a community & talking with each other. Why do you keep coming back to write more dumb shit & try to belittle everything here? You complain that the people here are pathetic & whatnot...but you keep coming back. Think about that. If someone didn't write an essay in response to you, it doesn't mean they're stupid. They just dont give a shit. Just because Dave has amazing talent and a gorgeous wife, doesn't mean you have to express just how brutally jealous you are. Get over it.
And while this is my first time posting here...I've been reading this site for quite a while now. Dave - you're amazing - and amazing BARELY begins to cover it.
I can identify with some of you. Losing loved ones. I've lost one to AIDS, and 2 too many to cancer...different kinds all at once. I had a very close relative pass away on my birthday as well. Cancer had spread all over his body by then. I'm talking skin, throat, lung (primarily), and into his brain. It was terrible. Words can't express how terrible. He was a war veteran, and received a 17 gun salute.
My uncle in California died of AIDS. He was a beautiful person, and I couldn't be there to say goodbye. In a way that was good, but in a way - it made it worse. He was one of the best, most free people I knew. I miss them dearly.
Dave, I have so much respect for you, and I love what you do here. I love who you are, and I'm so glad you and Carmen found each other.
Posted by: Bridget at July 22, 2004 01:32 PM
Much respect Dave for going on AMW and talking about your mother. A few years ago, I lost both my parents within 6 months of each other and it was a terrible shock. I have a hard time even now talking about it so I really respect you for reaching out to other people and telling your story. I think it will help a lot of people who perhaps are going through a similar situation.
Thanks for this site and all the great music.

regarding dave's floydian influence, i just want to say i love how gilmour-ish his voice sounds. In some songs it's more noticeable than in others... i think it's very cool, cause PF's one of my all time faves, and both daves (gilmour AND navarro) are two of the most sensitive guitar players IMHO ever.
other than that, does anyone know where i can find (anyone kind enough to share) some live trax from the trust no one tour??
thanx a bunch

Hey Dave, this is related to Kurt, since you addressed him in the 'Tearjerker' question and have one of his guitars. I am almost finished with the book, 'Heavier Than Heaven'. A good read, but really sad, especially since that was his true life. I was just wondering what you thought about all the conspiracy theories regarding Kurt's death and if you have read any of the books that have come out about him and his death?
Posted by: Sugarbear at July 22, 2004 04:14 PM
Shawn..
People come here because they feel they have a connection to Dave.
Reading these posts you'll realize that a lot of people here have been hurt, dealt with addiction or the loss of a loved one,
(mine due to addiction) We find strength knowing he has been through this too, and has worked his way through a dark maze to something better...a thing we are all trying to do. It gives us hope that we can too. We see him as talented, strong, compassionate, smart and funny, because that is what we like to see in ourselves. If you see him as untalented, superficial, and a p-whipped loser, maybe it's because that is really the way you feel about yourself.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm still laughing at the fact that he felt compelled to tell us that he was being sarcastic calling Dave "King David". Does he really not have any idea how stupid he showed himself to be? Haha! My God, that is sad! But so funny!! :p
Posted by: Dana at July 22, 2004 05:51 PM
Shawn there is probably another place for you to post your ugliness, since it has no effect on those of us here that adore Dave and Carmen. I'm sure Dave realizes that part of the price of fame is facing the fact that not everyone likes you, but in your case, you are shamefully disrespectful and immature, and you should apologize to Dave and Carmen for the disgusting things you said.
Otherwise simply go away.....
Posted by: Cynthia at July 22, 2004 06:33 PM
to Mr Navarro,
firstly thanks for answering my previous question. I was just wondering do you have a particular method or some sort of a sequence you undertake when writing songs and putting them together? i know songwriting is a bit spontaneous but, for instance when you were working on your solo material for trust no one, did you sit down and plan out how you were going to put the songs together, like maybe mess around with an acoustic guitar to make the basis of the song, and then pick up a bass and put together a bassline? Or were you working with a band? Also, any ideas for a band name? Im stuck. Oh, and can I take this opportunity, if it hasn’t been mentioned already, to personally thank you for taking the time and effort to interact with your fans and answer or questions. My respect for you has rose immensly.
All the best.

Hi Dave:
First, glad to see this site back up. I was a huge fan of the site way back in 97 when you first put it up. Glad to see you have that spark back in your life and personality.
Just a quick question about the relapse (lifestyle, not tour with Jane's). Were you aware that you were going down that dark road again when you started using again, or did you think it would be different and that you could control it.
If this is too personal a question, I apologize. I have history of alcohol addiction in my family and I'm sorting things out slowly but surely.
God bless,
G

Hello Dave Fans,
You have to ignore people like 'Shawn' & 'Blair' (probably the same person) because these sort of lunatics are the types who destroyed Dave's old messageboards.
They were constantly spewing insane, lunatic commentary, then began stalking Daves fans online & in some cases in the real world! Mostly, they were just being a petty, jealous, childish nuisance.
The way to get these types to leave is basically for you guys to stop addressing them, they'll get bored soon enough. He/she will move on to harrassing other fans at other boards. They're obviously not a Dave fan if they post such tripe.
These folks have lots of time on their hands. You'd think they'd do something with their 'creative writing' credits, other than come here to tell us how witty & talented they are. Sad, lonely & very pathetic.
Answering & acknowledging this element of 'poster', only encourages them coming back here to bother Dave & us. I know their ultimate goal is to destroy a messageboard, anyone's messageboard, these types aren't selective. they just love to destroy.
It'll certainly be their greatest accomplishment in their sad little, pathetic lives. You almost have to feel sorry for them. The next thing you know, the'll be posting how they "rule this board".
And btw....don't open 'Blairs' link, another bloody moron coming here to put down Dave, Carmen & their fans! Asshole is an understatement.
As far as Dave having a stylist, all I can say is....at least Dave can afford one. Good for him.
Peace,
itanja

Dave, a couple of milestones have been reached here:
1. I can't believe how many comments posted on this one...nearing 100! Lots of interest/experience in the area of loss of a loved one, and lots of people wanting to reach out to those in need. Very cool.
2. The first *hater* post (that I've seen) has appeared. I hope it doesn't keep up, because I know none of us will stand for such shallow dicks on here! :-)~
So I was browsing at Tower Records today, and saw a DVD called "Three Days," which I think was mentioned on here before, but I never really caught on to what it was about. I'm pretty torn right now about how much Jane's turmoil I want to relive in light of recent events, and I was wondering: is this movie for the faint of heart? I'm all about soaking up as much footage of you playing as possible, but I'd hate to see you guys fighting a lot...
See you on the radio,

i love that everyone comes to dave's defense...for every negative comment...it seems like 100 people come to his defense and that's great! i believe in sending out positive energy...cause you'll get it back...so all those who are sending negative energy on this board...well...it'll come back to them...no worries.
and the poster above me (geoff)...i know how you feel...addiction runs hardcore in my family (all of my grandparents were alcoholics, one of my dad's brothers was a heroin addict for 30 years, he later died of aids, and the other three of them are addicted to prescription drugs like codeine and prozac, and my mom's brothers are either alcoholics or prescription pill addicts) so i'm very weary of what i put into my body...and i try to be healthy and such...and i actually owe a lot of that to dave...keeping myself healthy etc. so thanks dave!! and thanks for being an inspiration for everyone on this board. thank you for touching my life, and obviously other peoples, in a way that not many others could. much love and respect for you and for everyone (nice) on this board.

Itanja, thank you for informing us about what caused Dave's old site to go down, I think the message is clear that 99.9% of us love everything Dave and Carmen, so in order to keep this weblog up and running, and healthy for everyone including Dave, we have to completely ignore the haters.
It's hard to ignore them, because you want Dave to realize how much support and love he has here, so just for the record, though I am dying to say something to these losers, I will refrain as a show of support for Dave, and Carmen and this website which is by far, the most fun thing I've ever done online!!!!!!!!
