Random Q & A
Luiz, I say, quit the day job! Good work my man. Thank you everyone for the old files. It's time for me to start thinking about expanding this site. I guess I'll keep putting up old stuff until we have new stuff to put up. We have started recording rehearsals so maybe I can get everyone to agree on a song of horrendous quality for a temporary upload!
Another Real Player file, shot by Gavin Bowden, that features Chad Smith on drums and as the star. Poor quality, but what can you do? I have a cameo in the "film" he is watching.
1. Dave I've heard of a secret track on your record "TNO" under the name "The Bed" or something like that, is that true because I don't have it on my copy (or I think).
Cool. I will get it. I think it was on an import or something. It's a Lou Reed cover. Very dark and heavy song.
2. I jus feeling a little shit right now, maybe I should barge on his wedding day or something crazy like that -- sure put a look on his face hey.
I would say, that is probably the worst idea. Let him go, and just know it gets better. Don't let pride cloud your decision making. I would bet that you would feel worse if you barged.
3. Just a quick question...on "Til..." what was teh Portishead song you were thinking of using for your wedding song...I'm a big Portishead fan and was just curious.
Yes, it was. We love the Portishead.
4. There are pics of Dave and Trent at the mixing board together, it's too cool. Check this:
I gotta tell you, that's not me in those pictures.
5. Who were the members in your live band, I've searched all over the place cant find jack all...
Bass - Miiko, Drums - Angel, Guitar - Dave Kushner
6. Do you think you have gained a lot from Carmen, like different outlooks/appreciations on things?
I think we have helped each other a lot over the years, but a lot of our luck comes from the fact that we were both just over hurting ourselves with destructive behavior when we met.
7. Hey Dave, could you enlighten me please on the tuning for hungry it would make working it out a little easier or is it like rexall in DADAAD
You got it! DADAAD
8. Also during your wedding you had someone in a "eyes wide shut" mask standing at the entrance. What was your take on that movie since of course the director died & not to mention everyone has there own whacky view on the film.
I really liked the movie, but not until the second or third time I saw it. Odd, because I rarely see something more than once if I didn't love it at first. Gotta give stuff a chance I guess.
9. do you have the "L.A. Song video" to put it here? I am dying to watch it.
I don't have it. Anyone?
10. I used to work for a Hollywood fashion designer (Terri King) and way back in 99 or 00 she swore you were going to model in one of her fashion shows (held at Club Makeup). She said you didn't show but I could never tell if she was telling the truth or just messing with me since she knew what a big fan I was.
You know what? She is right! In fact, I owe her an apology for that so thank you for reminding me!
Peace & Love,
DN

Thanks Dave! Terri did a lot of work with Marilyn Manson and I was lucky enough to work w/ Twiggy and John 5 and a bunch of LA bands and I always hoped you would show up for a fitting or something :)
The outfit we had for you to wear for the show was pretty cool: Black leather patchwork pants, and a sleeveless tight fitting shirt made entirely out of large silver zippers :)

Those are some great clips! Cool to see so much of Chad in Hungry.
I saw you with RHCP in Brisbane in 96, and with JA last year in Sydney. Any plans to come back to Australia?
Cheers

that venus video was pretty fucked up, but i like it. that's some pretty creative shit. which leads me to a good question, can you honestly say you create best sober? wether it's music of film or what. also tell us more about that video, there's actors and a baby in that, that's a high production to just be put away and not seen.

Hey Dave
wouldnt mind helping me with the verse on hungry would you?
Posted by: Biblical at July 14, 2004 12:47 PM
Dave,
If you post new clips, can you also post a few pix of the recording sessions?
Have you seen the video of the KROQ Jane's show? Classic JA moment in song 2--Perry just getting into a dialog and you start playing "Just Because" over him. He then leaves the band hanging and smiles the whole way through, not singing a note. Perk is laughing... I have the file, I can send it, it's beautiful.

Hi Dave,
Has your opinion on "One Hot Minute" changed since its release almost 9 years ago? Can you re-assess it from a more objective viewpoint now that you have had a chance to distance yourself from it? Personally, I find it very powerful and moving, and it has always surprised me how you treat(ed) it with indiference or even resentment. Would you ever consider playing any of the songs live again, perhaps with your new band?
Thank you for taking the time to answer your fans' questions, and tying up loose ends from years ago.

Greetings!
Just wondering, was Carmen at the Jane's show in brixtion on halloween last year? After it finished I looked around and saw a beautiful Carmen-like lady standing behing me... could it have been her?

Dave... I was wondering if you'd help me with my art project for next school year if you have the time. The theme is "Musical Connections"... any songs off the top of your head with exceptionally cool/awe inspiring/emotive lyrics? (:

Dave,
Time for me to rack your brain. What was the deal with the homage to Rene Russo a few years back?
Still working on cleaning up the Love and Rockets/Jane's @ Jannus Landing in St. Pete recording from way back.

hi, sorry to barge in but i just wanted to say like everyone else i'm glad as hell to see 6767.com back & to comment on my so to speak site being down. my server/host people are upgrading and apparently have run into trouble so for the past few days it's hit or miss as to whether you can access the site. this is a crap time for it 'cos of all the activity going on here and the things people want to view on my site. this was the only way i could communicate to dave fans out there. cheers! --veronica

Dave, when I posted that link for pics, I meant that was Dave GROHL at the mixing board. I know the difference between the two of you! Silly. While you're both hot, tattooed, smexy rock stars, Grohl is the one who picks his nose in public.
:p

thanks for the answer! i was also one of those people who didn't like Eyes Wide Shut the first time i saw it. I came away with a message of "what the fuck just happened?!" I saw it again late at night when i couldn't sleep, and actually got a clear message from the movie that I really liked, which is "Love, treated as revenge, is destructive"...plus i'm a stanley kubrick fan (loooove clockwork orange) so i had to give it another shot.
thanks so much for answering my question, and i'm glad to see everything is great with you.
and to end...a question...do you feel that drug use is itself a problem, or just a symptom of the real problem? thanks man..you totally rock

Hi-yo Dave,
Just wanted to ask you: What made you start taking drugs again during the.....a-hem..."relapse tour" after staying clean for all those years?
Posted by: bumface at July 14, 2004 04:20 PM
Hey Dave,
Is there a story behind the different naming of the Hungry video? I'm guessing that there may not be or that you don't remember. But, thought I'd ask.
I'm thinking about setting up a portal for the rest of the files/fansite. We'll see how much time I have this weekend... :)

I don't know about you, but I am on here because I'm a fan of Dave's. You've known that for quite a while now.
If you have a problem with my being here then just don't waste your time reading or replying to my posts.
Thanx.

Hey Dave,
When were your comments on VH1 I love the 90’s filmed?? How’s the set up there (i.e. are everyone’s comments filmed on the same day, do they send you footage of what you’re covering before going…??) Did you get invited to be part of it or did you find out about it and call someone? I know this isn’t music related but I always wanted to know about the process in developing those shows and I’m trying to avoid doing my work. Also it’s pretty cool that you did the Chat. I wish I could have been part of it but we were temporarily stranded in Rosarito with very little money. Anyhow, I hope you have another one soon and thanks again.
Wendybird
PS. How many contest winners will they have for Vegas? This sounds like an ideal contest, gambleling and rockstars what a combo.

" do you have the "L.A. Song video" to put it here? I am dying to watch it."
"I don't have it. Anyone?"
Well Dave, MTV has that video, they actually showed it, years ago, during '120 Minutes'.
You could possibly ask them for it! After all, you & Carmen did a show for them, how could they refuse you.
'Beavis & Butthead' were watching the "LA Song" video on their show & loving it. Ahhh....Memories!
I'm really excited that you have this site up again & in this format. The fact that you are making the time to communicate with your fans on this level is unbelievable & extremely kind of you. It's beyond great that you are back, especially this often!
Btw, is your old email working? I might have some video downloads the fans are looking for, I'd like to get them to you. I think I have a clearer version of 'Venus', if anyone wants that....and some other goodies...

Dave, is there any significance to the symbol of the unicorn in the S? I noticed it being used on this site and the end of the Venus in Furs video.
Also, how do you feel about Blondie? Would you ever consider working with Clem Burke, Deborah Harry, Jimmy Destri, or Leigh Foxx?

ha ha...blondie is how i got my screenname...i'm not blonde (i'm a redhead lol)...but blondie was one of my fav bands back in the day when i was in 7th grade...and i really liked RHCP's title Uplift Mofo Party Plan...so there you have it...blondimofo...and it was in the days before you were allowed 16 letters by aol...you were only allowed 10...but i'm curious about the blondie thing and dave's opinion on them

The next Layne Staley tribute will be held on Friday, Aug 27 in Seattle, WA. Layne was the singer of Alice In Chains, of course, and sadly passed away in 2002. His mother (Nancy) has put together a yearly tribute to honor him with memories and music with all proceeds going to a charity for heroin addiction (Eastside Recovery Center). I knew Layne before his rise to fame and have become involved with the tribute. Layne was one of the nicest guys you ever met and lived alone until he passed away.

I just thought that with camp freddy you guys should cover "pigs" by Floyd that would be killer. I love that song and it would be cool to hear you guys take on it.
Posted by: Jesse at July 14, 2004 08:55 PM
Dave, didn't you think Carmen would make the perfect "Daisy Duke" in the upcoming Dukes of Hazzard movie?
Please tell me what Carmen's thoughts are as well.
I mean really Jessica Simpson? BARF!!!!!!!!
Daisy Duke had a brain as well as hot legs. What are these producers thinking, if they put a brunette wig on "Jessie" she'll seem somewhat bright?

Hey Dave, I was just wondering, how did you like the Three Days documentary? I know it's a bit late to ask but I was just wondering since I hadn't heard your thoughts on it.

I agree Cynthia, Carmen would ahve been good in that part. Do you guys know Nick & Jessica Dave? You and Carmen seem more down to earth than them, although I guess they play it up for the cameras a little.
Dave, you you still have this picture in your house?

Posted by: Rob C at July 14, 2004 11:49 PM
also dave i wanted to let you know about that final question at the end of your camp freddy radio show last week. i don't think you should get nick to sing in camp freddy. i understand you enjoy that kind of stuff with expanding your sound, but i kind of agree with what matt sorum was saying in the beginning of his opinion about that. it's about keeping up the rock image. rap stars i agree with playing music with them. but just absorbing the pop stars i don't like that idea. i knew you were taking calls so i just wanted to let you know my opinion cause i couldnt call. even if you decide to do it, i'll still think your an awesome talented guitarist. also i thought it was hilariousn when that guy called up saying, get nick and i'll burn all my jane's addiction cds. and then that evolving into matt talking about microwaving your cd's. CLASSIC!!! lol

OH...MY...GOD! I finally saw V.I.F.'s video. That was the best video I have EVER seen. That made my day Dave, THANK YOU!;-) I think that version of that song sounds really hot. More dark. I love it too.
I was wondering, have you ever thought about shaving off your burns or your go-tee? (Sorry, I don't know how to spell that) I was just wondering. YOu have had facial hair for years. I am not complaining, I LOVE IT! And what does Carmen think? I have another question, why did you guys pick that star for the relapse tour? Does it have a meaning behind it? I got it tattooed back in '01.(Mine is on the small of my back.) I Know where it came from , but does it mean something. PLEASE tell me the story how you guys decided on it and what does it mean.
Sorry I don't have anything smart to say. I am just a groovy chick wanting to know what my favorite sexy man likes.
Oh, and I want to tell you one more thing. The past few months, well, since Jan. I have had a really tough time personally. ANd I want to tell you thanks for making me feel better. Through your music with Jane's and your solo act (I have not heard Camp Freddy yet) and seeing you on TV has made me happier. It takes my mind off of the stressful things that are going on right now. I feel calm when I hear you play and I smile when I see you on TV. Thank you so much. And thanks Carmen too. Without her, I would not have seen your wedding. Thank you from my whole entire heart and soul. Thnx, Crecencia
